Expander graphs in general, and Ramanujan graphs in particular, have been of great interest in the last three decades with many applications in computer science, combinatorics and even pure mathematics. In these notes we describe various efforts made in recent years to generalize these notions from graphs to higher dimensional simplicial complexes.

We present a symmetric LDPC code with constant rate and constant distance (i.e. good LDPC code) that its constraint space is generated by the orbit of one constant weight constraint under a group action. Our construction provides the first symmetric LDPC good codes. This solves the main open problem raised by Kaufman and Wigderson in [4].
Expander Graphs in Pure and Applied Mathematics

Expander graphs are highly connected sparse finite graphs. They play an important role in computer science as basic building blocks for network constructions, error correcting codes, algorithms and more. In recent years they have started to play an increasing role also in pure mathematics: number theory, group theory, geometry and more. This expository article describes their constructions and various applications in pure and applied mathematics.

We apply spectral analysis of quotients of the Bruhat-Tits buildings of type $\tilde{A}_{d-1}$ to construct isospectral non-isomorphic Cayley graphs of the finite simple groups $\operatorname{PSL}_d({\mathbb F}_q)$ for every $d \geq 5$ ($d \neq 6$) and prime power $q > 2$.
