There is no Heron triangle with three rational medians
Abstract
The relevance of this paper lies in the fact that it addresses two previously open problems in mathematics: a new lemma is proved in the first part, and a new theorem is established in the second part. The subject of the paper is the proof that there are no Heronian triangles with three integer medians. In the second part of the paper, by transforming known formulas, a universal identity valid for an arbitrary triangle is derived. This identity is then used to prove the nonexistence of Heronian triangles with three integer medians. In the first part of the paper, a lemma is proved showing that if there exists a triangle with integer sides and integer medians, then there necessarily exists another triangle, not similar to the first one, possessing the same properties. In other words, such triangles can exist only in pairs.
