On the Homotopy Type of Balanced subsets
For a finite set of points $V=\{v_1, \dots, v_m\}$ in Euclidean space $\mathbb{R}^d$ and a point $r \in \mathbb{R}^d$, a subset $S \subset V$ is called $r$-balanced if $\mathrm{relint}(\mathrm{conv}(S)) \cap r \neq \emptyset$. In the case when $r$ is a point in the relative interior of the whole set $\mathrm{conv}(V)$, we prove that the poset of all balanced subsets, excluding the whole set $V$, is homotopy equivalent to the sphere of dimension $m-k-2$, where $k$ is the dimension of the affine hull of $V$.

Combinatorics of Minimal Balanced Collections
In this article, we explore the combinatorics of balanced collections. A collection of subsets of the set $[n] = \{1, \dots, n\}$ is called \emph{balanced} if the relative interior of the convex hull of the corresponding characteristic vectors intersects the main diagonal of the $n$-dimensional cube, and it is called \emph{minimal} if it contains no proper balanced subcollections. In particular, we establish both upper and lower bounds for the number of minimal balanced collections. Specifically, we prove that if $B_n$ denotes the number of minimal balanced collections, then $\frac{0.288}{n!} \, 2^{(n-1)^2} < B_n < \frac{120}{n!} \, 2^{n^2 - n}$.

Balanced sets and homotopy invariants of covers
In this paper, we study a construction of homotopy invariants of open or closed covers, where the homotopy class is defined relative to a pair $(V,r)$, with $V$ a finite set of points in $\mathbb{R}^d$ and $r$ a point in the interior of their convex hull. We show that the simplicial complex of non-balanced subsets associated with $(V,r)$ has the homotopy type of a sphere, and use this to develop a theory of homotopy invariants of covers relative to balanced sets. A key result is that the homotopy class of a cover depends only, up to an involution, on the balanced-equivalence class of $(V,r)$. As applications, we obtain extension theorems for covers in this setting and derive the KKMS lemma, its analogues, and related combinatorial fixed-point results.

On Scarf's theorem for generalized cooperative games with external relations
In this paper, we consider a generalization of cooperative games to the case where a coalition can distribute the earned utility not only among its members but also to other players. In particular, we consider an example where coalitions are required to share their winnings with non-contributing players. For these generalized games, we also provide an analogue of Scarf's theorem. It turns out that in this generalization, the existence of a non-empty core is closely related to a homotopy invariant of covers defined by the cooperative game.

Balanced 2-subsets
Balanced sets appeared in the 1960s in cooperative game theory as a part of nonempty core conditions. In this paper we present a classification of balanced families containing only 2-element subsets. We also discuss generalizations of the classical Sperner and Tucker lemmas using balanced sets.
