Extremal graphs for odd-ballooning of paths and stars
The odd-ballooning of a graph $G$, denoted by $G_q$, is the graph obtained from replacing each edge in $G$ by a odd cycle of the same size where the new vertices of the odd cycles are all different. In 2002, Erdös et al. determined the extremal graphs of $k$-fan. In 2016, Hou et al. determined extremal graphs of the odd-ballooning of stars for $q\geqslant 5$. In 2020, Zhu et al. determined extremal graphs of the odd-ballooning of paths for $q\geqslant 3$. In this article, we use progressive induction lemma of Simonovits to determine the extremal graphs of both odd-ballooning of stars and odd-ballooning of paths for $q\geqslant 3$.
Extremal graphs for edge blow-up of lollipops
Given a graph $H$ and an integer $p$ ($p\geq 2$), the edge blow-up $H^{p+1}$ of $H$ is the graph obtained from replacing each edge in $H$ by a clique of order $(p+1)$, where the new vertices of the cliques are all distinct. The Turán numbers for edge blow-up of matchings were first studied by Erdős and Moon. Very recently some substantial progress of the extremal graphs for $H^{p+1}$ of larger $p$ has been made by Yuan. The range of Turán numbers for edge blow-up of all bipartite graphs when $p\geq 3$ and the exact Turán numbers for edge blow-up of all non-bipartite graphs when $p\geq χ(H) +1$ has been determined by Yuan (2022), where $χ(H)$ is the chromatic number of $H$. A lollipop $C_{k,\;\ell}$ is the graph obtained from a cycle $C_k$ by appending a path $P_{\ell+1}$ to one of its vertices. In this paper, we consider the extremal graphs for $C_{k,\;\ell}^{p+1}$ of the rest cases $p=2$ and $p=3$.

Let $\mathscr{G}_{n,β}$ be the set of graphs of order $n$ with given matching number $β$. Let $D(G)$ be the diagonal matrix of the degrees of the graph $G$ and $A(G)$ be the adjacency matrix of the graph $G$. The largest eigenvalue of the nonnegative matrix $A_α(G)=αD(G)+A(G)$ is called the $α$-spectral radius of $G$. The graphs with maximal $α$-spectral radius in $\mathscr{G}_{n,β}$ are completely characterized in this paper. In this way we provide a general framework to attack the problem of extremal spectral radius in $\mathscr{G}_{n,β}$. More precisely, we generalize the known results on the maximal adjacency spectral radius in $\mathscr{G}_{n,β}$ and the signless Laplacian spectral radius.

Let $G$ be a graph. For a subset $X$ of $V(G)$, the switching $σ$ of $G$ is the signed graph $G^σ$ obtained from $G$ by reversing the signs of all edges between $X$ and $V(G)\setminus X$. Let $A(G^σ)$ be the adjacency matrix of $G^σ$. An eigenvalue of $A(G^σ)$ is called a main eigenvalue if it has an eigenvector the sum of whose entries is not equal to zero. Let $S_{n,k}$ be the graph obtained from the complete graph $K_{n-r}$ by attaching $r$ pendent edges at some vertex of $K_{n-r}$. In this paper we prove that there exists a switching $σ$ such that all eigenvalues of $G^σ$ are main when $G$ is a complete multipartite graph, or $G$ is a harmonic tree, or $G$ is $S_{n,k}$. These results partly confirm a conjecture of Akbari et al.

The fractional matching number of a graph G, is the maximum size of a fractional matching of G. The following sharp lower bounds for a graph G of order n are proved, and all extremal graphs are characterized in this paper. (1)The sum of the fractional matching number of a graph G and the fractional matching number of its complement is not less than n/2 , where n is not less than 2. (2) If G and its complement are non-empty, then the sum of the fractional matching number of a graph G and the fractional matching number of its complement is not less than (n+1)/2, where n is not less than 28. (3) If G and its complement have no isolated vertices, then the sum of the fractional matching number of a graph G and the fractional matching number of its complement is not less than (n+4)/2, where n is not less than 28.
Sharp upper and lower bounds for the spectral radius of a nonnegative weakly irreducible tensor and its applications
In this paper, we obtain the sharp upper and lower bounds for the spectral radius of a nonnegative weakly irreducible tensor. We also apply these bounds to the adjacency spectral radius and signless Laplacian spectral radius of a uniform hypergraph.

A connected $k$-uniform hypergraph with $n$ vertices and $m$ edges is called $r$-cyclic if $n=m(k-1)-r+1$. For $r=1$ or $2$, the hypergraph is simply called unicyclic or bicyclic. In this paper we investigate hypergraphs that attain larger spectral radii among all simple connected $k$-uniform unicyclic and bicyclic hypergraphs. Specifically, by using some edge operations, the formula on power hypergraph eigenvalues, the weighted incidence matrix and a result on linear unicyclic hypergraphs, we determined the first five hypergraphs with larger spectral radius among all unicyclic hypergraphs and the first three over all bicyclic hypergraphs.
Some properties and applications of odd-colorable $r$-hypergraphs
Let $r\geq2$ and $r$ be even. An $r$-hypergraph $G$ on $n$ vertices is called odd-colorable if there exists a map $\varphi:[n]\rightarrow\lbrack r]$ such that for any edge $\{j_{1},j_{2},\cdots,j_{r}\}$ of $G$, we have $\varphi(j_{1})+\varphi(j_{2})+\cdot\cdot\cdot+\varphi(j_{r})\equiv r/2(\operatorname{mod}r).$ In this paper, we first determine that, if $r=2^{q}(2t+1)$ and $n\ge 2^{q}(2^{q}-1)r$, then the maximum chromatic number in the class of the odd-colorable $r$-hypergraphs on $n$ vertices is $2^q$, which answers a question raised by V. Nikiforov recently in [V. Nikiforov, Hypergraphs and hypermatrices with symmetric spectrum. Prinprint available in arXiv:1605.00709v2, 10 May, 2016]. We also study some applications of the symmetric spectral property of the odd-colorable $r$-graphs given in that same paper by V. Nikiforov. We show that the Laplacian spectrum and the signless Laplacian spectrum of an $r$-hypergraph $G$ are equal if and only if $G$ is odd-colorable, and then study some further applications of these spectral properties.

Let $\mathcal{A}(H)$ be the adjacency tensor of $r$-uniform hypergraph $H$. If $H$ is connected, the unique positive eigenvector $x=(x_1,x_2,\ldots,x_n)^{\mathrm{T}}$ with $||x||_r=1$ corresponding to spectral radius $ρ(H)$ is called the principal eigenvector of $H$. The maximum and minimum entries of $x$ are denoted by $x_{\max}$ and $x_{\min}$, respectively. In this paper, we investigate the bounds of $x_{\max}$ and $x_{\min}$ in the principal eigenvector of $H$. Meanwhile, we also obtain some bounds of the ratio $x_i/x_j$ for $i$, $j\in [n]$ as well as the principal ratio $γ(H)=x_{\max}/x_{\min}$ of $H$. As an application of these results we finally give an estimate of the gap of spectral radii between $H$ and its proper sub-hypergraph $H'$.

Let A(G) be the adjacency tensor (hypermatrix) of uniform hypergraph G. The maximum modulus of the eigenvalues of A(G) is called the spectral radius of G. In this paper, the conjecture of Fan et al. in [5] related to compare the spectral radii of some three uniform hypergraphs is solved. Moreover, some eigenvalues properties of a kind of uniform hypergraphs are obtained.

Let $\mathcal{A(}G\mathcal{)},\mathcal{L(}G\mathcal{)}$ and $\mathcal{Q(}% G\mathcal{)}$ be the adjacency tensor, Laplacian tensor and signless Laplacian tensor of uniform hypergraph $G$, respectively. Denote by $λ(\mathcal{T})$ the largest H-eigenvalue of tensor $\mathcal{T}$. Let $H$ be a uniform hypergraph, and $H^{\prime}$ be obtained from $H$ by inserting a new vertex with degree one in each edge. We prove that $λ(\mathcal{Q(}% H^{\prime}\mathcal{)})\leqλ(\mathcal{Q(}H\mathcal{)}).$ Denote by $G^{k}$ the $k$th power hypergraph of an ordinary graph $G$ with maximum degree $Δ\geq2$. We will prove that $\{λ(\mathcal{Q(}% G^{k}\mathcal{)})\}$ is a strictly decreasing sequence, which imply Conjectrue 4.1 of Hu, Qi and Shao in \cite{HuQiShao2013}. We also prove that $λ(\mathcal{Q(}G^{k}\mathcal{)})$ converges to $Δ$ when $k$ goes to infinity. The definiton of $k$th power hypergraph $G^{k}$ has been generalized as $G^{k,s}.$ We also prove some eigenvalues properties about $\mathcal{A(}% G^{k,s}\mathcal{)},$ which generalize some known results. Some related results about $\mathcal{L(}G\mathcal{)}$ are also mentioned.

A connected and acyclic hypergraph is called a supertree. In this paper we mainly focus on the spectral radii of uniform supertrees. Li, Shao and Qi determined the first two $k$-uniform supertrees with large spectral radii among all the $k$-uniform supertrees on $n$ vertices [H. Li, J. Shao, L. Qi, The extremal spectral radii of $k$-uniform supertrees, arXiv:1405.7257v1, May 2014]. By applying the operation of moving edges on hypergraphs and using the weighted incidence matrix method we extend the above order to the fourth $k$-uniform supertree.

Let $G$ be a graph of order $n$ and let $q\left( G\right) $ be the largest eigenvalue of the signless Laplacian of $G$. Let $S_{n,k}$ be the graph obtained by joining each vertex of a complete graph of order $k$ to each vertex of an independent set of order $n-k;$ and let $S_{n,k}^{+}$ be the graph obtained by adding an edge to $S_{n,k}.$
It is shown that if $k\geq2,$ $n\geq400k^{2},$ and $G$ is a graph of order $n,$ with no cycle of length $2k+2,$ then $q\left( G\right) <q\left( S_{n,k}^{+}\right) ,$ unless $G=S_{n,k}^{+}.$ This result completes the proof of a conjecture of de Freitas, Nikiforov and Patuzzi.
On the spectral radii of bicyclic graphs with fixed independence number
Bicyclic graph is a connected graph in which the number of edges equals the number of vertices plus one. In this paper, we determine the graph which alone maximizes the spectral radii among all the bicyclic graphs on $n$ vertices with fixed independence number.

Let $G$ be a graph of order $n$ and let $μ_{1}\left(G\right) \geq \cdots\geqμ_{n}\left(G\right) $ be the eigenvalues of its adjacency matrix. This note studies eigenvalue problems of Nordhaus-Gaddum type. Let $\overline{G}$ be the complement of a graph $G.$ It is shown that if $s\geq2$ and $n\geq15\left(s-1\right) ,$ then \[ \left\vert μ_{s}\left(G\right) \right\vert +|μ_{s}(\overline{G})|\,\leq n/\sqrt{2\left(s-1\right)}-1. \]
Also if $s\geq1$ and $n\geq4^{s},$ then \[ \left\vert μ_{n-s+1}\left(G\right) \right\vert +|μ_{n-s+1}(\overline {G})|\,\leq n/\sqrt{2s}+1. \] If $s=2^{k}+1$ for some integer $k$, these bounds are asymptotically tight. These results settle infinitely many cases of a general open problem.

Let $q\left( G\right) $ be the $Q$-index (the largest eigenvalue of the signless Laplacian) of $G$. Let $S_{n,k}$ be the graph obtained by joining each vertex of a complete graph of order $k$ to each vertex of an independent set of order $n-k.$ The main result of this paper is the following theorem:
Let $k\geq3,$ $n\geq110k^{2},$ and $G$ be a graph of order $n$. If $G$ has no $C_{2k+1},$ then $q\left( G\right) <q\left( S_{n,k}\right) ,$ unless $G=S_{n,k}.$
This result proves the odd case of the conjecture in [M.A.A. de Freitas, V. Nikiforov, and L. Patuzzi, Maxima of the $Q$-index: forbidden $4$-cycle and $5$-cycle, \emph{Electron. J. Linear Algebra }26 (2013), 905-916.]

This paper gives tight upper bound on the largest eigenvalue q(G) of the signless Laplacian of graphs with no paths of given order. The main ingredient of our proof is a stability result of its own interest, about graphs with large minimum degree and with no long paths. This result extends previous work of Ali and Staton.
