A computer search for planar substitution tilings with n-fold rotational symmetry

We describe a computer algorithm that searches for substitution rules on a set of triangles, the angles of which are all integer multiples of π/n. We find new substitution rules admitting 7-fold rotational symmetry at many different inflation factors.
Combinatorics and topology of the Robinson tiling
We study the space of all tilings which can be obtained using the Robinson tiles (this is a two-dimensional subshift of finite type). We prove that it has a unique minimal subshift, and describe it by means of a substitution. This description allows to compute its cohomology groups, and prove that it is a model set.
Symmetry Structure of the Elser-Sloane Quasicrystal

The 4D quasicrystal of Elser and Sloane, obtained from the root lattice E8 by the cut-and-project method, can be parametrized by the points of an 8D torus. This allows for an explicit analysis of its point and inflation symmetry structure.
