Extremal graphs for the maximum $A_α$-spectral radius of graphs with order and size
In 1986, Brualdi and Solheid firstly proposed the problem of determining the maximum spectral radius of graphs in the set $\mathcal{H}_{n,m}$ consisting of all simple connected graphs with $n$ vertices and $m$ edges, which is a very tough problem and far from resolved. The $A_α$-spectral radius of a simple graph of order $n$, denoted by $ρ_α(G)$, is the largest eigenvalue of the matrix
$A_α(G)$ which is defined as $αD(G)+(1-α)A(G)$ for $0\le α< 1$, where $D(G)$ and $A(G)$ are the degree diagonal and adjacency matrices of $G$, respectively. In this paper, if $r$ is a positive integer, $n>30r$ and $n-1\leq m \le rn-\frac{r(r+1)}{2}$, we characterize all extremal graphs which have the maximum $A_α$-spectral radius of graphs in the set $\mathcal{H}_{n,m}$. Moreover, the problem on $A_α$-spectral radius proposed by
Chang and Tam [T.-C. Chang and B.-T. Tam, Graphs of fixed order and size with maximal $A_α$-index. Linear Algebra Appl. 673 (2023), 69-100] has been solved.
A generalization of the Hamiltonian cycle in dense digraphs
Let D be a digraph and C be a cycle in D. For any two vertices x and y in D, the distance from x to y is the minimum length of a path from x to y. We denote the square of Let $D$ be a digraph and $C$ be a cycle in $D$. For any two vertices $x$ and $y$ in $D$, the distance from $x$ to $y$ is the minimum length of a path from $x$ to $y$. We denote the square of the cycle $C$ to be the graph whose vertex set is $V(C)$ and for distinct vertices $x$ and $y$ in $C$, there is an arc from $x$ to $y$ if and only if the distance from $x$ to $y$ in $C$ is at most $2$. The reverse square of the cycle $C$ is the digraph with the same vertex set as $C$, and the arc set $A(C)\cup \{yx: \mbox{the vertices}\ x, y\in V(C)\ \mbox{and the distance from $x$ to $y$ on $C$ is $2$}\}$. In this paper, we show that for any real number $γ>0$ there exists a constant $n_0=n_0(γ)$, such that every digraph on $n\geq n_0$ vertices with the minimum in- and out-degree at least $(2/3+γ)n$ contains the reverse square of a Hamiltonian cycle. Our result extends a result of Czygrinow, Kierstead and Molla.
Cycle-factors in oriented graphs
Let $k$ be a positive integer. A $k$-cycle-factor of an oriented graph is a set of disjoint cycles of length $k$ that covers all vertices of the graph. In this paper, we prove that there exists a positive constant $c$ such that for $n$ sufficiently large, any oriented graph on $n$ vertices with both minimum out-degree and minimum in-degree at least $(1/2-c)n$ contains a $k$-cycle-factor for any $k\geq4$. Additionally, under the same hypotheses, we also show that for any sequence $n_1, \ldots, n_t$ with $\sum^t_{i=1}n_i=n$ and the number of the $n_i$ equal to $3$ is $αn$, where $α$ is any real number with $0<α<1/3$, the oriented graph contains $t$ disjoint cycles of lengths $n_1, \ldots, n_t$. This conclusion is the best possible in some sense and refines a result of Keevash and Sudakov.

Let c be an integer. A c-partite tournament is an orientation of a complete c-partite graph. A c-partite tournament is rich if it is strong, and each partite set has at least two vertices. In 1996, Guo and Volkmann characterized the structure of all rich c-partite tournaments without (c + 1)-cycles, which solved a problem by Bondy. They also put forward a problem that what the structure of rich c-partite tournaments without (c + k)-cycles for some k>1 is. In this paper, we answer the question of Guo and Volkmann for k = 2.

The Steiner distance of vertices in a set $S$ is the minimum size of a connected subgraph that contain these vertices. The sum of the Steiner distances over all sets $S$ of cardinality $k$ is called the Steiner $k$-Wiener index and studied as the natural generalization of the famous Wiener index in chemical graph theory. In this paper we study the extremal structures, among trees with a given segment sequence, that maximize or minimize the Steiner $k$-Wiener index. The same extremal problems are also considered for trees with a given number of segments.

In this paper, we present an equitable partition theorem of tensors, which gives the relations between $H$-eigenvalues of a tensor and its quotient equitable tensor and extends the equitable partitions of graphs to hypergraphs. Furthermore, with the aid of it, some properties and $H$-eigenvalues of the generalized power hypergraphs are obtained, which extends some known results, including some results of Yuan, Qi and Shao.
Non-Leaving-Face property for marked surfaces
We consider the polytope arising from a marked surface by flips of triangulations. Sleator, Tarjan and Thurston studied in 1988 the diameter of the associahedron, which is the polytope arising from a marked disc by flips of triangulations. They showed that every shortest path between two vertices in a face does not leave that face. We establish that same non-leaving-face property for all unpunctured marked surfaces.

Let $G$ be a graph of order $n$ and let $\mathcal{L}(G,λ)=\sum_{k=0}^n (-1)^{k}c_{k}(G)λ^{n-k}$ be the characteristic polynomial of its Laplacian matrix. Motivated by Ilić and Ilić's conjecture [A. Ilić, M. Ilić, Laplacian coefficients of trees with given number of leaves or vertices of degree two, Linear Algebra and its Applications 431(2009)2195-2202.] on all extremal graphs which minimize all the Laplacian coefficients in the set $\mathcal{U}_{n,l}$ of all $n$-vertex unicyclic graphs with the number of leaves $l$, we investigate properties of the minimal elements in the partial set $(\mathcal{U}_{n,l}^g, \preceq)$ of the Laplacian coefficients, where $\mathcal{U}_{n,l}^g$ denote the set of $n$-vertex unicyclic graphs with the number of leaves $l$ and girth $g$. These results are used to disprove their conjecture. Moreover, the graphs with minimum Laplacian-like energy in $\mathcal{U}_{n,l}^g$ are also studied.

Let $G$ be an unicyclic graph of order $n$ and let $Q_G(x)= det(xI-Q(G))={matrix} \sum_{i=1}^n (-1)^i \varphi_i x^{n-i}{matrix}$ be the characteristic polynomial of the signless Laplacian matrix of a graph $G$. We give some transformations of $G$ which decrease all signless Laplacian coefficients in the set $\mathcal{G}(n,m)$. $\mathcal{G}(n,m)$ denotes all n-vertex unicyclic graphs with matching number $m$. We characterize the graphs which minimize all the signless Laplacian coefficients in the set $\mathcal{G}(n,m)$ with odd (resp. even) girth. Moreover, we find the extremal graphs which have minimal signless Laplacian coefficients in the set $\mathcal{G}(n)$ of all $n$-vertex unicyclic graphs with odd (resp. even) girth.

Let $G$ be a graph of order $n$ and $Q_G(x)= det(xI-Q(G))= \sum_{i=1}^n (-1)^i \varphi_i x^{n-i}$ be the characteristic polynomial of the signless Laplacian matrix of a graph $G$. We give some transformations of $G$ which decrease all signless Laplacian coefficients in the set $\mathcal{B}(n)$ of all $n$-vertex bicyclic graphs. $\mathcal{B}^1(n)$ denotes all n-vertex bicyclic graphs with at least one odd cycle. We show that $B_n^1$ (obtained from $C_4$ by adding one edge between two non-adjacent vertices and adding $n-4$ pendent vertices at the vertex of degree 3) minimizes all the signless Laplacian coefficients in the set $\mathcal{B}^1(n)$. Moreover, we prove that $B_n^2$ (obtained from $K_{2,3}$ by adding $n-5$ pendent vertices at one vertex of degree 3) has minimum signless Laplacian coefficients in the set $\mathcal{B}^2(n)$ of all $n$-vertex bicyclic graphs with two even cycles.
On a Conjecture of Randić Index and Graph Radius

The Randić index $R(G)$ of a graph $G$ is defined as the sum of $(d_i d_j)^{-1/2}$ over all edges $v_i v_j$ of $G$, where $d_i$ is the degree of the vertex $v_i$ in $G$. The radius $r(G)$ of a graph $G$ is the minimum graph eccentricity of any graph vertex in $G$. Fajtlowicz(1988) conjectures $R(G) \ge r(G)-1$ for all connected graph $G$. A stronger version, $R(G) \ge r(G)$, is conjectured by Caporossi and Hansen(2000) for all connected graphs except even paths. In this paper, we make use of Harmonic index $H(G)$, which is defined as the sum of $\frac{2}{d_i+d_j}$ over all edges $v_i v_j$ of $G$, to show that $R(G) \ge r(G)-31/105(k-1)$ for any graph with cyclomatic number $k\ge 1$, and $R(T)> r(T)+1/15$ for any tree except even paths. These results improve and strengthen the known results on these conjectures.

The Faber-Krahn inequality states that the ball has minimal first Dirichlet eigenvalue among all bounded domains with the fixed volume in $\mathbb{R}^n$. In this paper, we investigate the similar inequality for unicyclic graphs. The results show that the Faber-Krahn type inequality also holds for unicyclic graphs with a given graphic unicyclic degree sequence with minor conditions.
