On some properties of free commutators with semicircular variables
We investigate commutators of free variables of the form \( i[x, s] \), where \( s \) is a semicircular element. We show that although \( s \) and \( i[x, s] \) are not free, their sum nevertheless satisfies the free additive convolution identity \[ μ_{s + i[x, s]} = μ_s \boxplus μ_{i[x, s]}. \] Furthermore, we prove that the polynomial \( x + i[x, s] \) is freely infinitely divisible whenever \( x \) itself is freely infinitely divisible.

On partial transposes of unitarily invariant random matrices
We compute the limit distribution of partial transposes (when both the number and the size of blocks tends to infinity) for a large class of ensembles of unitarily invariant random matrices. Furthermore, it is shown the asymptotic freeness relation between the ensembles of random matrices, their transposes and their left and right partial transposes.

Answer to a question by A. Mandarino, T. Linowski and K. Życzkowski
Published • View PublicationBIB
A recent work by A. Mandarino, T. Linowski and K. Życzkowski left open the following question. If $ μ_N $ is a certain permutation of entries of a $ N^2 \times N^2 $ matrix ("mixing map") and $ U_N $ is a $ N^2 \times N^2 $ Haar unitary random matrix, then is the family $ U_N, U_N^{μ_N}, ( U_N^2 )^{μ_N}, \dots , ( U_N^m)^{μ_N} $ asymptotically free? (here by $A^{ μ}$ we understand the matrix resulted by permuting the entries of $ A $ according to the permutation $ μ$). This paper presents some techniques for approaching such problems. In particular, one easy consequence of the main result is that the question above has an affirmative answer.

The Partial Transpose and Asymptotic Free Independence for Wishart Random Matrices: Part II
Published in Pacific J. Math. 317 (2022) 387-421 • View PublicationBIB
Using new combinatorial techniques, we significantly improve the previous results on asymptotic distributions and asymptotic free independence relations of partial transposes of Wishart random matrices. In particular, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for the asymptotic free independence of partial transposes of Wishart matrices with difference block sizes.

Asymptotic free independence and entry permutations for Gaussian random matrices
The paper presents conditions on entry permutations that induce asymptotic freeness when acting on Gaussian random matrices. The class of permutations described includes the matrix transpose, as well as entry permutations relevant in Quantum Information Theory and Quantum Physics.

An asymptotic property of large matrices with identically distributed Boolean independent entries
Published • View PublicationBIB
Motivated by the recent work on asymptotic independence relations for random matrices with non-commutative entries, we investigate the limit distribution and independence relations for large matrices with identically distributed and Boolean independent entries. More precisely, we show that, under some moment conditions, such random matrices are asymptotically $ B $-diagonal and Boolean independent from each other. The paper also gives a combinatorial condition under which such matrices are asymptotically Boolean independent from the matrix obtained by permuting the entries (thus extending a recent result in Boolean probability). In particular, we show that random matrices considered are asymptotically Boolean independent from their partial transposes. The main results of the paper are based on combinatorial techniques.

Non-crossing linked partitions and multiplication of free random variables
The material gives a new combinatorial proof of the multiplicative property of the S-transform. In particular, several properties of the coefficients of its inverse are connected to non-crossing linked partitions and planar trees.

On multiplicative conditionally free convolution
Published • View PublicationBIB
Using the combinatorics of non-crossing partitions, we construct a conditionally free analogue of the Voiculescu's S-transform. The result is applied to analytical description of conditionally free multiplicative convolution and characterization of infinite divisibility.

A new proof for the multiplicative property of the boolean cumulants with applications to operator-valued case
Published • View PublicationBIB
The paper presents several combinatorial properties of the boolean cumulants. A corollary is a new proof of the multiplicative property of the boolean cumulant series that can be easily adapted for the case of boolean independence with amalgamation over an algebra.

Freeness with amalgamation, limit theorems and S-transform in non-commutative probability spaces of type B
Published • View PublicationBIB
The present material addresses several problems left open in the Trans. AMS paper " Non-crossing cumulants of type B" of P. Biane, F. Goodman and A. Nica. The main result is that a type B non-commutative probability space can be studied in the framework of freeness with amalgamation. This view allows easy ways of constructing a version of the S-transform as well as proving analogue results to Central Limit Theorem and Poisson Limit Theorem.
Zimmermann Type Cancellation in the Free Faa di Bruno Algebra
Published • View PublicationBIB
The N-variable Hopf algebra introduced by Brouder, Fabretti, and Krattenaler (BFK) in the context of non-commutative Lagrange inversion can be identified with the inverse of the incidence algebra of N-colored interval partitions. The (BFK) antipode and its reflection determine the (generally distinct) left and right inverses of power series with non-commuting coefficients and N non-commuting variables. As in the case of the Faa di Bruno Hopf algebra, there is an analogue of the Zimmermann cancellation formula. The summands of the (BFK) antipode can indexed by the depth first ordering of vertices on contracted planar trees, and the same applies to the interval partition antipode. Both can also be indexed by the breadth first ordering of vertices in the non-order contractible planar trees in which precisely one non-degenerate vertex occurs on each level.
