Some results on minimum saturated graphs
Let $G$ be a graph and $\mathcal{F}$ be a family of graphs. We say a graph $G$ is $\mathcal{F}$-saturated if $G$ does not contain any member in $\mathcal{F}$ and for any $e\in E(\overline{G})$, $G+e$ creates a copy of some member in $ \mathcal{F}$. The saturation number of $\mathcal{F}$ is the minimum number of edges of an $\mathcal{F}$-saturated graphs with $n$ vertices, denoted by $\sat(n,\mathcal{F})$. If $\mathcal{F}=\{F\}$, then we write it as $\sat(n,F)$ for short. In this paper, we determine the exact value of $\sat(n,\{K_3,P_k\})$, and as its application, we obtain two bounds of $\sat(n,K_3\cup P_k)$ for $k\ge 10$ and sufficiently large $n$. Furthermore, $\sat(n,K_1\lor F)$ is determined, where $F$ is a linear forest without isolated vertices.
Poset saturation of unions of chains
A family $\mathcal{G}$ of sets is a(n induced) copy of a poset $P=(P,\leqslant)$ if there exists a bijection $b:P\rightarrow \mathcal{G}$ such that $p\leqslant q$ holds if and only if $b(p)\subseteq b(q)$. The induced saturation number sat$^*(n,P)$ is the minimum size of a family $\mathcal{F}\subseteq 2^{[n]}$ that does not contain any copy of $P$, but for any $G\in 2^{[n]}\setminus \mathcal{F}$, the family $\mathcal{F}\cup \{G\}$ contains a copy of $P$. We consider sat$^*(n,P)$ for posets $P$ that are formed by pairwise incomparable chains, i.e. $P=\bigoplus_{j=1}^mC_{i_j}$. We make the following two conjectures: (i) sat$^*(n,P)=O(n)$ for all such posets and (ii) sat$^*(n,P)=O(1)$ if not all chains are of the same size. (The second conjecture is known to hold if there is a unique longest among the chains.) We verify these conjectures in some special cases: we prove (i) if all chains are of the same length, we prove (ii) in the first unknown general case: for posets $2C_k+C_1$. Finally, we give an infinite number of examples showing that (ii) is not a necessary condition for sat$^*(n,P)=O(1)$ among posets $P=\bigoplus_{j=1}^mC_{i_j}$: we prove sat$^*(n,(\binom{2t}{t}+1)C_2)=O(1)$ for all $t\ge 1$.
On Bollobás-type theorems of $d$-tuples
In 1965, Bollobás proved that for a Bollobás set-pair system $\{(A_i,B_i)\mid i\in[m]\}$, the maximum value of $\sum_{i=1}^m\binom{|A_i|+|B_i|}{A_i}^{-1}$ is $1$. Hegedüs and Frankl recently extended the concept of Bollobás systems to $d$-tuples, conjecturing that for a Bollobás system of $d$-tuples, $\{(A_i^{(1)},\ldots,A_i^{(d)})\mid i\in[m]\}$, the maximum value of $\sum_{i=1}^m\binom{|A_i^{(1)}|+\cdots+|A_i^{(d)}|}{|A_i^{(1)}|,\ldots,|A_i^{(d)}|}^{-1}$ is also $1$. This paper refutes this conjecture and establishes an upper bound for the sum. In the case $d=3$, the derived upper bound is asymptotically tight. Furthermore, we sharpen an inequality for skew Bollobás systems of $d$-tuples in Hegedüs and Frankl's paper. Finally, we determine the maximum size of a uniform skew Bollobás system of $d$-tuples on both sets and spaces.
A Bollobáss-type theorem on singular linear spaces
Bollobás-type theorem determines the maximum cardinality of a Bollobás system of sets. The original result has been extended to various mathematical structures beyond sets, including vector spaces and affine spaces. This paper generalizes the Bollobás-type theorem to singular linear spaces, and determine the maximum cardinality of (skew) Bollobás systems on them.
The maximum sum of the sizes of all intersections within $m$-size families
For a family of sets $\mathcal{F}$, let $ω(\mathcal{F}):=\sum_{\{A,B\}\subset \mathcal{F}}|A\cap B|$. In this paper, we prove that provided $n$ is sufficiently large, for any $\mathcal{F}\subset \binom{[n]}{k}$ with $|\mathcal{F}|=m$, $ω(\mathcal{F})$ is maximized by the family consisting of the first $m$ sets in the lexicographical ordering on $\binom{[n]}{k}$. Compared to the maximum number of adjacent pairs in families, determined by Das, Gan and Sudakov in 2016, $ω(\mathcal{F})$ distinguishes the contributions of intersections of different sizes. Then our results is an extension of Ahlswede and Katona's results in 1978, which determine the maximum number of adjacent edges in graphs. Besides, since $ω(\mathcal{F})=\frac{1}{2}\left(\sum_{x\in [n]}|\{F\in \mathcal{F}:x\in F\}|^2-km\right)$ for $k$-uniform family with size $m$, our results also give a sharp upper bound of the sum of squares of degrees in a hypergraph.
Some new Bollobás-type inequalities
A family of disjoint pairs of finite sets $\mathcal{P}=\{(A_i,B_i)\mid i\in[m]\}$ is called a Bollobás system if $A_i\cap B_j\neq\emptyset$ for every $i\neq j$, and a skew Bollobás system if $A_i\cap B_j\neq\emptyset$ for every $i<j$. Bollobás proved that for a Bollobás system, the inequality \begin{equation*} \sum_{i=1}^m\binom{|A_i|+|B_i|}{|A_i|}^{-1}\leq 1 \end{equation*} holds. Hegedüs and Frankl generalized this theorem to skew Bollobás systems with the inequality \begin{equation*} \sum_{i=1}^m\binom{|A_i|+|B_i|}{|A_i|}^{-1}\leq 1+n, \end{equation*} provided $A_i,B_i\subseteq [n]$. In this paper, we improve this inequality to \begin{equation*} \sum_{i=1}^m \left((1+|A_i|+|B_i|) \binom{|A_i|+|B_i|}{|A_i|}\right)^{-1} \leq 1 \end{equation*} with probabilistic method. We also generalize this result to partitions of sets on both symmetric and skew cases.
On the structures of subset sums in higher dimension
A given subset $A$ of natural numbers is said to be complete if every element of $\N$ is the sum of distinct terms taken from $A$. This topic is strongly connected to the knapsack problem which is known to be NP complete. The main goal of the paper is to study the structure of subset sums in a higher dimension. We show 'dense' sets and generalized arithmetic progrssions in subset sums of certain sets.
