The Pentagon Graph Operator
For a graph $G$, let $\mathscr{C}_5(G)$ denote the graph whose vertices are the induced $5$-cycles of $G$, where two vertices are adjacent whenever the corresponding cycles share an edge. We investigate the iterative behavior of the pentagon graph operator $\mathscr{C}_5(G)$ , positioning it as the natural continuation of the quadrangle graph operator and the broader induced-cycle graph operator program. We construct explicit pentagon-vanishing, pentagon-periodic, and pentagon-expanding graphs. In particular, the dodecahedron and the icosahedron provide natural periodic examples, while an icosahedral tadpole-hat construction yields expanding families. Our main result proves that every graph is exactly one of three types with respect to $\mathscr{C}_5(G)$: vanishing, periodic, or expanding. The paper suggests a broader theory for the operators $C_k$ generated by induced cycles of fixed length $k$.
On identity Seidel switches
Seidel switching is a classical operation on graphs which plays a central role in the theory of two-graphs, signed graphs, and switching classes. In this paper we focus on those switches which leave a given graph invariant up to isomorphism. We call such subsets of the vertex set \emph{identity Seidel switches}. After recalling basic properties of Seidel switching and the associated abelian group structure, we introduce Seidel equivalence classes of graphs and then study the structure of the family of identity Seidel switches of a fixed graph. We show that this family forms a 14 pages; 2--group under composition, and we obtain structural constraints on graphs in which many vertices or edges give rise to identity switches. In particular, we derive necessary conditions in terms of degree parameters, and we characterize certain edge-identity switches via an automorphism of an induced subgraph. Several constructions and examples are presented, and some open problems are proposed.
A Fundamental Theorem on Graph Operators
A graph operator is a function $Γ$ defined on some set of graphs such that whenever two graphs $G$ and $H$ are isomorphic, written $G\simeq H$, then $Γ(G)\simeq Γ(H)$. For a graph $G$ not in the domain of $Γ$, we put $Γ(G)=\emptyset$. Also, let us define $Γ^0(G)=G$, and for any integr $k\ge1$, $Γ^k(G)=Γ(Γ^{k-1}(G))$
We prove that if $Γ$ is a graph operator, then the sequence $\langle Γ^k(G)\rangle_{k=0}^\infty$ has only three possible types of behaviour. Either $Γ^k(G)=\emptyset$ for some integer $k>0$, or $\displaystyle\lim_{k\to\infty}|V(Γ^k(G))|=\infty$, or there exist integers $m\ge0$, $p>0$ such that the graphs $Γ^j(G)$ are non-isomorphic ($0\le j\le m)$, and $Γ^{n+p}\simeq Γ^n(G)$ for all integers $n\ge m$. We illustrate this using two new graph operators, namely, the path graph operator and the claw graph operator.

The score of a vertex $x$ in an oriented graph is defined to be its outdegree, \emph{i.e.}, the number of arcs with initial vertex $x$. The score sequence of an oriented graph is the sequence of all scores arranged in nondecreasing order. An oriented complete bipartite graph is called a bitournament. The score sequence of a bitournament consists of two nondecreasing sequences of nonnegative integers, one for each of the two partite sets. Moon has characterized the score sequences of bitournaments. This paper introduces the concept of trimming a sequence and gives a characterization of score sequences of bitournaments utilizing this concept.
