A Characterization of Geodetic Graphs in Terms of their Embedded Even Graphs
The problem of finding the general classification of geodetic graphs is still open. We believe that one of the obstacles to attain this goal is that geodetic graphs lack a structural description. In other words, their fundamental properties have not yet been established in terms of the description of the complete graphs, paths and cycles contained within them. The absence of this information makes their generation and enumeration (as inherent parts of their general classification) a difficult task. This paper examines the structural qualities of geodetic graphs using their so-called embedded even graphs. To this effect, the necessary and sufficient conditions for eliminating the nongeodecity of each pair of C-opposite vertices in an even cycle C have been formulated, while the bigeodecity of the embedded even graphs of a geodetic graph has been established. In a sense, this allows us to arrive at the conclusion that the basic building blocks of geodetic graphs are precisely this class of bigeodetic ones.

Block Designs and K-Geodetic Graphs: A Survey
Published in Journal of Science. Lyon 62 (2025) pp.20-24 • View PublicationBIB
K-geodetic graphs (K capital) are defined as graphs in which each pair of nonadjacent vertices has at most K paths of minimum length between them. A K-geodetic graph is geodetic if K=1, bigeodetic if K=2 and trigeodetic if K=3. K-geodetic graphs are applied effectively to the solution of several practical problems in distinct areas of computer science, hence the importance of their study. Four problems are central to the study of K-geodetic graphs, namely, characterization, construction, enumeration and classification. The problems of finding the general classification of K-geodetic graphs for each of their classes K=1,2,3 are open. The present paper is a survey dedicated to the construction of K-geodetic graphs for K=1,2,3 using balanced incomplete block designs (BIBDs). To this purpose, we use block designs as combinatorial structures defined in terms of completely predetermined parameters, which is essential for the easy construction of the K-geodetic graphs described in this survey.

On a Problem of Ramsey Theory
Published in German International Journal of Modern Science 86 (2024) pp. 15-17 • View PublicationBIB
In 1955, Greenwood and Gleason showed that the Ramsey number R(3, 3, 3) = 17 by constructing an edge-chromatic graph on 16 vertices in three colors with no triangles. Their technique employed finite fields. This same result was obtained later by using another technique. In this article, we examine the complete graph on 17 vertices, K17, which can be represented as a regular polygon of 17 sides with all its diagonals. We color each edge of K17 with one of the three colors, blue, red or yellow. The graph thus obtained is called complete trichromatic graph K17^(3) (the superscript determines the number of colors). A triangle contained in graph K17^(3) with edges colored with one and only one color is called monochromatic. It has been shown that for any coloring of the K17^(3) edges, K17^(3) contains at least one monochromatic triangle. This article examines the problem of determining the minimum number of monochromatic triangles with the same color contained in K17^(3).

Geodetic Graphs Homeomorphic to a Given Geodetic Graph
Published in International Journal of Graph Theory and its Applications 3(1) (2020) pp. 13-44 • Search Publication
This paper describes a new approach to the problem of generating the class of all geodetic graphs homeomorphic to a given geodetic one. An algorithmic procedure is elaborated to carry out a systematic finding of such a class of graphs. As a result, the enumeration of the class of geodetic graphs homeomorphic to certain Moore graphs has been performed.
