On the largest $A_α$-spectral radius of cacti
Let $A(G)$ be the adjacent matrix and $D(G)$ the diagonal matrix of the degrees of a graph $G$, respectively. For $0 \leq α\leq 1$, the $A_α$ matrix $A_α(G) = αD(G) +(1-α)A(G)$ is given by Nikiforov. Clearly, $A_{0} (G)$ is the adjacent matrix and $2 A_{\frac{1}{2}}$ is the signless Laplacian matrix. A cactus is a connected graph such that any two of its cycles have at most one common vertex, that is an extension of the tree. The $A_α$-spectral radius of a cactus graph with $n$ vertices and $k$ cycles is explored. The outcomes obtained in this paper can imply previous bounds of Nikiforov et al., and Lovász and Pelikán. In addition, the corresponding extremal graphs are determined. Furthermore, we proposed all eigenvalues of such extremal cacti. Our results extended and enriched previous known results.

Some Relations on Paratopisms and An Intuitive Interpretation on the Parastrophes of a Latin Square
This paper will present some intuitive interpretation of the parastrophe transformations of arbitrary Latin square. With this trick, we can generate the parastrophes of arbitrary Latin square directly from the original one without generating the orthogonal array. The relations of isotopisms and parastrophe transformations in composition will also be shown. It will solve the problem that when F1*I1=I2*F2 how can we obtain I2 and F2 from I1 and F1, where I1 and I2 are isotopisms while F1 and F2 are parastrophe transformations and "{*}" is the composition of transformations. These methods could distinctly simplify the computation on a computer for the issues related to main classes of Latin squares. This will improve the efficiency apparently in computation for some related problems.

Graphs having extremal monotonic topological indices with bounded vertex $k$-partiteness
Published • View PublicationBIB
The vertex $k$-partiteness $v_k(G)$ of graph $G$ is defined as the fewest number of vertices whose deletion from $G$ yields a $k$-partite graph. In this paper, we introduce two concepts: monotonic decreasing topological index and monotonic increasing topological index, and characterize the extremal graphs having the minimum Wiener index, the maximum Harry index, the maximum reciprocal degree distance, the minimum eccentricity distance sum, the minimum adjacent eccentric distance sum index, the maximum connective eccentricity index, the maximum Zagreb indices among graphs with a fixed number $n$ of vertices and fixed vertex $k$-partiteness, respectively.

A note on "Extremal graphs with bounded vertex bipartiteness number"
This paper is devoted to present two counterexamples to the theorem from \cite{MK} Maria R., Katherine T. M., Bernardo S. M., Extremal graphs with bounded vertex bipartiteness number, Linear Algebra Appl. 493 (2016) 28-36. Moreover, the corrected theorem and proof are presented.

Sharp upper bounds for multiplicative Zagreb indices of bipartite graphs with given diameter
Published • View PublicationBIB
The first multiplicative Zagreb index of a graph $G$ is the product of the square of every vertex degree, while the second multiplicative Zagreb index is the product of the degree of each edge over all edges. In our work, we explore the multiplicative Zagreb indices of bipartite graphs of order $n$ with diameter $d$, and sharp upper bounds are obtained for these indices of graphs in $\mathcal{B}(n,d)$, where $\mathcal{B}(n, d)$ is the set of all $n$-vertex bipartite graphs with the diameter $d$. In addition, we explore the relationship between the maximal multiplicative Zagreb indices of graphs \textcolor{blue}{within} $\mathcal{B}(n, d)$. As consequences, those bipartite graphs with the largest, second-largest and smallest multiplicative Zagreb indices are characterized, and our results extend and enrich some known conclusions.

On the Number of Conjugate Classes of Derangements
Published in Journal of Mathematics, Volume 2021, Article ID 6023081, 20 pages • View PublicationBIB
The number of conjugate classes of derangements of order $n$ is the same as the number $h(n)$ of the restricted partitions with every portion greater than $1$. It is also equal to the number of isotopy classes of $2\times n$ Latin rectangles. Sometimes the exact value is necessary, while sometimes we need the approximation value. In this paper, a recursion formula of $h(n)$ will be obtained, also will some elementary approximation formulae with high accuracy for $h(n)$ be presented. Although we may obtain the value of $h(n)$ in some computer algebra system, it is still meaningful to find an efficient way to calculate the approximate value, especially in engineering, since most people are familiar with neither programming nor CAS software. This paper is mainly for the readers who need a simple and practical formula to obtain the approximate value (without writing a program) with more accuracy, such as to compute the value in an pocket science calculator without programming function. Some methods used here can also be applied to find the fitting functions for some types of data obtained in experiments.
Bounds of Zagreb indices and hyper Zagreb indices
The hyper Zagreb index is a kind of extensions of Zagreb index, used for predicting physicochemical properties of organic compounds. Given a graph $G= (V(G), E(G))$, the first hyper-Zagreb index is the sum of the square of edge degree over edge set $E(G)$ and defined as $HM_1(G)=\sum_{e=uv\in E(G)}d(e)^2$, where $d(e)=d(u)+d(v)$ is the edge degree. In this work we define the second hyper-Zagreb index on the adjacent edges as $HM_2(G)=\sum_{e\sim f}d(e)d(f)$, where $e\sim f$ represents the adjacent edges of $G$. By inequalities, we explore some upper and lower bounds of these hyper-Zagreb indices, and provide the relation between Zagreb indices and hyper Zagreb indices.

kirchhoff index and degree kirchhoff index of complete multipartite graph
Published • View PublicationBIB
The Kirchhoff index of a graph is defined as half of the sum of all effective resistance distances between any two vertices. Assuming a complete multipartite graph G, by methods from linear algebra we explicitly formulate effective resistance distances between any two vertices of G, and its Kirchhoff index. In rest of paper we explore extremal value of Kirchhoff index for multipartite graphs

On extremal multiplicative Zagreb indices of trees with given number of vertices of maximum degree
Published • View PublicationBIB
The first multiplicative Zagreb index of a graph $G$ is the product of the square of every vertex degree, while the second multiplicative Zagreb index is the product of the products of degrees of pairs of adjacent vertices. In this paper, we explore the trees in terms of given number of vertices of maximum degree. The maximum and minimum values of $\prod_1(G) $ and $\prod_2(G) $ of trees with arbitrary number of maximum degree are provided. In addition, the corresponding extremal graphs are characterized.

On extremal multiplicative Zagreb indices of trees with given domination number
Published • View PublicationBIB
For a graph $G$, the first multiplicative Zagreb index $\prod_1$ is equal to the product of squares of the vertex degrees, and the second multiplicative Zagreb index $\prod_2$ is equal to the product of the products of degrees of pairs of adjacent vertices. The (mutiplicative) Zagreb indices have been the focus of considerable research in computational chemistry dating back to Gutman and Trinajstić in 1972. In this paper, we explore the mutiplicative Zagreb indices in terms of arbitrary domination number. The sharp upper and lower bounds of $\prod_1(G)$ and $\prod_2(G)$ are given. In addition, the corresponding extreme graphs are charaterized.

Resistance distance and Kirchhoff index in the corona-vertex and the corona $-$ edge of subdivision graph
Published • View PublicationBIB
The subdivision graph $S(G)$ of a graph $G$ is the graph obtained by inserting a new vertex into every edge of $G$. In $\cite{PL}$, two classes of new corona graphs, the corona-vertex of the subdivision graph $G_{1}\diamondsuit G_{2}$ and corona-edge of the subdivision graph $G_{1}\star G_{2}$ were defined. The adjacency spectrum and the signless Laplacian spectrum of the two new graphs were computed when $G_{1}$ is an arbitrary graph and $G_{2}$ is an $r$-regular graph. In this paper, we give the formulate of the resistance distance and the Kirchhoff index in $G_{1}\diamondsuit G_{2}$ and $G_{1}\star G_{2}$ when $G_{1}$ and $G_{2}$ are arbitrary graphs. These results generalize them in $\cite{PL}$.

Structure Properties of Koch Networks Based on Networks Dynamical Systems
Published • View PublicationBIB
We introduce an informative labeling algorithm for the vertices of a family of Koch networks. Each of the labels is consisted of two parts, the precise position and the time adding to Koch networks. The shortest path routing between any two vertices is determined only on the basis of their labels, and the routing is calculated only by few computations. The rigorous solutions of betweenness centrality for every node and edge are also derived by the help of their labels. Furthermore, the community structure in Koch networks is studied by the current and voltage characteristics of its resistor networks.
Bicyclic graphs with extremal degree resistance distance
Let $r(u,v)$ be the resistance distance between two vertices $u, v$ of a simple graph $G$, which is the effective resistance between the vertices in the corresponding electrical network constructed from $G$ by replacing each edge of $G$ with a unit resistor. The degree resistance distance of a simple graph $G$ is defined as ${D_R}(G) = \sum\limits_{\{u,v\} \subseteq V(G)} {[d(u) + d(v)]r(u,v)},$ where $d(u)$ is the degree of the vertex $u$. In this paper, the bicyclic graphs with extremal degree resistance distance are strong-minded. We first determine the $n$-vertex bicyclic graphs having precisely two cycles with minimum and maximum degree resistance distance. We then completely characterize the bicyclic graphs with extremal degree resistance distance.
Further results on degree based topological indices of certain chemical networks
Published • View PublicationBIB
There are various topological indices such as degree based topological indices, distance based topological indices and counting related topological indices etc. These topological indices correlate certain physicochemical properties such as boiling point, stability of chemical compounds. In this paper, we compute the sum-connectivity index and multiplicative Zagreb indices for certain networks of chemical importance like silicate networks, hexagonal networks, oxide networks, and honeycomb networks. Moreover, a comparative study using computer-based graphs has been made to clarify their nature for these families of networks.

The maximum degree resistance distance of cacti
Various topological indices, based on the distances between the vertices of a graph, are widely used in theoretical chemistry. The degree resistance distance of a graph $G$ is defined as ${D_R}(G) = \sum\limits_{\{u,v\} \subseteq V(G)} {[d(u) + d(v)]R(u,v)},$ where $d(u)$ is the degree of the vertex $u,$ and $R(u, v)$ the resistance distance between the vertices $u$ and $v.$ A graph $G$ is called a cactus if each block of $G$ is either an edge or a cycle. In this paper, we completely characterize the extremal cacti having the maximum degree resistance distance among all cacti with $n$ vertices and $t$ cycles, and extend some results of a recent paper [J. Tu, J. Du, G. Su, The unicyclic graphs with maximum degree resistance distance, Appl. Math. Comput. 268 (2015) 859-864].

Maximizing Kirchhoff index of unicyclic graphs with fixed maximum degree
The Kirchhoff index of a connected graph is the sum of resistance distances between all unordered pairs of vertices in the graph. Its considerable applications are found in a variety of fields. In this paper, we determine the maximum value of Kirchhoff index among the unicyclic graphs with fixed number of vertices and maximum degree, and characterize the corresponding extremal graph.
Further results regarding the degree resistance distance of cacti

A graph $G$ is called a cactus if each block of $G$ is either an edge or a cycle. Denote by $Cact(n;t)$ the set of connected cacti possessing $n$ vertices and $t$ cycles. In this paper, we show that there are some errors in [J. Du, G. Su, J. Tu, I. Gutman, The degree resistance distance of cacti, Discrete Appl. Math. 188 (2015) 16-24.], and we present some results which correct their mistakes. We also give the second-minimum and third-minimum degree resistance distances among graphs in $Cact(n;t)$, and characterize the corresponding extremal graphs as well.

Resistance distances in corona and neighborhood corona graphs with Laplacian generalized inverse approach
Let $G_1$ and $G_2$ be two graphs on disjoint sets of $n_1$ and $n_2$ vertices, respectively. The corona of graphs $G_1$ and $G_2$, denoted by $G_1\circ G_2$, is the graph formed from one copy of $G_1$ and $n_1$ copies of $G_2$ where the $i$-th vertex of $G_1$ is adjacent to every vertex in the $i$-th copy of $G_2$. The neighborhood corona of $G_1$ and $G_2$, denoted by $G_1\diamond G_2$, is the graph obtained by taking one copy of $G_1$ and $n_1$ copies of $G_2$ and joining every neighbor of the $i$-th vertex of $G_1$ to every vertex in the $i$-th copy of $G_2$ by a new edge. In this paper, the Laplacian generalized inverse for the graphs $G_1\circ G_2$ and $G_1\diamond G_2$ are investigated, based on which the resistance distances of any two vertices in $G_1\circ G_2$ and $G_1\diamond G_2$ can be obtained. Moreover, some examples as applications are presented, which illustrate the correction and efficiency of the proposed method.

The Laplacian polynomial of graphs derived from regular graphs and applications
Let $R(G)$ be the graph obtained from $G$ by adding a new vertex corresponding to each edge of $G$ and by joining each new vertex to the end vertices of the corresponding edge. Let $RT(G)$ be the graph obtained from $R(G)$ by adding a new edge corresponding to every vertex of $G$, and by joining each new edge to every vertex of $G$. In this paper, we determine the Laplacian polynomials of $RT(G)$ of a regular graph $G$. Moreover, we derive formulae and lower bounds of Kirchhoff index of the graphs. Finally we also present the formulae for calculating the Kirchhoff index of some special graphs as applications, which show the correction and efficiency of the proposed results.
Asymptotic Laplacian-Energy-Like Invariant of Lattices
Published • View PublicationBIB
Let $μ_1\ge μ_2\ge\cdots\geμ_n$ denote the Laplacian eigenvalues of $G$ with $n$ vertices. The Laplacian-energy-like invariant, denoted by $LEL(G)= \sum_{i=1}^{n-1}\sqrt{μ_i}$, is a novel topological index. In this paper, we show that the Laplacian-energy-like per vertex of various lattices is independent of the toroidal, cylindrical, and free boundary conditions. Simultaneously, the explicit asymptotic values of the Laplacian-energy-like in these lattices are obtained. Moreover, our approach implies that in general the Laplacian-energy-like per vertex of other lattices is independent of the boundary conditions.
