On the Sidon tails of $\left\{\lfloor x^n\rfloor\right\}$
We prove that the tail of the sets $$\mathbf S_x := \big\{\left\lfloor x^n\right\rfloor : n\in \mathbb N\big\}$$ are Sidon for almost all $x\in (1,2)$. Then we prove that for all $\varepsilon>0$, there exists $x\in (1,\, 1+\varepsilon)$ and $r\in (2-\varepsilon,\, 2)$ such that $\mathbf S_x$ and $\mathbf S_r$ do not have a Sidon tail.

The Greedy Algorithm for Dissociated Sets
A set $\mathcal S\subset \mathbb N$ is said to be a subset-sum-distinct or dissociated if all of its finite subsets have different sums. Alternately, an equivalent classification is if any equality of the form $$\sum_{s\in \mathcal S} \varepsilon_s \cdot s =0$$ where $\varepsilon_s \in \{-1,0,+1\}$ implies that all the $\varepsilon_s$'s are $0$. For a dissociated set $\mathcal S$, we prove that for $c_\ast = \frac 12 \log_2 \left(\frac π2\right)$ and any $c_\ast-1<C<c_\ast$, we have $$\mathcal S(n) \,:=\, \mathcal S\cap [1,n] \,\le\, \log_2 n +\frac 12 \log_2\log_2 n + C$$ for all $n\in \mathcal N_C$ with asymptotic density $\mathbf d\left(\mathcal N_C\right)=2-2^{c_\ast-C}$. Further, we consider the greedy algorithm for generating these sets and prove that this algorithm always eventually doubles. Finally, we also consider some generalizations of dissociated sets and prove similar results about them.

The Neighbour Sum Problem on Trees
A graph $\mathcal G = (\mathcal V, \mathcal E)$ is said to satisfy the Neighbour Sum Property if there exists some $f:\mathcal V\to\mathbb R$ such that $f\not\equiv 0$ and it maps every vertex to the sum of the values taken by its neighbours. In this article, we provide an algorithm to check whether a given finite tree satisfies the neighbour sum property. We also find a large class of trees on $n$ vertices that satisfy the property.

The $m$-th Element of a Sidon Set
We prove that if $A=\{a_1,\dots ,a_{|A|}\}\subset \{1,2,\dots ,n\}$ is a Sidon set so that $|A|=n^{1/2}-L^\prime$, then $$a_m = m\cdot n^{1/2} + \mathcal O\left( n^{7/8}\right) + \mathcal O\left(L^{1/2}\cdot n^{3/4}\right)$$ where $L=\max\{0,L^\prime\}$. As an application of this, we give easy proofs of some previously derived results. We proceed on to proving that for a dense Sidon set $S$ and for any $\varepsilon >0$, we have $$\sum_{a\in S} a = \frac 12 n^{3/2} + \mathcal O \left (n^{11/8} \right )$$ for all $n\le N$ but at most $\mathcal O_{\varepsilon} \left (N^{\frac 45 + \varepsilon} \right )$ exceptions.
Neighbour Sum Patterns : Chessboards to Toroidal Worlds
We say that a chessboard filled with integer entries satisfies the neighbour-sum property if the number appearing on each cell is the sum of entries in its neighbouring cells, where neighbours are cells sharing a common edge or vertex. We show that an $n\times n$ chessboard satisfies this property if and only if $n\equiv 5\pmod 6$. Existence of solutions is further investigated of rectangular, toroidal boards, as well as on Neumann neighbourhoods, including a nice connection to discrete harmonic functions. Construction of solutions on infinite boards are also presented. Finally, answers to three dimensional analogues of these boards are explored using properties of cyclotomic polynomials and relevant ideas conjectured.
