In this paper, we show that the minimum number of vertices whose removal disconnects a connected strongly regular graph into non-singleton components, equals the size of the neighborhood of an edge for many graphs. These include blocks graphs of Steiner $2$-designs, many Latin square graphs and strongly regular graphs whose intersection parameters are at most a quarter of their valency.

A $t$-walk-regular graph is a graph for which the number of walks of given length between two vertices depends only on the distance between these two vertices, as long as this distance is at most $t$. Such graphs generalize distance-regular graphs and $t$-arc-transitive graphs. In this paper, we will focus on 1- and in particular 2-walk-regular graphs, and study analogues of certain results that are important for distance regular graphs. We will generalize Delsarte's clique bound to 1-walk-regular graphs, Godsil's multiplicity bound and Terwilliger's analysis of the local structure to 2-walk-regular graphs. We will show that 2-walk-regular graphs have a much richer combinatorial structure than 1-walk-regular graphs, for example by proving that there are finitely many non-geometric 2-walk-regular graphs with given smallest eigenvalue and given diameter (a geometric graph is the point graph of a special partial linear space); a result that is analogous to a result on distance-regular graphs. Such a result does not hold for 1-walk-regular graphs, as our construction methods will show.
Regular graphs with maximal energy per vertex

We study the energy per vertex in regular graphs. For every k, we give an upper bound for the energy per vertex of a k-regular graph, and show that a graph attains the upper bound if and only if it is the disjoint union of incidence graphs of projective planes of order k-1 or, in case k=2, the disjoint union of triangles and hexagons. For every k, we also construct k-regular subgraphs of incidence graphs of projective planes for which the energy per vertex is close to the upper bound. In this way, we show that this upper bound is asymptotically tight.
A relationship between the diameter and the intersection number c2 for a distance-regular graph

In this paper we will look at the relationship between the intersection number c2 and its diameter for a distance-regular graph. And also, we give some tools to show that a distance-regular graph with large c2 is bipartite, and a tool to show that if kD is too small then the distance-regular graph has to be antipodal.
On a conjecture of Brouwer involving the connectivity of strongly regular graphs

In this paper, we study a conjecture of Andries E. Brouwer from 1996 regarding the minimum number of vertices of a strongly regular graph whose removal disconnects the graph into non-singleton components.
We show that strongly regular graphs constructed from copolar spaces and from the more general spaces called $Δ$-spaces are counterexamples to Brouwer's Conjecture. Using J.I. Hall's characterization of finite reduced copolar spaces, we find that the triangular graphs $T(m)$, the symplectic graphs $Sp(2r,q)$ over the field $\mathbb{F}_q$ (for any $q$ prime power), and the strongly regular graphs constructed from the hyperbolic quadrics $O^{+}(2r,2)$ and from the elliptic quadrics $O^{-}(2r,2)$ over the field $\mathbb{F}_2$, respectively, are counterexamples to Brouwer's Conjecture. For each of these graphs, we determine precisely the minimum number of vertices whose removal disconnects the graph into non-singleton components. While we are not aware of an analogue of Hall's characterization theorem for $Δ$-spaces, we show that complements of the point graphs of certain finite generalized quadrangles are point graphs of $Δ$-spaces and thus, yield other counterexamples to Brouwer's Conjecture.
We prove that Brouwer's Conjecture is true for many families of strongly regular graphs including the conference graphs, the generalized quadrangles $GQ(q,q)$ graphs, the lattice graphs, the Latin square graphs, the strongly regular graphs with smallest eigenvalue -2 (except the triangular graphs) and the primitive strongly regular graphs with at most 30 vertices except for few cases.
We leave as an open problem determining the best general lower bound for the minimum size of a disconnecting set of vertices of a strongly regular graph, whose removal disconnects the graph into non-singleton components.

In this paper, we classify distance regular graphs such that all of its second largest local eigenvalues are at most one. Also we discuss the consequences for the smallest eigenvalue of a distance-regular graph. These extend a result by the first author, who classified the distance-regular graph with smallest eigenvalue $-1-\frac{b_1}{2}$.

In this paper, we show that for given positive integer C, there are only finitely many distance-regular graphs with valency k at least three, diameter D at least six and k2/k<=C. This extends a conjecture of Bannai and Ito.
Distance-regular graph with large a1 or c2
In this paper, we study distance-regular graphs $Γ$ that have a pair of distinct vertices, say x and y, such that the number of common neighbors of x and y is about half the valency of $Γ$. We show that if the diameter is at least three, then such a graph, besides a finite number of exceptions, is a Taylor graph, bipartite with diameter three or a line graph.
An inequality involving the second largest and smallest eigenvalue of a distance-regular graph

For a distance-regular graph with second largest eigenvalue (resp. smallest eigenvalue) \mu1 (resp. \muD) we show that (\mu1+1)(\muD+1)<= -b1 holds, where equality only holds when the diameter equals two. Using this inequality we study distance-regular graphs with fixed second largest eigenvalue.

Let $G$ be a graph on $n$ vertices with $r := \lfloor n/2 \rfloor$ and let $λ_1 \geq...\geq λ_{n} $ be adjacency eigenvalues of $G$. Then the Hückel energy of $G$, HE($G$), is defined as $$\he(G) = {ll}
2\sum_{i=1}^{r} λ_i, & \hbox{if $n= 2r$;}
2\sum_{i=1}^{r} λ_i + λ_{r+1}, & \hbox{if $n= 2r+1$.}
$$ The concept of Hückel energy was introduced by Coulson as it gives a good approximation for the $π$-electron energy of molecular graphs. We obtain two upper bounds and a lower bound for HE$(G)$. When $n$ is even, it is shown that equality holds in both upper bounds if and only if $G$ is a strongly regular graph with parameters $(n, k, λ, μ) = (4t^2 +4t +2, 2t^2 +3t +1, t^2 +2t, t^2 + 2t +1),$ for positive integer $t$. Furthermore, we will give an infinite family of these strongly regular graph whose construction was communicated by Willem Haemers to us. He attributes the construction to J.J. Seidel.

A Shilla distance-regular graph G (say with valency k) is a distance-regular graph with diameter 3 such that its second largest eigenvalue equals to a3. We will show that a3 divides k for a Shilla distance-regular graph G, and for G we define b=b(G):=k/a3. In this paper we will show that there are finitely many Shilla distance-regular graphs G with fixed b(G)>=2. Also, we will classify Shilla distance-regular graphs with b(G)=2 and b(G)=3. Furthermore, we will give a new existence condition for distance-regular graphs, in general.
