Enumeration of general planar hypermaps with an alternating boundary
In this paper, we extend the enumerative study of planar hypermaps with an alternating boundary introduced in an earlier work of Bouttier and the second author. In that article, an explicit rational parametrization was obtained for the associated generating function in the case of m-constellations, using a variant of the kernel method. We develop here a new strategy to obtain an algebraic equation in the general case, which includes maps decorated by the Ising model, through a classical many-to-one correspondence. One of the main steps of our strategy is the simultaneous elimination of two catalytic variables. We then apply this strategy to the case of Ising quadrangulations, where we obtain an explicit rational parametrization. As a consequence, we show that some notable properties of the constellations case are no longer satisfied in general.
The Ising model on cubic maps: arbitrary genus
We design a recursive algorithm to compute the partition function of the Ising model, summed over cubic maps with fixed size and genus. The algorithm runs in polynomial time, which is much faster than methods based on a Tutte-like, or topological, recursion.
We construct this algorithm out of a partial differential equation that we derive from the first equation of the KP hierarchy satisfied by the generating function of bipartite maps. This series is indeed related to the Ising partition function by a change of variables. We also obtain inequalities on the coefficients of this partition function, which should be useful for a probabilistic study of cubic Ising maps whose genus grows linearly with their size.
Random trees with local catastrophes: the Brownian case
We introduce and study a model of plane random trees generalizing the famous Bienaymé--Galton--Watson model but where births and deaths are locally correlated. More precisely, given a random variable $(B,H)$ with values in $\{1,2,3, \dots\}^2$, given the state of the tree at some generation, the next generation is obtained (informally) by successively deleting $B$ individuals side-by-side and replacing them with $H$ new particles where the samplings are i.i.d. We prove that, in the critical case $\mathbb{E}[B]=\mathbb{E}[H]$, and under a third moment condition on $B$ and $H$, the random trees coding the genealogy of the population model converges towards the Brownian Continuum Random Tree. Interestingly, our proof does not use the classical height process or the Łukasiewicz exploration, but rather the stochastic flow point of view introduced by Bertoin and Le Gall.

A planar hypermap with a boundary is defined as a planar map with a boundary, endowed with a proper bicoloring of the inner faces. The boundary is said alternating if the colors of the incident inner faces alternate along its contour. In this paper we consider the problem of counting planar hypermaps with an alternating boundary, according to the perimeter and to the degree distribution of innerfaces of each color. The problem is translated into a functional equation with a catalytic variable determining the corresponding generating function. In the case of constellations - hypermaps whose all inner faces of a given color have degree $m\geq 2$, and whose all other inner faces have a degree multiple of $m$ - we completely solve the functional equation, and show that the generating function is algebraic and admits an explicit rational parametrization. We finally specialize to the case of Eulerian triangulations - hypermaps whose all inner faces have degree $3$ - and compute asymptotics which are needed in another work by the second author, to prove the convergence of rescaled planar Eulerian triangulations to the Brownian map.

We prove that properly rescaled large planar Eulerian triangulations converge to the Brownian map. This result requires more than a standard application of the methods that have been used to obtain the convergence of other families of planar maps to the Brownian map, as the natural distance for Eulerian triangulations is a canonical oriented pseudo-distance. To circumvent this difficulty, we adapt the layer decomposition method established by Curien and Le Gall, which yields asymptotic proportionality between three natural distances on planar Eulerian triangulations: the usual graph distance, the canonical oriented pseudo-distance, and the Riemannian metric. This notably gives the first mathematical proof of a convergence to the Brownian map for maps endowed with their Riemannian metric. Along the way, we also construct new models of infinite random maps, as local limits of large planar Eulerian triangulations.

We present here random distributions on $(D+1)$-edge-colored, bipartite graphs with a fixed number of vertices $2p$. These graphs are dual to $D$-dimensional orientable colored complexes. We investigate the behavior of quantities related to those random graphs, such as their number of connected components or the number of vertices of their dual complexes, as $p \to \infty$. The techniques involved in the study of these quantities also yield a Central Limit Theorem for the genus of a uniform map of order $p$, as $p \to \infty$.
