On the order of 4-dimensional regular polytope numbers
In light of Kim's conjecture on regular polytopes of dimension four, which is a generalization of Waring's problem, we establish asymptotic formulas for representing any sufficiently large integer as a sum of numbers in the form of those regular 4-polytopes. Moreover, we are able to obtain a more general result of the asymptotics for any degree-four polynomial $f$ satisfying $f(0)=0$ and $f(1)=1$.
Clique covers and decompositions of cliques of graphs
In 1966, Erdős, Goodman, and Pósa showed that if $G$ is an $n$-vertex graph, then at most $\lfloor n^2/4 \rfloor$ cliques of $G$ are needed to cover the edges of $G$, and the bound is best possible as witnessed by the balanced complete bipartite graph. This was generalized independently by Győri--Kostochka, Kahn, and Chung, who showed that every $n$-vertex graph admits an edge-decomposition into cliques of total `cost' at most $2 \lfloor n^2/4 \rfloor$, where an $i$-vertex clique has cost $i$. Erdős suggested the following strengthening: every $n$-vertex graph admits an edge-decomposition into cliques of total cost at most $\lfloor n^2/4 \rfloor$, where now an $i$-vertex clique has cost $i-1$. We prove fractional relaxations and asymptotically optimal versions of both this conjecture and a conjecture of Dau, Milenkovic, and Puleo on covering the $t$-vertex cliques of a graph instead of the edges. Our proofs introduce a general framework for these problems using Zykov symmetrization, the Frankl-Rödl nibble method, and the Szemerédi Regularity Lemma.

Permutation and Multi-permutation Codes Correcting Multiple Deletions
Permutation codes in the Ulam metric, which can correct multiple deletions, have been investigated extensively recently. In this work, we are interested in the maximum size of permutation codes in the Ulam metric and aim to design permutation codes that can correct multiple deletions with efficient decoding algorithms. We first present an improvement on the Gilbert--Varshamov bound of the maximum size of these permutation codes by analyzing the independence number of the auxiliary graph. The idea is widely used in various cases and our contribution in this section is enumerating the number of triangles in the auxiliary graph and showing that it is small enough. Next, we design permutation codes correcting multiple deletions with a decoding algorithm. In particular, the constructed permutation codes can correct $t$ deletions with at most $(3t-1) \log n+o(\log n)$ bits of redundancy where $n$ is the length of the code. Our construction is based on a new mapping which yields a new connection between permutation codes in the Hamming metric and permutation codes in various metrics. Furthermore, we construct permutation codes that correct multiple bursts of deletions using this new mapping. Finally, we extend the new mapping for multi-permutations and construct the best-known multi-permutation codes in Ulam metric.

Improving the Gilbert-Varshamov bound for permutation Codes in the Cayley metric and Kendall $τ$-Metric
The Cayley distance between two permutations $π, σ\in S_n$ is the minimum number of \textit{transpositions} required to obtain the permutation $σ$ from $π$. When we only allow adjacent transpositions, the minimum number of such transpositions to obtain $σ$ from $π$ is referred to the Kendall $τ$-distance. A set $C$ of permutation words of length $n$ is called a $d$-Cayley permutation code if every pair of distinct permutations in $C$ has Cayley distance at least $d$. A $d$-Kendall permutation code is defined similarly. Let $C(n,d)$ and $K(n,d)$ be the maximum size of a $d$-Cayley and a $d$-Kendall permutation code of length $n$, respectively. In this paper, we improve the Gilbert-Varshamov bound asymptotically by a factor $\log(n)$, namely \[ C(n,d+1) \geq Ω_d\left(\frac{n!\log n}{n^{2d}}\right) \text{ and } K(n,d+1) \geq Ω_d\left(\frac{n! \log n}{n^d}\right).\] Our proof is based on graph theory techniques.
Improving Uniquely Decodable Codes in Binary Adder Channels
We present a general method to modify existing uniquely decodable codes in the $T$-user binary adder channel. If at least one of the original constituent codes does not have average weight exactly half of the dimension, then our method produces a new set of constituent codes in a higher dimension, with a strictly higher rate. Using our method we improve the highest known rate for the $T$-user binary adder channel for all $T \geq 2$. This information theory problem is equivalent to co-Sidon problems initiated by Lindstr{ö}m in the 1960s, and also the multi-set union-free problem. Our results improve the known lower bounds in these settings as well.
