Set-valued tableaux and cells of Gelfand-Zetlin polytopes
Two combinatorial rules are known for the Grassmannian Grothendieck polynomial $G^{(β)}_λ$: a sum over set-valued tableaux of shape $λ$, due to Buch, and a sum over the efficient cells of a cellular decomposition of the Gelfand-Zetlin polytope $GZ(λ)$, due to E.Presnova and the author. All coefficients in both sums equal $1$. We construct an explicit bijection between the two indexing sets which matches the summands term by term, carrying the number of excess entries of a tableau to the dimension of the corresponding cell; in particular the two rules are equivalent, either being deducible from the other. The efficiency condition on cells turns out to be the column-strictness of tableaux. We then transport Yu's square-root crystal operators to the cells and find that they respect dimension, along a double $i$-string the cells alternate between two consecutive dimensions, but not incidence: consecutive cells of such a string need not share a point, already for $λ=(2,1,0)$.

Canonical-row Chern flow on Bott--Samelson towers: realizable-volume models for Schubert, Grothendieck, and Lascoux polynomials
Over an arbitrary field, we construct realizable-volume models for the factorially normalized homogeneous Lascoux, Lascoux-atom, and positive Grothendieck packets. Their volume minors include normalized key polynomials, Demazure atoms, Schubert polynomials, and all sign-corrected homogeneous Grothendieck components. Over $\mathbb C$, these polynomials are Lorentzian. Consequently, the supports of ordinary Grothendieck, Lascoux, and Lascoux-atom polynomials are $(M^{\natural}$-convex and coincide with the lattice points of their integral generalized-polymatroid Newton polytopes. This proves, in the stronger realizable-volume form, the corresponding conjectures of Huh--Matherne--Mészáros--St.~Dizier, together with the relevant saturated-Newton-polytope and Grothendieck-support conjectures of Monical--Tokcan--Yong, Mészáros--St.~Dizier, and Mészáros--Setiabrata--St.~Dizier. The maximal-degree Grothendieck component yields the Castelnuovo--Mumford support conjecture as a special case. The construction uses a relative Bott--Samelson tower associated with the inverse-Lehmer word. Row and co-row filtrations globalize the relevant quotient and upper roots, while a divergence identity in $K^0$ organizes the kernel-root factors into the top Chern class of a globally generated bundle. A universal-incidence construction then converts the resulting top-Chern pushforward into a realizable-volume polynomial. The same framework also produces weighted packets whose finite duals are realizable-volume polynomials. More generally, we prove over an arbitrary field that factorially normalized top-degree total-Chern polynomials of globally generated bundles are realizable-volume polynomials, and that the supports of the homogeneous realizations arising from our construction are integral base sets of algebraic polymatroids.

Quot scheme of points on torus knot singularities
For $\gcd(a,b)=1$, we show that the moduli space of $m$-codimensional $\Bbbk[\![T^a,T^b]\!]$-submodules of $\Bbbk[\![T]\!]^n$ is paved by affine cells, by proving that each Białynicki-Birula stratum of a closed related moduli space with respect to the natural $\mathbb{G}_m$-action is an affine bundle over the fixed point locus and that the fixed point locus is an iterated Grassmannian bundle. As an application, we determine the motive of this moduli space in the Grothendieck ring of varieties in terms of an explicit two-variable series $N_{a,b;n}(q,t)$, and use it to explicit compute the groupoid volume of the category of finite modules over $\mathbb{F}_q[\![T^a,T^b]\!]$. The series $N_{a,b;n}$ carries the conjectures we then formulate. At $n=\infty$ we conjecture a bi-infinite family of Rogers--Ramanujan type identities by specializing the $t$-variable; we identify their product side with the normalized character of a module over the $\mathcal{W}$-algebra minimal model $\mathcal{W}_a(a,a+b)$, and observe a connetion to colored Jones tails. At $n<\infty$ we conjecture that $N_{a,b;n}$ is computed by the bottom $α$-row of the trigraded $S^n$-colored HOMFLY homology of the torus knot $T(a,b)$, and that this same bottom row also computes the Quot schemes of finite codimensional $\Bbbk[\![T^a,T^b]\!]$-submoudles of $\Bbbk[\![T^a,T^b]\!]^n$ and the punctual Hilbert schemes of the non-reduced curve $(Y^a-X^b)^n=0$; the three quantities are special values at three points of the trigrading, and when $n=1$ they recover both the conjectures of Oblomkov--Rasmussen--Shende and of Kivinen--Trinh. Finally we conjecture that the one direction of the trigrading these three points do not see is a perverse filtration on the moduli spaces themselves, and we verify its prediction for a smooth germ at $n=2$ by computing the decomposition theorem for the $\mathrm{GL}_2$ spectral-curve family.

Deletion-contraction properties of graphically stable spaces
Graphically stable spaces $\overline{\mathcal{M}}_{g,G}$ parametrize marked nodal curves whose permitted collisions of markings are determined by a graph. We study intersection numbers of $ψ$-classes on $\overline{\mathcal{M}}_{g,G}$, as well as the classes $[M_{g,G}]$ in the Grothendieck ring of varieties. In both settings, we show that the geometry is governed by an underlying graphical structure, expressed through deletion-contraction relations. As consequences, we derive string and dilaton equations and express several families of $ψ$-class integrals in terms of the chromatic polynomial. We also express the Grothendieck class of $M_{0,G}$ over an arbitrary field in terms of the chromatic polynomial and identify various Euler characteristics with combinatorial quantities. Along the way, we obtain a new formula for Crapo's $β$-invariant of graphs. Finally, we extend these relations to genus one and, under a chromatic condition, to higher genus.

Square root crystals and the square root of $B(\infty)$
We introduce a general monoidal category of $\mathbf{N}$-root crystals and then study the special case of square root $\mathfrak{gl}_n$-crystals. The latter objects include Yu's crystals on semistandard set-valued tableaux. Prior work of the first author, Tong, and Yu showed that regular square root $\mathfrak{gl}_n$-crystals can be a useful tool for proving Grothendieck positivity results. The objects studied here go beyond the regular case and allow us to construct a square root analog of the direct limit crystal $B(\infty)$. We give several descriptions of our square root of $B(\infty)$, using marginally large tableaux, the Lusztig or PBW parameterization, and the Nakashima--Zelevinsky polyhedral model. We show that this crystal has a simple character formula, exhibits a nontrivial Demazure filtration, and recovers Yu's semistandard set-valued tableau crystals after taking appropriate tensor products. We also investigate a number of differences between square root crystals and classical crystal constructions.

Grothendieck weights and K-theoretic positivity for matroids
We introduce a method for studying $K$-theoretic positivity on permutohedral toric varieties through the topology of spaces arising in tropical geometry. The key ingredient is the theory of Grothendieck weights developed by the author. We prove two positivity results using this method. The first result is the positivity of the Euler characteristics of tautological bundles associated with an arbitrary matroid and twisted by a nef line bundle. This gives numerical evidence for a conjectural vanishing theorem. The second result generalizes the external activity complex of Berget--Fink, originally defined for a pair of matroids, to the case of any tuple of matroids with no common loop. We deduce a formula for its graded $K$-polynomial in terms of exterior powers of the dual tautological quotient classes of the matroids. After a change of variables, its coefficients alternate in sign. We also prove the Cohen--Macaulayness of each such complex using the vanishing theorems for combinatorial geometries developed by Eur--Fink--Larson. This proof is new even in the case of a pair of matroids. As an application, we interpret certain Chern numbers of tautological quotient classes as counts of facets, partially answering a question of Berget--Eur--Spink--Tseng.
Magnitude of module categories
We define an invariant of the module category of a representation-finite algebra by the magnitude of its Auslander algebra. This invariant will be called the magnitude of the module category. For bound path algebras, it can be computed as the Euler characteristic of the Auslander--Reiten quiver, in a suitable sense. To aid the computation of our invariant, we define the Auslander--Reiten--Euler characteristic of a translation quiver. We build on classical results in Auslander--Reiten theory to determine the magnitude of module categories of biserial algebras, hereditary path algebras, radical square zero bound path algebras, and self-injective bound path algebras. In these cases, we express our invariant in terms of other known quantities, notably the rank of the Grothendieck group and Coxeter numbers of Dynkin quivers. Based on our calculations and results, we obtain a conjectural characterisation of representation-finite biserial algebras in terms of the magnitude of the module category and the rank of the Grothendieck group.

Uncrowding the 5-Vertex Model: RSK and Crystal Structures
While the uncrowding algorithm on set-valued tableaux has long been instrumental in proving the Schur positivity of stable symmetric Grothendieck polynomials, lattice models have emerged as a modern framework for investigating symmetric functions, in particular symmetric Grothendieck polynomials. In this work, we synthesize these combinatorial and lattice-theoretic approaches by defining both the Robinson--Schensted--Knuth (RSK) correspondence and the uncrowding operation directly on a 5-vertex model of Motegi and Sakai and its subsequent reinterpretation by Buciumas, Scrimshaw, and Weber. Our lattice-based RSK formulation yields a powerful new result: the direct construction of the associated crystal structure on the states of the 5-vertex model.

Counterexamples to Robichaux's conjecture for Grothendieck polynomials
Ross and Yong conjectured a $K$-theoretic Kohnert rule for Grothendieck polynomials. Robichaux exhibited a counterexample to the Ross--Yong rule and proposed a revised ghost $K$-Kohnert rule, proving both rules hold for 321-avoiding permutations. We provide counterexamples to Robichaux's rule and give an explicit bijection showing that both the Ross--Yong and Robichaux rules hold for 1432-avoiding permutations. As an application, we provide a Kohnert-theoretic characterization of 1432-avoidance.

Constructing Maximal Bumpless Pipedreams for Double Grothendieck Polynomials
Pipedreams and bumpless pipedreams are two combinatorial models that compute double Grothendieck polynomials. While studying matrix Schubert varieties, Pechenik, Speyer, and Weigandt defined a permutation statistic$\mathsf{rajcode}(\cdot)$ that captures the leading monomial of the top-degree components of a Grothendieck polynomial. Combinatorially, their result implies that there exists a unique pipedream (or bumpless pipedream) with row weight $\mathsf{rajcode}(w)$ and column weight $\mathsf{rajcode}(w^{-1})$. A construction of such a pipedream was subsequently given by Chou and Yu. In this paper, we resolve the bumpless pipedream version of this problem by providing an explicit algorithm.

Grove polynomials and $K$-theoretic quasisymmetry
We define the grove polynomials, a set-valued extension of forest polynomials. We show that they are $K$-theoretically dual to the quasisymmetric Schubert cells which pave the quasisymmetric flag variety, in the same way that Grothendieck polynomials are dual to Schubert cells in the complete flag variety. As a consequence, the finite truncations of the multi-fundamental quasisymmetric functions of Lam-Pylyavskyy acquire a geometric interpretation as $K$-theoretic representatives of quasisymmetric Schubert cells.

Inhomogeneous $q$-Whittaker polynomials II: ring theorem and positive specializations
We study inhomogeneous $q$-Whittaker polynomials which extend both $q$-Whittaker and stable Grothendieck polynomials. We prove that inhomogeneous $q$-Whittaker polynomials (in countably many variables) form a basis of certain commutative ring extending the ring of symmetric functions to a subring of its completion. We then describe positive specializations of that ring and relate them with a subset of Macdonald-positive specializations of the ring of symmetric functions. We also show some related probability distributions obtained from positive specializations of inhomogeneous $q$-Whittaker polynomials.

Lattice-free Schubitopes
In this paper, we provide a simple criterion for the Schubitope $\mathcal{S}_{D}$ associated to a diagram $D$ to be lattice-free. We further show that $\mathcal{S}_{D}$ is lattice-free if and only if its Ehrhart polynomial is equal to the product of Ehrhart polynomials of the Schubert matroid polytopes corresponding to each column of $D$. As applications, we obtain that the Newton polytopes of the Schubert polynomial $\mathfrak{S}_w(x)$ and the Grothendieck polynomial $\mathfrak{G}_w(x)$ are lattice-free if and only if $w$ avoids the patterns 1423, 1432, 13254, and confirm several conjectures by Mészáros, Setiabrata, and St.Dizier on the support of Grothendieck polynomials for this class of permutations.

Principal specializations of Grothendieck polynomials
Motivated by Stanley's ``Schubert shenanigans'' paper, commendable attempts have been made to understand the principal specializations of Schubert or Grothendieck polynomials. In this paper, we prove that when a permutation $w$ does not contain the $1423$ pattern, the principal specialization of the corresponding $β$-Grothendieck polynomial can be expressed nonnegatively in terms of the occurrences of patterns in $w$. Using an inverse conservation principle, we further obtain the nonnegativity expansion for permutations avoiding the $1342$ pattern. Our results partially resolve conjectures raised respectively by Gao (independently observed by Gaetz), Meśzáros--Tanjaya, and Dennin. The proofs are achieved based upon a reduction algorithm performing on the classic pipe dream model of $β$-Grothendieck polynomials.

Grothendieck Weights on Permutohedral Varieties and Matroids
Grothendieck weights, introduced by Shah, are $K$-theoretic analogues of Minkowski weights on smooth toric varieties. We study Grothendieck weights on the permutohedral fan and prove two main results: a $K$-balancing condition that characterizes Grothendieck weights by a finite system of linear equations, and an explicit product rule for the ring structure. We apply this framework to matroids, giving a combinatorial characterization of Grothendieck weights on matroidal fans. As the main application, we compute the motivic Chern class of the hyperplane arrangement complement in its wonderful compactification and show that the result depends only on the matroid, not on the realization. This allows us to extend the definition of the motivic Chern class to all loopless matroids.
Linearly distributive coherence in the absence of units
Coherence in a monoidal category asserts that all morphisms built from structural isomorphisms with a fixed source and target coincide. These structural isomorphisms include, in particular, the associators. Linearly distributive categories carry two tensor products, with structural morphisms given by associators and distributors relating the two tensor products. In several examples, including Grothendieck--Verdier categories, also known as $\ast$-autonomous categories, these distributors need not be invertible. We give a self-contained proof that linearly distributive categories without units are coherent, while units may obstruct coherence. With the same techniques, we also establish an analogous coherence result for Frobenius linearly distributive functors without units. These results admit a reformulation in terms of directed paths in associahedra and multiplihedra.

The interval neighborhoods in the real Grothendieck groups
For a finite dimensional algebra $A$, the TF equivalence on the real Grothendieck group $K_0(\operatorname{\mathsf{proj}} A)_\mathbb{R}$ can be regarded as a completion of the $g$-fan. For example, the silting cones $C^\circ(U)$ of 2-term presilting complexes $U$ give the most fundamental family of TF equivalence classes. The next step is studying the TF equivalence classes around each silting cone $C^\circ(U)$. Thus, in this paper, we investigate the closed interval neighborhood $D(U)$ of $C^\circ(U)$. As our main result, we give a $2^{|U|}:1$ correspondence between the TF equivalence classes in $D(U)$ and those in $K_0(\operatorname{\mathsf{proj}} B)_\mathbb{R}$, where $B$ is the algebra appearing in the $τ$-tilting reduction at $U$. For this purpose, we give an explicit description of defining inequalities and the faces of $D(U)$ as a polyhedral cone, by using 2-term simple-minded collections and $M$-TF equivalences.
Neutral-Fermion constructions of factorial $gp$-and $gq$-Functions
We develop neutral-fermionic constructions for the factorial $gp$- and $gq$-functions introduced by Nakagawa and Naruse, which are respectively dual to the factorial $GQ$- and $GP$-functions of Ikeda and Naruse. In particular, we realize the factorial $GP$-, $GQ$- and $gq$-functions as vacuum expectation values. As applications, we obtain, Jacobi--Trudi type determinantal formulas for the transition coefficients between functions with different equivariant parameters for $gq$ and its dual $GP$, as well as a Pfaffian formula for the factorial $gq$-functions. We further prove a remarkable coincidence among the transition coefficients for parameter changes for $gp$, $gq$, $GQ$, and $GP$. These coefficients admit a description in terms of factorial Grothendieck polynomials of type A.

Computation and sampling for Schubert specializations
We present computational results on principal specializations $\mathfrak{S}_w(1^n)$ of Schubert polynomials, which count reduced pipe dreams and reduced bumpless pipe dreams (RBPD). We find the first counterexample, at $n=17$, to the Merzon-Smirnov conjecture (arXiv:1410.6857) that the maximum of $\mathfrak{S}_w(1^n)$ over $S_n$ is attained at a layered permutation. The simulations suggest that $\lim_{n \to \infty} \log(\max_{w\in S_n}\mathfrak{S}_w(1^n))/n^2$ equals the maximal layered permutations' constant from Morales-Pak-Panova (arXiv:1805.04341). We also explore the random permutation drawn from the distribution proportional to $\mathfrak{S}_w(1^n)$, revealing permuton-like asymptotics similar to those for Grothendieck polynomials by Morales-Panova-Petrov-Yeliussizov (arXiv:2407.21653). We implement and compare three recurrences for $\mathfrak{S}_w(1^n)$: the descent formula (Macdonald), transition formula (Lascoux--Schutzenberger), and cotransition formula (Knutson). For sampling uniformly random RBPDs (whose count is $\sum_{w\in S_n} \mathfrak{S}_w(1^n)$), we show that reducedness breaks the sublattice property of the ASM lattice, preventing monotone CFTP and causing false coalescence. We develop an efficient MCMC sampler with macroscopic "droop" updates for connectivity and fast mixing. Our code computes $\mathfrak{S}_w(1^n)$ up to $n\sim 20$ and samples random RBPDs up to $n\sim 60$ on a personal computer ($n\sim 100$ on a cluster).

Pólya enumeration, wreath product symmetric functions, and moduli spaces of curves
We develop a calculus for $S_n$-equivariant Euler characteristics of moduli spaces of stable curves and stable maps. Our approach involves an enrichment of Pólya's cycle index polynomial of a graph to a certain algebra $Λ^{[2]}$ of wreath product symmetric functions. Building on foundational work of Macdonald, we prove that $Λ^{[2]}$ may be viewed as the Grothendieck ring of the category of polynomial functors which map symmetric sequences of vector spaces to vector spaces. This interpretation gives rise to an action of $Λ^{[2]}$ on the ordinary ring of symmetric functions $Λ$, which is described concretely in terms of Adams operations and skewing by power sums. This action lets us deduce appealing formulas, involving only ordinary symmetric functions, for generating functions of $S_n$-equivariant Euler characteristics.
