Orthogonal Colourings of Random Geometric Graphs
In this paper, we study orthogonal colourings of random geometric graphs. Two colourings of a graph are orthogonal if they have the property that when two vertices receive the same colour in one colouring, then those vertices receive distinct colours in the other colouring. A random geometric graph $RG(n,r)$ is a graph constructed by randomly placing $n$ vertices in the unit square and connecting two vertices with an edge if and only if their distance is less than the threshold $r$. We show first that random geometric graphs with $r>n^{-α}$, where $0\leq α\leq\frac{1}{4}$, have an orthogonal colouring using $n^{1-2α}(1+o(1))$ colours with high probability. Then, we show for an infinite number of values of $n$, random geometric graphs with threshold $r<cn^{-\frac{1}{4}}$, $c<1$, have an optimal orthogonal colouring with high probability. We obtain both of these results by constructing orthogonal colourings of the clique grid graph.
Existence of Optimally-Greatest Digraphs for Strongly Connected Node Reliability

In this paper, we introduce a new model to study network reliability with node failures. This model, strongly connected node reliability, is the directed variant of node reliability and measures the probability that the operational vertices induce a subdigraph that is strongly connected. If we are restricted to directed graphs with $n$ vertices and $n+1\leq m\leq 2n-3$ or $m=2n$ arcs, an optimally-greatest digraph does not exist. Furthermore, we study optimally-greatest directed circulant graphs when the vertices operate with probability $p$ near zero and near one.
In particular, we show that the graph $Γ\left(\mathbb{Z}_n,\{1,-1\}\right)$ is optimally-greatest for values of $p$ near zero. Then, we determine that the graph $Γ\left(\mathbb{Z}_{n},\{1,\frac{n+2}{2}\}\right)$ is optimally-greatest for values of $p$ near one when $n$ is even. Next, we show that the graph $Γ\left(\mathbb{Z}_{n},\{1,2(3^{-1})\}\right)$ is optimally-greatest for values of $p$ near one when $n$ is odd and not divisible by three and that $Γ\left(\mathbb{Z}_{n},\{1,3(2^{-1})\}\right)$ is optimally-greatest for values of $p$ near one when $n$ is odd and divisible by three. We conclude with a discussion of open problems.

In this paper, perfect k-orthogonal colourings of tensor graphs are studied. First, the problem of determining if a given graph has a perfect 2-orthogonal colouring is reformulated as a tensor subgraph problem. Then, it is shown that if two graphs have a perfect $k$-orthogonal colouring, then so does their tensor graph. This provides an upper bound on the $k$-orthogonal chromatic number for general tensor graphs. Lastly, two other conditions for a tensor graph to have a perfect $k$-orthogonal colouring are given.

In this paper, two open conjectures are disproved. One conjecture regards independent coverings of sparse partite graphs, whereas the other conjecture regards orthogonal colourings of tree graphs. A relation between independent coverings and orthogonal colourings is established. This relation is applied to find independent coverings of some sparse partite graphs. Additionally, a degree condition providing the existence of an independent covering in the case where the graph has a square number of vertices is found.

Two colourings of a graph are orthogonal if they have the property that when two vertices are coloured with the same colour in one colouring, then those vertices receive distinct colours in the other colouring. In this paper, orthogonal colourings of Cayley graphs are discussed. Firstly, the orthogonal chromatic number of cycle graphs are completely determined. Secondly, the orthogonal chromatic number of certain circulant graphs is explored. Lastly, orthogonal colourings of product graphs and Hamming graphs are studied.

A graph is k-total colourable if there is an assignment of k different colours to the vertices and edges of the graph such that no two adjacent nor incident elements receive the same colour. The total chromatic number of some direct product graphs are determined. In particular, a sufficient condition is given for direct products of bipartite graphs to have total chromatic number equal to its maximum degree plus one. Partial results towards the total chromatic number of the direct product of complete graphs are also established.
