On ADEG-polyhedra in hyperbolic spaces
In this paper, we establish that the non-zero dihedral angles of hyperbolic Coxeter polyhedra of large dimensions are not arbitrarily small. Namely, for dimensions $n\geq 32$, they are of the form $\fracπ{m}$ with $m\leq 6$. Moreover, this property holds in all dimensions $n\geq 7$ for Coxeter polyhedra with mutually intersecting facets. Then, we develop a constructive procedure tailored to Coxeter polyhedra with prescribed dihedral angles, from which we derive the complete classification of ADEG-polyhedra, characterized by having no pair of disjoint facets and dihedral angles $\fracπ{2}, \fracπ{3}$ and $\fracπ{6}$, only. Besides some well-known simplices and pyramids, there are three exceptional polyhedra, one of which is a new polyhedron $P_{\star}\subset \mathbb H^9$ with $14$ facets.

Coxeter systems with $2$-dimensional Davis complexes, growth rates and Perron numbers
Published in Algebr. Geom. Topol. 24 (2024) 1787-1808 • View PublicationBIB
In this paper, we study growth rates of Coxeter systems with Davis complexes of dimension at most $2$. We show that if the Euler characteristic $χ$ of the nerve of a Coxeter system is vanishing (resp. positive), then its growth rate is a Salem (resp. a Pisot) number. In this way, we extend results due to Floyd and Parry. Moreover, in the case where $χ$ is negative, we provide infinitely many non-hyperbolic Coxeter systems whose growth rates are Perron numbers.

Hyperbolic Coxeter groups of minimal growth rates in higher dimensions
Published • View PublicationBIB
The cusped hyperbolic n-orbifolds of minimal volume are well known for $n \leq 9$. Their fundamental groups are related to the Coxeter n-simplex groups $Γ_n$ listed in Table 1. In this work, we prove that $Γ_n$ has minimal growth rate among all non-cocompact Coxeter groups of finite covolume in $\hbox{Isom}\mathbb H^n$. In this way, we extend previous results of Floyd for $n = 2$ and of Kellerhals for $n = 3$ respectively. Our proof is a generalisation of the methods developed in [2] for the cocompact case.

Hyperbolic Coxeter groups and minimal growth rates in dimensions four and five
Published • View PublicationBIB
For small $n$, the known compact hyperbolic $n$-orbifolds of minimal volume are intimately related to Coxeter groups of smallest rank. For $n=2$ and $3$, these Coxeter groups are given by the triangle group $[7,3]$ and the tetrahedral group $[3,5,3]$, and they are also distinguished by the fact that they have minimal growth rate among all cocompact hyperbolic Coxeter groups in $\hbox{Isom}\mathbb H^n$, respectively. In this work, we consider the cocompact Coxeter simplex group $G_4$ with Coxeter symbol $[5,3,3,3]$ in $\hbox{Isom}\mathbb H^4$ and the cocompact Coxeter prism group $G_5$ based on $[5,3,3,3,3]$ in $\hbox{Isom}\mathbb H^5$. Both groups are arithmetic and related to the fundamental group of the minimal volume arithmetic compact hyperbolic $n$-orbifold for $n=4$ and $5$, respectively. Here, we prove that the group $G_n$ is distinguished by having smallest growth rate among all Coxeter groups acting cocompactly on $\mathbb H^n$ for $n=4$ and $5$, respectively. The proof is based on combinatorial properties of compact hyperbolic Coxeter polyhedra, some partial classification results and certain monotonicity properties of growth rates of the associated Coxeter groups.
