The critical probability for percolation on finite graphs
We determine the critical probability for Bernoulli bond percolation on essentially any finite graph. Namely, letting $λ(G)$ denote the spectral radius (maximum eigenvalue) of $G$, we prove that the critical probability is at $1/λ(G)$: above this probability there is typically a component of order $Ω(λ(G))$, whereas below it all components are of order at most $O(\sqrt{|G|})$. These results in particular confirm a conjecture of Krivelevich and Samotij about percolation on graphs of a given average degree, and vastly extend theorems of Bollobás, Borgs, Chayes, and Riordan, who proved analogous results but only for dense graphs. Our theorems are optimal in many regimes, and also demonstrate that percolation has an unexpectedly subtle behaviour on graphs whose spectral radius is roughly the square root of their maximum degree.
Nearly tight bounds for induced subdivisions
Subdivisions of complete graphs play a central role in combinatorics, having deep connections to structural, extremal, and topological aspects of graph theory. A celebrated conjecture of Mader, proved independently by Bollobás and Thomason and by Komlós and Szemerédi, states that every graph of average degree of order $h^2$ contains a subdivision of $K_h$. In this paper, we consider the induced variant of this problem. A theorem of Kühn and Osthus implies that, for every fixed graph $H$ and every $s\ge 1$, graphs of sufficiently large average degree contain either a copy of $K_{s,s}$ or an induced subdivision of $H$. However, even for $H=K_h$, the best previous quantitative bounds were far from optimal. We prove nearly tight bounds for forcing induced subdivisions of $K_h$. We show that every $K_{s,t}$-free graph of average degree $Ω_{s,t}(h^{2(s-1)}\log^{7(s-1)} h)$ contains an induced subdivision of $K_h$, and that every $C_{2k}$-free graph with $k \geq 3$ and average degree $Ω_k(h\log^5 h)$ contains an induced subdivision of $K_h$. These bounds substantially improve the previously known results and are nearly optimal in both settings. They also hold if $K_h$ is replaced by any other graph on $h$ vertices.
Ramsey number of a cycle versus a graph of a given size
In this paper, we prove that for every $k$ and every graph $H$ with $m$ edges and no isolated vertices, the Ramsey number $R(C_k,H)$ is at most $2m+\lfloor \frac{k-1}{2} \rfloor$, provided $m$ is sufficiently large with respect to $k$. This settles a problem of Erdős, Faudree, Rousseau and Schelp.
Ramsey numbers of digraphs with local edge structure
One of the classical topics in graph Ramsey theory is the study of which $n$-vertex graphs have Ramsey numbers that are linear in $n$. In this paper, we consider this problem in the context of directed graphs. The oriented Ramsey number of a digraph $G$ is the smallest integer $N$ such that every $N$-vertex tournament contains a copy of $G$. We prove that every bounded-degree acyclic digraph with a ``local edge structure'' has a linear oriented Ramsey number. More precisely, we say that a digraph $G$ has graded bandwidth $w$ if its vertices can be partitioned into sets $V_1, \dots, V_H$ such that all edges $uv \in E(G)$ with $u \in V_i$ and $v \in V_j$ satisfy $1 \leq j - i \leq w$. We prove that $\vec{r}(G) \leq 3^{57Δw} |V(G)|$ for any acyclic $G$ with graded bandwidth $w$ and maximum degree $Δ$. This provides a common generalization of several prior results, including on digraphs of bounded height, of digraphs of bounded bandwidth, and blowups of bounded-degree oriented trees. This notion also captures a wide variety of natural digraphs, such as oriented grids and hypercubes.
Hamilton cycles in regular graphs perturbed by a random 2-factor
In this paper, we prove that for each $d \geq 2$, the union of a $d$-regular graph with a uniformly random $2$-factor on the same vertex set is Hamiltonian with high probability. This resolves a conjecture by Draganić and Keevash for all values of $d$.
Ordered Ramsey numbers of graphs with $m$ edges
Given a vertex-ordered graph $G$, the ordered Ramsey number $r_<(G)$ is the minimum integer $N$ such that every $2$-coloring of the edges of the complete ordered graph $K_N$ contains a monochromatic ordered copy of $G$. Motivated by a similar question posed by Erdős and Graham in the unordered setting, we study the problem of bounding the ordered Ramsey number of any ordered graph $G$ with $m$ edges and no isolated vertices. We prove that $r_<(G) \leq e^{10^9 \sqrt{m} (\log \log m)^{3/2}}$ for any such $G$, which is tight up to the $(\log \log m)^{3/2}$ factor in the exponent. As a corollary, we obtain the corresponding bound for the oriented Ramsey number of a directed graph with $m$ edges.

Oriented Ramsey numbers of graded digraphs
We show that any graded digraph $D$ on $n$ vertices with maximum degree $Δ$ has an oriented Ramsey number of at most $C^Δn$ for some absolute constant $C > 1$, improving upon a recent result of Fox, He, and Wigderson. In particular, this implies that oriented grids in any fixed dimension have linear oriented Ramsey numbers, and gives a polynomial bound on the oriented Ramsey number of the hypercube. We also show that this result is essentially best possible, in that there exist graded digraphs on $n$ vertices with maximum degree $Δ$ such that their oriented Ramsey number is at least $c^Δn$ for some absolute constant $c > 1$.

Randomly perturbed digraphs also have bounded-degree spanning trees
We show that a randomly perturbed digraph, where we start with a dense digraph $D_α$ and add a small number of random edges to it, will typically contain a fixed orientation of a bounded degree spanning tree. This answers a question posed by Araujo, Balogh, Krueger, Piga and Treglown and generalizes the corresponding result for randomly perturbed graphs by Krivelevich, Kwan and Sudakov. More specifically, we prove that there exists a constant $c = c(α, Δ)$ such that if $T$ is an oriented tree with maximum degree $Δ$ and $D_α$ is an $n$-vertex digraph with minimum semidegree $αn$, then the graph obtained by adding $cn$ uniformly random edges to $D_α$ will contain $T$ with high probability.
