Graphs at infinity: Liouville theorems, Recurrence and Characterization of Dirichlet forms
We survey recent results on graphs and their Laplacians related to the behavior of the graph at large. In particular, we focus on Liouville theorems, recurrence and characterizations of Dirichlet forms via boundary terms.
The Ihara Zeta function for infinite graphs

We put forward the concept of measure graphs. These are (possibly uncountable) graphs equipped with an action of a groupoid and a measure invariant under this action. Examples include finite graphs, periodic graphs, graphings and percolation graphs. Making use of Connes' non-commutative integration theory we construct a Zeta function and present a determinant formula for it. We further introduce a notion of weak convergence of measure graphs and show that our construction is compatible with it. The approximation of the Ihara Zeta function via the normalized version on finite graphs in the sense of Benjamini-Schramm follows as a special case. Our framework not only unifies corresponding earlier results occurring in the literature. It likewise provides extensions to rich new classes of objects such as percolation graphs.
Linearly repetitive Delone sets Delone sets with finite local complexity: Linear repetitivity versus positivity of weights

We consider Delone sets with finite local complexity. We characterize validity of a subadditive ergodic theorem by uniform positivity of certain weights. The latter can be considered to be an averaged version of linear repetitivity. In this context, we show that linear repetitivity is equivalent to positivity of weights combined with a certain balancedness of the shape of return patterns.
A characterization of subshifts with bounded powers

We consider minimal, aperiodic symbolic subshifts and show how to characterize the combinatorial property of bounded powers by means of a metric property. For this purpose we construct a family of graphs which all approximate the subshift space, and define a metric on each graph which extends to a metric on the subshift space. The characterization of bounded powers is then given by the Lipschitz equivalence of a suitably defined infimum metric with the corresponding supremum metric. We also introduce zeta-functions and relate their abscissa of convergence to various exponents of complexity of the subshift.
Note on powers in three interval exchange transformations

We study repetitions in infinite words coding exchange of three intervals with permutation (3,2,1), called 3iet words. The language of such words is determined by two parameters $\varepsilon,\ell$. We show that finiteness of the index of 3iet words is equivalent to boundedness of the coefficients of the continued fraction of $\varepsilon$. In this case we also give an upper and lower estimate on the index of the corresponding 3iet word.
Pure point diffraction implies zero entropy for Delone sets with uniform cluster frequencies

Delone sets of finite local complexity in Euclidean space are investigated. We show that such a set has patch counting and topological entropy 0 if it has uniform cluster frequencies and is pure point diffractive. We also note that the patch counting entropy is 0 whenever the repetitivity function satisfies a certain growth restriction.
