Strong zero-divisor graph of p.q.-Baer $*$-rings
In this paper, we study the strong zero-divisor graph of a p.q.-Baer $*$-ring. We determine the condition on a p.q.-Baer $*$-ring (in terms of the smallest central projection in a lattice of central projections of a $*$-ring), so that its strong zero-divisor graph contains a cut vertex. It is proved that the set of cut vertices of a strong zero-divisor graph of a p.q.-Baer $*$-ring forms a complete subgraph. We prove that the complement of the strong zero-divisor graph of a p.q.-Baer $*$-ring is connected if and only if the $*$-ring contains at least six central projections. We characterize the diameter and girth of the complement of a strong zero-divisor graph of a p.q.-Baer $*$-ring. Also, we characterize p.q.-Baer $*$-rings whose strong zero-divisor graph is complemented.

On Unitification of $*$-rings
S. K. Berberian raised the open problem ``Can every weakly Rickart $*$-ring be embedded in a Rickart $*$-ring? with preservation of right projections?" Berberian has given a partial solution to this problem. Khairnar and Waphare raised a similar problem for p.q.-Baer $*$-rings and gave a partial solution. In this paper, we give more general partial solutions to both the problems.

Decomposition of Augmented Cubes into Regular Connected Pancyclic Subgraphs
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this paper, we consider the problem of decomposing the augmented cube $AQ_n$ into two spanning, regular, connected and pancyclic subgraphs. We prove that for $ n \geq 4$ and $ 2n - 1 = n_1 + n_2 $ with $ n_1, n_2 \geq 2,$ the augmented cube $ AQ_n$ can be decomposed into two spanning subgraphs $ H_1$ and $ H_2$ such that each $ H_i$ is $n_i$-regular and $n_i$-connected. Moreover, $H_i$ is $4$-pancyclic if $ n_i \geq 3.$

Connectivity and edge-bipancyclicity of hamming shell
Published • View PublicationBIB
An Any graph obtained by deleting a Hamming code of length n from a n-cube Qn is called as a Hamming shell. It is well known that a Hamming shell is vertex-transitive, edge-transitive, distance preserving. Moreover, it is Hamiltonian and connected. In this paper, we prove that a Hamming shell is edge-bipancyclic and (n-1)-connected.

Decompositions of $n$-Cube into $2^mn$-Cycles
It is known that the $n$-dimensional hypercube $Q_n,$ for $n$ even, has a decomposition into $k$-cycles for $k=n, 2n,$ $2^l$ with $2 \leq l \leq n.$ In this paper, we prove that $Q_n$ has a decomposition into $2^mn$-cycles for $n \geq 2^m.$ As an immediate consequence of this result, we get path decompositions of $Q_n$ as well. This gives a partial solution to a conjecture posed by Ramras and also, it solves some special cases of a conjecture due to Erde.

Construction of Four Completely Independent Spanning Trees on Augmented Cubes
Let T1, T2,..., Tk be spanning trees in a graph G. If for any pair of vertices {u, v} of G, the paths between u and v in every Ti( 0 < i < k+1) do not contain common edges and common vertices, except the vertices u and v, then T1, T2,..., Tk are called completely independent spanning trees in G. The n-dimensional augmented cube, denoted as AQn, a variation of the hypercube possesses several embeddable properties that the hypercube and its variations do not possess. For AQn (n > 5), construction of 4 completely independent spanning trees of which two trees with diameters 2n - 5 and two trees with diameters 2n - 3 are given.

Generalized Projections in Zn

We consider the ring $\mathbb Z_n$ (integers modulo $n$) with the partial order `$\leq$' given by `$a \leq b$ if either $a=b$ or $a\equiv ab~(mod~n)$'. In this paper, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the poset ($\mathbb Z_n,~\leq$) to be a lattice.

Unitification of Weakly p.q.-Baer *-Rings
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this paper, we introduce a concept of weakly principally quasi-Baer *-rings in terms of central cover. We prove that a *-rings is a principally quasi-Baer *-rings if and only if it is weakly principally quasi-Baer *-rings with unity. A partial solution to the problem similar to unitification problem raised by S. K. Berberian is obtained.

Conrad's Partial Order on p.q.-Baer *-Rings
Published • View PublicationBIB
We prove that p.q.-Baer *-ring forms a pseudo lattice with Conrads partial order and also characterize p.q.-Baer *-rings which are lattices. The initial segments of a p.q.-Baer *-ring with Conrads partial order are shown to be orthomodular posets.

Natural Partial Order on Rings with Involution
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this paper, we introduce a partial order on rings with involution, which is a generalization of the partial order on the set of projections in a Rickart *-ring. We prove that a *-ring with the natural partial order form a sectionally semi-complemented poset. It is proved that every interval [0,x] forms an orthomodular lattice in case of abelian Rickart *-rings. The concepts of generalized comparability (GC) and partial comparability (PC) are extended to involve all the elements of a *-ring. Further, it is proved that these concepts are equivalent in finite abelian Rickart *-rings.

Zero-divisor graphs of lower dismantlable lattices-II
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this paper, we continue our study of the zero-divisor graphs of lower dismantlable lattices that was started in [20]. The present paper mainly deals with an Isomorphism Problem for the zero-divisor graphs of lattices. In fact, we prove that the zero-divisor graphs of lower dismantlable lattices with the greatest element 1 as join-reducible are isomorphic if and only if the lattices are isomorphic.

In this paper, we study the zero-divisor graphs of a subclass of dismantlable lattices. These graphs are characterized in terms of the non-ancestor graphs of rooted trees.
