Radon Partitions of Random Gaussian Polytopes
In this paper we study a probabilistic framework for Radon partitions, where our points are chosen independently from the $d$-dimensional normal distribution. For every point set we define a corresponding Radon polytope, which encodes all information about Radon partitions of our set - with Radon partitions corresponding to faces of the polytope. This allows us to derive expressions for the probability that a given partition of $N$ randomly chosen points in $\mathbb{R}^d$ forms a Radon partition. These expressions involve conic kinematic formulas and intrinsic volumes, and in general require repeated integration, though we obtain closed formulas in some cases. This framework can provide new perspectives on open problems that can be formulated in terms of Radon partitions, such as Reay's relaxed Tverberg conjecture.
Unimodality for Radon partitions of random vectors
Consider the (almost surely) unique Radon partition of a set of $n$ random Gaussian vectors in $\mathbb R^{n-2}$; choose one of the two parts of this partition uniformly at random, and for $0 \le k \le n$, let $p_k$ denote the probability that it has size $k$. In this paper, we prove strong unimodality results for the distribution $(p_0,\dots,p_n)$.
A Van Kampen type obstruction for string graphs
In this paper we prove that a graph is a string graph (the intersection graph of curves in the plane) if and only if it admits a drawing in the plane with certain properties. This also allows us to define an algebraic obstruction, similar to the Van Kampen obstruction to embeddability, which must vanish for every string graph. However, unlike in the case of graph planarity this obstruction is incomplete.
d-representability as an embedding problem
An abstract simplicial complex is said to be $d$-representable if it records the intersection pattern of a collection of convex sets in $\mathbb{R}^d$. In this paper, we show that $d$-representability of a simplicial complex is equivalent to the existence of a map with certain properties, from a closely related simplicial complex into $\mathbb{R}^d$. This equivalence suggests a framework for proving (and disproving) $d$-representability of simplicial complexes using topological methods such as applications of the Borsuk-Ulam theorem, which we begin to explore.

A theorem of Tverberg from 1966 asserts that every set $X\subset\mathbb{R}^d$ of $n=T(d,r)=(d+1)(r-1)+1$ points can be partitioned into $r$ pairwise disjoint subsets, whose convex hulls have a point in common. Thus every such partition induces an integer partition of $n$ into $r$ parts (that is, $r$ integers $a_1,\ldots,a_r$ satisfying $n=a_1+\cdots+a_r$), where the parts $a_i$ correspond to the number of points in every subset. In this paper, we prove that for any partition $a_i\le d+1$, $i=1,\ldots,r$, there exists a set $X\subset\mathbb{R}^d$ of $n$ points, such that every Tverberg partition of $X$ induces the same partition on $n$, given by the parts $a_1,\ldots,a_r$.
