Embedding the Complete Expansion Graph in Books
A book embedding of a graph consists of an embedding of its vertices along the spine of a book, and an embedding of its edges on the pages such that edges embedded on the same page do not intersect. The pagenumber is the minimum number of pages in which the graph $G$ can be embedded. The main purpose of this paper is to study the book embedding of the complete expansion graph. This is the first work about it, and some exact pagenumbers of the complete expansion graphs of some special graphs are obtained.

In this paper we extend the study of three state lively quantum walks on cycles by considering the coin operator as a linear sum of permutation matrices, which is a generalization of the Grover matrix. First we provide a complete characterization of orthogonal matrices of order $3\times 3$ which are linear sum of permutation matrices. Consequently, we determine several groups of complex, real and rational orthogonal matrices. We establish that an orthogonal matrix of order $3\times 3$ is a linear sum of permutation matrices if and only if it is permutative. Finally we determine period of lively quantum walk on cycles when the coin operator belongs to the group of orthogonal (real) linear sum of permutation matrices.
The general position number of integer lattices
The general position number ${\rm gp}(G)$ of a connected graph $G$ is the cardinality of a largest set $S$ of vertices such that no three pairwise distinct vertices from $S$ lie on a common geodesic. The $n$-dimensional grid graph $\pn$ is the Cartesian product of $n$ copies of the two-way infinite path $P_\infty$. It is proved that if $n\in {\mathbb N}$, then ${\rm gp}({P_\infty^n}) = 2^{2^{n-1}}$. The result was earlier known only for $n\in \{1,2\}$ and partially for $n=3$.
The Erdős-Hajnal property for graphs with no fixed cycle as a pivot-minor

We prove that for every integer $k$, there exists $\varepsilon > 0$ such that for every n-vertex graph $G$ with no pivot-minor isomorphic to $C_k$, there exist disjoint sets $A,B \subseteq V(G)$ such that $|A|,|B| \geq \varepsilon n$, and $A$ is either complete or anticomplete to $B$. This proves the analog of the Erdős-Hajnal conjecture for the class of graphs with no pivot-minor isomorphic to $C_k$.

The study of new error correcting codes has raised attention in the last years, especially because of their use in cryptosystems that are resistant to attacks running on quantum computers. In 2006, while leaving a more in-depth analysis for future research, Stakhov gave some interesting ideas on how to exploit Fibonacci numbers to derive an original error correcting code with a compact representation. In this work we provide an explicit formula to compute the redundancy of Stakhov codes, we identify some flows in the initial decoding procedure described by Stakhov, whose crucial point is to solve some non-trivial Diophantine equations, and provide a detailed discussion on how to avoid solving such equations in some cases and on how to detect and correct errors more efficiently.

The Marques-Neves theorem asserts that among all the torodial (i.e. genus 1) closed surfaces, the Clifford torus has the minimal Willmore energy $\int H^2 \, dA$. % It is a natural conjecture that if one prescribes the isoperimetric Since the Willmore energy is invariant M{ö}bius transformations, it can be shown that there is a one-parameter family, up to homotheties, of genus 1 Willmore minimizers. It is then a natural conjecture that such a minimizer is unique if one prescribes its isoperimetric ratio. In this article, we show that this conjecture can be reduced to the positivity question of a polynomial recurrence.

We present estimates of number of simplices of given dimension of classical compact Lie groups. As in the previous work \cite{GMP2} the approach is a combination of an estimate of number of vertices with a use of valuation of the covering type by cohomological argument of \cite{GMP} and application of the recent versions of the Lower Bound Theorem of combinatorial topology. For the case of exceptional Lie groups we made a complete calculation using the description of their cohomology rings given by the first and third author. For infinite increasing series of Lie groups of growing dimension $d$ the rate of growth of number of simplices of highest dimension is given which extends onto the case of simplices of (fixed) codimension $d-i$.
The 1-2-3 Conjecture holds for graphs with large enough minimum degree
A simple graph more often than not contains adjacent vertices with equal degrees. This in particular holds for all pairs of neighbours in regular graphs, while a lot such pairs can be expected e.g. in many random models. Is there a universal constant $K$, say $K=3$, such that one may always dispose of such pairs from any given connected graph with at least three vertices by blowing its selected edges into at most $K$ parallel edges? This question was first posed in 2004 by Karoński, Łuczak and Thomason, who equivalently asked if one may assign weights $1,2,3$ to the edges of every such graph so that adjacent vertices receive distinct weighted degrees - the sums of their incident weights. This basic problem is commonly referred to as the 1-2-3 Conjecture nowadays, and has been addressed in multiple papers. Thus far it is known that weights $1,2,3,4,5$ are sufficient [J. Combin. Theory Ser. B 100 (2010) 347-349]. We show that this conjecture holds if only the minimum degree $δ$ of a graph is large enough, i.e. when $δ= Ω(\logΔ)$, where $Δ$ denotes the maximum degree of the graph. The principle idea behind our probabilistic proof relies on associating random variables with a special and carefully designed distribution to most of the vertices of a given graph, and then choosing weights for major part of the edges depending on the values of these variables in a deterministic or random manner.
Dynamics of plane partitions: Proof of the Cameron-Fon-Der-Flaass conjecture

One of the oldest outstanding problems in dynamical algebraic combinatorics is the following conjecture of P. Cameron and D. Fon-Der-Flaass (1995). Consider a plane partition $P$ in an $a \times b \times c$ box ${\sf B}$. Let $Ψ(P)$ denote the smallest plane partition containing the minimal elements of ${\sf B} - P$. Then if $p= a+b+c-1$ is prime, Cameron and Fon-Der-Flaass conjectured that the cardinality of the $Ψ$-orbit of $P$ is always a multiple of $p$.
This conjecture was established for $p \gg 0$ by Cameron and Fon-Der-Flaass (1995) and for slightly smaller values of $p$ in work of K. Dilks, J. Striker, and the second author (2017). Our main theorem specializes to prove this conjecture in full generality.
The Ramsey number of a long cycle and complete graphs
In this paper, we prove that the multicolored Ramsey number $R(G_1,\dots,G_n,K_{n_1},\dots,K_{n_r})$ is at least $(γ-1)(κ-1)+1$ for arbitrary connected graphs $G_1,\dots,G_n$ and $n_1,\dots,n_r\in\mathbb{N}$, where $γ=R(G_1,\dots,G_n)$ and $κ=R(K_{n_1},\dots,K_{n_r})$. Erd\H os at al. conjectured that $R(C_n,K_l)=(n-1)(l-1)+1$ for every $n\geq l\geq 3$ except for $n=l=3$. Nikiforov proved this conjecture for $n\geq 4l+2$. Using the above bound, we derive the following generalization of this result. $R(C_n,K_{n_1},\dots,K_{n_r})=(n-1)(κ-1)+1$, where $κ=R(K_{n_1},\dots,K_{n_r})$ and $n\geq 4κ+2$.
Extremal graphs of the $k$-th power of paths
An extremal graph for a given graph $H$ is a graph with maximum number of edges on fixed number of vertices without containing a copy of $H$. The $k$-th power of a path is a graph obtained from a path and joining all pair of vertices of the path with distance less than $k$. Applying a deep theorem of Simonovits, we characterize the extremal graphs of the $k$-th power of paths. This settles a conjecture posed by Xiao, Katona, Xiao and Zamora in a stronger form.

In 1998, Michael Hirschhorn discovered 5-dissections of the Rogers--Ramanujan continued fraction $R(q)$ and its reciprocal. In this paper, we obtain the 5-dissections for functions $R(q)R(q^2)^2$ and $R(q)^2/R(q^2)$, which are essentially Ramanujan's parameter and its companion. 5-Dissections of the reciprocals of these two functions are derived as well. These 5-dissections imply that the coefficients in their series expansions have periodic sign patterns with few exceptions.
Vanishing coefficients in several $q$-series expansions related to the Rogers--Ramanujan continued fraction
In this paper, we investigate several infinite products with vanishing Taylor coefficients in arihmetic progressions. These infinite products are closely related to the Rogers--Ramanujan continued fraction. Moreover, a handful of new identities involving Ramanujan's parameters will be established.

Given a Chevalley group ${\mathbf G}(q)$ and a parabolic subgroup $P\subset {\mathbf G}(q)$, we prove that for any set $A$ there is a certain growth of $A$ relatively to $P$, namely, either $AP$ or $PA$ is much larger than $A$. Also, we study a question about intersection of $A^n$ with parabolic subgroups $P$ for large $n$. We apply our method to obtain some results on a modular form of Zaremba's conjecture from the theory of continued fractions and make the first step towards Hensley's conjecture about some Cantor sets with Hausdorff dimension greater than $1/2$.
On the inverses of Kasami and Bracken-Leander exponents
We explicitly determine the binary representation of the inverse of all Kasami exponents $K_r=2^{2r}-2^r+1$ modulo $2^n-1$ for all possible values of $n$ and $r$. This includes as an important special case the APN Kasami exponents with $\gcd(r,n)=1$. As a corollary, we determine the algebraic degree of the inverses of the Kasami functions. In particular, we show that the inverse of an APN Kasami function on $\mathbb{F}_{2^n}$ always has algebraic degree $\frac{n+1}{2}$ if $n\equiv 0 \pmod 3$. For $n\not\equiv 0 \pmod 3$ we prove that the algebraic degree is bounded from below by $\frac{n}{3}$. We consider Kasami exponents whose inverses are quadratic exponents or Kasami exponents. We also determine the binary representation of the inverse of the Bracken-Leander exponent $BL_r=2^{2r}+2^r+1$ modulo $2^n-1$ where $n=4r$ and $r$ odd. We show that the algebraic degree of the inverse of the Bracken-Leander function is $\frac{n+2}{2}$.

An odd $[1,b]$-factor of a graph $G$ is a spanning subgraph $H$ such that for each vertex $v \in V(G)$, $d_H(v)$ is odd and $1\le d_H(v) \le b$. Let $λ_3(G)$ be the third largest eigenvalue of the adjacency matrix of $G$. For positive integers $r \ge 3$ and even $n$, Lu, Wu, and Yang [10] proved a lower bound for $λ_3(G)$ in an $n$-vertex $r$-regular graph $G$ to gurantee the existence of an odd $[1,b]$-factor in $G$. In this paper, we improve the bound; it is sharp for every $r$.
Asymptotic bounds on graphical partitions and partition comparability

An integer partition is called graphical if it is the degree sequence of a simple graph. We prove that the probability that a uniformly chosen partition of size $n$ is graphical decreases to zero faster than $n^{-.003}$, answering a question of Pittel. A lower bound of $n^{-1/2}$ was proven by Erdős and Richmond, and so this demonstrates that the probability decreases polynomially. Key to our argument is an asymptotic result of Pittel characterizing the joint distribution of the first rows and columns of a uniformly random partition, combined with a characterization of graphical partitions due to Erdős and Gallai. Our proof also implies a polynomial upper bound for the probability that two randomly chosen partitions are comparable in the dominance order.
A squarefree term not occurring in the Leech sequence
Let \[ \begin{array}{c}\overline{A} = ABCBA\ CBC\ ABCBA,\\ \overline{B} = BCACB\ ACA\ BCACB,\\ \overline{C} = CABAC\ BAB\ CABAC. \end{array} \] The Leech sequence $L$ is the squarefree sequence obtained as the limit of the palindromes \[ A, \overline{A}, \overline{\overline{A}}, \ldots . \] In order to specify a certain class of pseudorecursive varieties of semigroups, it is helpful to have a squarefree term in 3 variables such that no substitution instance occurs as a subterm of $L$. We show that $κ_1 = aba\ cbc\ aba\ c$ is such a term. Except for one situation, the doubly-linked term $κ_2 = aba\ cbc\ aba$ will serve, and we focus on it.

Stanley introduced and studied two lattice polytopes, the order polytope and chain polytope, associated to a finite poset. Recently Ohsugi and Tsuchiya introduce an enriched version of them, called the enriched order polytope and enriched chain polytope. In this paper, we give a piecewise-linear bijection between these enriched poset polytopes, which is an enriched analogue of Stanley's transfer map and bijectively proves that they have the same Ehrhart polynomials. Also we construct explicitly unimodular triangulations of two enriched poset polytopes.
