We develop a theory of proper spaces and proper maps in the context of finite posets.

We develop Grothendieck's theory of dualizing complexes on finite posets, and its subsequent theory of Cohen-Macaulayness.

We give a geometric interpretation of the Stanley--Reisner correspondence, extend it to schemes, and interpret it in terms of the field of one element.
