Borsuk-Ulam type theorem for the orthogonal group and orthogonal four-partitions
Given a finite Borel measure $μ$ in $\mathbb{R}^d$, when can one find $d$ mutually orthogonal hyperplanes such that \emph{every pair} of them cuts $μ$ into four equal parts? Makeev [2] stated this result and outlined a proof strategy, but the key steps were left incomplete. We give the first complete proof. The key step is a Borsuk--Ulam-type theorem for the orthogonal group~$O(k)$: every continuous equivariant map from~$O(k)$ to a certain representation of the hyperoctahedral group~$B_k$ must vanish somewhere. We construct an explicit model map whose zero set consists of exactly one free $B_k$-orbit --- the set of all signed eigenbases of a fixed generic self-adjoint operator~$A$ --- verify nondegeneracy by an explicit derivative calculation, and conclude by the equivariant degree principle. The proof requires only linear algebra and elementary topology. The four-partition theorem follows immediately: the orthogonal hyperplanes are encoded as a frame in $O(d)$, and the equivariant map records the imbalance of $μ$ across each pair of hyperplanes. A zero of this map is the desired configuration. The result is a special case of a general zero theorem for Stiefel manifolds proved in [5] by different methods.

Haglund--Haiman--Loehr formula via Carlsson--Mellit Algebra
We prove a Haglund--Haiman--Loehr type combinatorial formula for the torus fixed point classes $I_{μ,w}$ in the equivariant $K$-theory $K_{\mathbb{C}^{*}\times\mathbb{C}^{*}}(\operatorname{PFH}_{n,n-k})$ of parabolic flag Hilbert schemes. Under the identification of Bechtloff Weising and Orr, our result gives an HHL type formula for modified partially symmetric Macdonald functions in terms of weighted partial Dyck paths. When $w=\emptyset$, it specializes to the classical HHL formula. The proof relies essentially on the Carlsson--Gorsky--Mellit action of the Carlsson--Mellit algebra $\mathbb{A}_{q,t}$.

A $(q,t)$-Overview of $q$-Analogs
By a simple homogenization process, one may turn a $q$-analog into a symmetric $(q,t)$-analog. Although simple, this bijective correspondence makes many concepts and identities become more natural, and proofs follow readily from classical properties of symmetric functions in two variables. A more intricate non-homogeneous extension is also developed. We illustrate this approach, revisiting recent developments in the study of $γ$-positivity, Lucas analogues, and the monoid of Cyclotomic generating functions. This also leads naturally to new constructions and conjectures. We further explore other avenues of investigations, included graded and equivariant $γ$-positivity and $γ$-anti-positivity (also known as alternatingly $γ$-positive).

Equivariant Analytic Spectral Invariants of Açıkmeşe Lifts of Graphs with Self-Loops
We introduce and study equivariant analytic spectral invariants associated with the Açıkmeşe lift of a graph with self-loops $G_S$. The canonical $\mathbb{Z}_2$-action yields an orthogonal isotypic decomposition of the lifted Laplacian into the anti-symmetric part $\mathcal{L}(G_S)$ and the symmetric part $M_{sym}$, from which we prove that the spectrum of $\mathcal{L}(G_S)$ is exactly the even-indexed spectrum of the lifted Laplacian. We express twisted moments of these blocks as traces of the generalised twisted moment operator against the corresponding $\mathbb{Z}_2$-projections, and obtain a tight upper bound under certain restriction with a characterization of the equality case. We introduce the equivariant heat character and establish a trace-norm stability estimate. For the matrix element of the resolvent $(pI+\mathcal{L}(G_S))^{-1}$ associated with the loop vector, we derive a Laplace-transform identity for the equivariant heat character, a determinant formula, a spectral representation, and a Laurent expansion. We further characterize the case where $S$ is a union of connected components through resolvent and equivariant heat-character identities, and obtain explicit equivariant heat characters for joins of full-loop graphs and the line graph of a full-loop connected regular graph. Finally, we introduce the regularized equivariant heat integral and derive spectral and trace formulas for it.

Invariant chains of graphs
We initiate a systematic study of Inc-invariant chains of graphs, the combinatorial counterparts of Inc-invariant chains of edge ideals arising in the theory of equivariant Noetherianity. Such a chain consists of graphs on growing vertex sets whose edge sets are compatible with the action of the monoid of strictly increasing maps on the positive integers. We show that several associated combinatorial invariants exhibit rigid asymptotic behavior. The independence number eventually stabilizes, and every fixed entry of the $f$-vector and the $h$-vector of the independence complex is eventually linear. For clique complexes, every fixed entry of the $f$-vector is eventually polynomial, whereas the entries of the $h$-vector are eventually quasi-polynomial. Moreover, the clique and chromatic numbers are eventually quasi-linear, and their difference is eventually at most one. We also prove that the matching number eventually attains the maximal value $\lfloor n/2\rfloor$. Finally, admissible and minimal paths eventually have lengths at most $3$ and $5$, respectively, and their maximal lengths stabilize. These results reveal strong asymptotic regularity in graph families governed by increasing symmetry.

Monodromy of plane curve singularities and quiver mutation
The main result of this article shows that the quiver mutation class of a malleable real Morsification uniquely determines the integral monodromy module of a plane curve singularity. In particular, we show that the quiver mutation class of a malleable divide determines the complex topological type of an irreducible plane curve singularity. This establishes the algebraic-to-topological implication of a conjecture of S.~Fomin, P.~Pylyavskyy, E.~Shustin and D.~Thurston in the malleable irreducible case. The result is proven by developing representation-theoretic techniques based on an equivariant Euler pairing in the derived category of continuous finite-dimensional dg modules over a differential bigraded Ginzburg algebra. A key step uses these techniques to show that the quiver mutation class of a plabic fence uniquely recovers the torsion part of the Alexander module of the associated smooth link.

Combinatorial and algebraic proofs of Keller's $A_2\square A_2$ $q$-dilogarithm identity
The classical Durfee-square argument gives a combinatorial proof of the pentagon identity for the quantum dilogarithm. Just as the pentagon identity is associated with the $A_2$ quiver, Keller's identity is associated with the square-product quiver $A_2\square A_2$. Previous proofs of Keller's identity use cluster categories or spectral sequences in rapid-decay equivariant cohomology. We give three proofs of Keller's identity: a generating-function proof, an explicit weight-preserving bijection on colored partitions, and a standard-monomial proof using a four-colored arc algebra. Their common mechanism is an iterated Durfee decomposition: two possible pairings give horizontal and vertical decompositions, while a third binary step accounts for the coupling factor. These constructions provide a ``superpotential analogue'' of the Durfee-square argument.

Stronger Lower Bounds for Tree Covers via Cyclic Symmetry
A tree cover of an $n$-point metric space is a collection of $k$ dominating trees such that every pairwise distance is approximately preserved by at least one tree. The best known general upper bound on the distortion is $\widetilde{O}(n^{1/k})$. Recently, Chen, Tan, and Xu (ITCS 2026, SICOMP 2026) proved a lower bound of $Ω_k(n^{1/2^{k-1}})$ using a topological approach. We improve their lower bound to $Ω_k(n^{1/[k(p-1)]})=Ω_k(n^{1/O(k^2)})$, where $p$ is the smallest prime strictly larger than $k$. Thus, the gap between the known upper and lower exponents is reduced from exponential in $k$ to a factor of $O(k)$. Our key observation is a qualitative difference between the antipodal symmetry underlying the binary labels in the previous approach and the cyclic symmetry used here. In the binary setting, every joint label has a unique antipodal partner, whereas every label in $\mathbb{Z}_p^k$ has many partners that differ from it in every coordinate. This flexibility allows an equivariant Borsuk--Ulam-type theorem in only $k(p-1)$ dimensions to produce two nearby vertices with different labels in all $k$ trees. A cyclic unwinding argument then shows that they are far apart in every tree.

Higher cluster tilting objects in locally finite triangulated categories
We study higher cluster tilting objects through covering functors from derived categories of hereditary algebras. The covering formalism reduces the existence problem to the equivariant problem of finding \(G\)-stable \(d\)-cluster tilting objects in \(d\)-cluster categories. For triangulated categories with finitely many indecomposable objects this gives a complete ADE existence criterion and explicit counting formulas. We also prove that, in finite Frobenius models, the endomorphism algebras of all \(d\)-cluster tilting objects are derived equivalent. Applications are given to Cohen--Macaulay finite categories, finite noncommutative crepant resolutions, and rigidity dimensions of representation-finite self-injective algebras.

A Chain-Level Borsuk--Ulam Obstruction Proof of Norine's Antipodal-Coloring Conjecture
We prove Norine's conjecture: every red--blue edge-coloring of the \(n\)-dimensional hypercube \(Q_n\), \(n\geq2\), in which antipodal edges have opposite colors contains a monochromatic path joining some vertex to its antipode. From a hypothetical counterexample we construct an antipodally equivariant, augmentation-preserving chain map from the cellular chains of the cubical boundary of a cube to subdivision-invariant polyhedral chains on a sphere of one lower dimension. A purely algebraic chain-level Borsuk--Ulam obstruction rules out this map.

Equivariant Schubert Calculus for Inverse Grassmannian Permutations
We give a Graham-positive expansion for the product of two double Schubert polynomials indexed by two inverse Grassmannian permutations. Surprisingly, the nonzero structure constants are double Schubert polynomials in two disjoint sets of equivariant variables. We also give a positive expansion for the product of two single Schubert polynomials indexed by a $321$-avoiding permutation (e.g., a Grassmannian permutation) and an inverse Grassmannian permutation. Unexpectedly, the nonzero structure constants are Edelman--Greene coefficients.
Network Realignment Complexes over General Graphs
Network realignment complexes were introduced by Kozlov. We generalise their definition to arbitrary connected base graphs. For a connected graph $G$, we characterise the connected components of the associated network realignment complex $X_G$ and show that $X_G$ admits an $\operatorname{Aut}(G)$-equivariant strong deformation retraction onto the disjoint union of a complete graph and a discrete $\operatorname{Aut}(G)$-space. For the complete base graph $K_n$, we study the metric structure of the network realignment graph $\mathcal{G}_n$ and obtain explicit upper and lower bounds for its diameter. Finally, we prove that $X_n$ is a cubical flag complex and that every automorphism of $X_n$ is induced by a relabelling of the underlying vertex set. In particular, $\operatorname{Aut}(X_n)\cong S_n$ for all $n\geq 5$.

On the Gap Between the Co-Indices of a Free Z_2-Space and Its Suspension
For a free $\mathbb{Z}_2$-space $X$, the co-index $\mathrm{coind}(X)$ is the largest integer $m$ for which there exists a $\mathbb{Z}_2$-equivariant map $S^m \to X$, where $S^m$ carries the antipodal action. Since suspension sends such a map to a $\mathbb{Z}_2$-equivariant map $S^{m+1}\to S(X),$ one always has $$\mathrm{coind}(S(X)) \geq \mathrm{coind}(X)+1.$$ We prove that the excess over this lower bound can be arbitrarily large. More precisely, for every $n \geq 2$, we construct a finite free $n$-dimensional simplicial $\mathbb{Z}_2$-complex $\mathcal{K}$ such that $\mathrm{coind}(\mathcal{K})=1$ and $\mathrm{coind}(S(\mathcal{K}))=n+1$. This answers a question of Simonyi, Tardos, and Vrécica on the possible growth of co-index under suspension and, equivalently, shows that the co-index lower bound on the chromatic number of a graph $G$ obtained from $B_0(G)$ can exceed the corresponding bound obtained from the box complex $B(G)$ by an arbitrarily large amount.

Motivic quasimap wall-crossing for Grassmannians
We prove a wall-crossing formula for the Euler characteristics, considered as virtual mixed Hodge structures, of moduli spaces of $\varepsilon$-stable quasimaps to the Grassmannian $\mathbb{G}(r, N)$. For each $\varepsilon > 0$, we define a $\mathbb{Q}$-algebra automorphism of the ring of symmetric functions which takes the generating function for the $\mathbb{S}_n$-equivariant Euler characteristics of the moduli spaces of stable maps $\overline{\mathcal{M}}_{g, n}(\mathbb{G}(r, N), d)$ to the corresponding generating function for Toda's moduli spaces of $\varepsilon$-stable quasimaps $\overline{\mathcal{Q}}_{g, n}^{\varepsilon}(\mathbb{G}(r, N), d)$. The automorphism is given by explicit $q$-deformations of the power sum symmetric functions. The $\varepsilon \to 0$ limit of our formula exchanges the spaces of stable maps and the Marian--Oprea--Pandharipande moduli spaces of stable quotients. Our proof uses the geometry of relative Quot schemes to relate the quasimap spaces to moduli spaces of weighted stable maps, for which we obtain wall-crossing formulas via symmetric function theory.

Transfer systems give matroids only for cyclic $p$-groups
Transfer systems as studied in equivariant algebra admit minimal generating sets, analogous to bases in linear algebra. It is natural to wonder if minimal generating sets form a matroid. We show that this happens only for lattices which are linear orders, or for cyclic groups of prime power order. In this case, we compute some invariants of the resulting matroid.
Hierarchical Reinforcement Learning for Sparse-Reward Search in Commutative Algebra
Applying machine learning techniques to solving long-standing mathematical conjectures can be particularly challenging due to their extreme reward sparsity. As an illustrative example, we consider Kalai's algebraic Hirsch conjecture and recast the construction of its counterexamples as a sparse-reward reinforcement learning problem on graphs. We propose a constrained options-based HRL framework with an equivariant graph neural network policy, which allows us to learn useful temporal abstractions for this task. We evaluate our approach over a wide range of degrees and demonstrate that it consistently outperforms classical RL algorithms as well as greedy search. By exploiting the hierarchical structure of the problem, we effectively provide a first-of-its-kind application of HRL to a problem in commutative algebra.

Vertex cuts and median decompositions
Median decompositions were introduced by Stavropoulos in 2015 as a generalisation of tree decompositions. In this paper, we further develop and exposit this theory as a tool in structural graph theory to study systems of vertex separations. Generalising the well-known fact that nested systems of vertex separations produce tree decompositions of a graph over the structure tree, we describe how a (not necessarily nested) system of separations produces a median decomposition. The median graph in this decomposition is the `dual median graph' constructed by Sageev. If the system of cuts is nested then this median decomposition recovers precisely the aforementioned tree decomposition. We prove a theorem asserting that this decomposition is `uniquely minimal', and describe how Sageev--Roller duality manifests in median decompositions. As an application of our structural approach, we extend a theorem of Stavropoulos from finite graphs to all graphs, which states that the median-width a graph is equal to its clique number. We also describe the link between (canonical) median decompositions and (equivariant) coarse embeddings/quasi-isometries into median graphs. A corollary of these results is a characterisation of when a finitely generated group acts metrically-properly/geometrically on a median graph, in terms of canonical median decompositions of its Cayley graphs.

On monoids up to symmetry

We study monoids in an infinite-dimensional setting that are invariant under the action of the infinite symmetric group Sym. Our main result establishes a local--global principle characterizing equivariant finite generation for arbitrary Sym-invariant monoids, extending earlier results that required additional assumptions. We further analyze local--global phenomena for other fundamental properties, including positivity, normality, seminormality, and simplicity. In addition, we obtain structural results for symmetric monoids, including characterizations of positivity and non-positivity, a description of their groups of units, and explicit formulas for the ranks of local symmetric monoids and stabilizing Sym-invariant chains.

Duality of monoids up to symmetry
We study duality for monoids in an infinite-dimensional setting that are invariant under the action of the infinite symmetric group Sym. Our main result is an equivariant Minkowski--Weyl theorem for monoids. More precisely, we analyze the evolution of dual monoids along stabilizing Sym-invariant chains and describe the eventual behavior of their equivariant Hilbert bases. In addition, we develop a systematic study of structural properties of dual symmetric monoids, including a characterization of the duals of positive and non-positive monoids.

On zero-sum polytopes: reciprocity, rigidity, and cyclic sieving
Let $G$ be a finite abelian group of order $n$, and let $\mathsf M(G,m)$ denote the set of zero-sum sequences over $G$ of length $m$. We introduce the zero-sum polytope $\mathcal P_G$, a rational polytope of dimension $n-1$, whose lattice points encode zero-sum sequences: \[ |\mathsf M(G,m)|=|m\mathcal P_G\cap \mathbb Z^n|. \] This naturally realizes the enumeration of zero-sum sequences as a problem in rational Ehrhart theory, which leads to a combinatorial reciprocity theorem identifying the negative evaluations of the corresponding counting quasipolynomial with zero-sum sequences of full support. Our main results establish a face-stratified rigidity for zero-sum polytopes: whenever two such polytopes have equal total lattice point counts at specific dilations, the dimension-wise open-face strata are equinumerous. Moreover, we study the natural $\operatorname{Aut}(G)$-action on $\mathcal P_G$, derive equivariant generating functions and reciprocity formulas, and obtain cyclic sieving phenomena for natural cyclic actions.
