A classification of regular maps with Euler characteristic $-pq$
In this paper, we give a classification of regular maps with Euler characteristic $-pq$ for distinct primes $q>p\geq 5$. This together with previous classification of regular maps with Euler characteristic $-2p,-3p$ and $-p^2$ completes the classification of regular maps with Euler characteristic $-pq$ for two primes $p$ and $q$. An interesting consequence is that, for every pair of twin primes $p$ and $q$ greater than $5$, there exist three regular maps with solvable automorphism groups and Euler characteristic $-pq$, up to duality and isomorphism.
A classification of regular maps with Euler characteristic $-p^4$ for a prime $p\geq 5$
A map is a cellular decomposition of a closed surface. In the framework of classifying all regular maps by their supporting surface, it is an open problem to find all closed surfaces that support no regular maps. Classification of regular maps on surfaces with Euler characteristic $-p, -p^2, -p^3, -2p,$ and $-3p$ has already been done by several authors in a series of papers, which also show that surfaces with these Euler characteristic support no regular maps if the corresponding prime $p$ satisfies certain conditions. In this paper, assuming that $p\geq 5$ is a prime and $i\geq 4$, we show that the order of a Sylow $p$-subgroup of a regular map with Euler characteristic $-p^i$ is bounded by $p^{i-1}$ unless $p\in \{5, 7, 13\}$, and we show the existence of a normal $p$-subgroup for these regular maps whenever a Sylow $p$-subgroup has order at least $\sqrt{p^i}$, laying a solid foundation for using an inductive method to completely characterize regular maps of Euler characteristic $-p^i$. Based on this, we classify all regular maps with Euler characteristic $-p^4$ for a prime $p\geq 5$ in terms of reduced presentations of their automorphism groups. Consequently, a closed surface with Euler characteristic $-p^4$ supports no regular maps if and only if $p\notin \{2,3,5,7,13\}$.
On finite totally k-closed groups
Let $G$ be a finite group acting faithfully on a finite set $Ω$. For a positive integer $k$, $G$ acts naturally on the Catesian product $Ω^k := Ω\times ...\times Ω$. In this paper, we prove that finite nilpotent group $G$ with $2\nmid |G|$ is a totally $k$-closed group if and only if $G$ is abelian with $n(G)\leq k-1$ or cyclic, where $n(G)$ is the number of invariant factors in the invariant factor decomposition of $G$.
Orientably-Regular $π$-Maps and Regular $π$-Maps
Given a map with underlying graph $\mathcal{G}$, if the set of prime divisors of $|V(\mathcal{G}|$ is denoted by $π$, then we call the map a {\it $π$-map}.
An orientably-regular (resp. A regular ) $π$-map is called {\it solvable} if the group $G^+$ of all orientation-preserving automorphisms (resp. the group $G$ of automorphisms) is solvable; and called {\it normal} if $G^+$ (resp. $G$) contains a normal $π$-Hall subgroup.
In this paper, it will be proved that orientably-regular $π$-maps are solvable and normal if $2\notin π$ and regular $π$-maps are solvable if $2\notin π$ and $G$ has no sections isomorphic to ${\rm PSL}(2,q)$ for some prime power $q$. In particular, it's shown that a regular $π$-map with $2\notin π$ is normal if and only if $G/O_{2^{'}}(G)$ is isomorphic to a Sylow $2$-group of $G$.
Moreover, nonnormal $π$-maps will be characterized and some properties and constructions of normal $π$-maps will be given in respective sections.

A map is called a {\it $p$-map} if it has a prime $p$-power vertices.
An orientably-regular (resp. A regular ) $p$-map is called {\it solvable} if the group $G^+$ of all orientation-preserving automorphisms (resp. the group $G$ of automorphisms) is solvable; and called {\it normal} if $G^+$ (resp. $G$) contains the normal Sylow $p$-subgroup.
In this paper, it will be proved that both orientably-regular $p$-maps and regular $p$-maps are solvable and except for few cases that $p\in \{2, 3\}$, they are normal.
Moreover, nonnormal $p$-maps will be characterized and some properties and constructions of normal $p$-maps will be given.
