A $(q,t)$-Overview of $q$-Analogs
By a simple homogenization process, one may turn a $q$-analog into a symmetric $(q,t)$-analog. Although simple, this bijective correspondence makes many concepts and identities become more natural, and proofs follow readily from classical properties of symmetric functions in two variables. A more intricate non-homogeneous extension is also developed. We illustrate this approach, revisiting recent developments in the study of $γ$-positivity, Lucas analogues, and the monoid of Cyclotomic generating functions. This also leads naturally to new constructions and conjectures. We further explore other avenues of investigations, included graded and equivariant $γ$-positivity and $γ$-anti-positivity (also known as alternatingly $γ$-positive).
A memorial tribute: Adriano Garsia (1928--2024)
Adriano Mario Garsia was born in Tunis on August 20, 1928, to a Tunisian-Italian family. He lived on a farm there until the end of World War II, then moved to Rome. After finishing high school, he was sent to the United States to live with relatives in Woyming and eventually made his way to California, becoming a student of Charles Loewner at Stanford in the early 1950s. Following his Ph.D., Adriano held positions at MIT, the University of Minnesota, and Caltech before joining the nascent mathematics department at the University of California, San Diego, in 1966 where he spent the remainder of his career. He passed away in San Diego on October 6, 2024, at the age of 96.
Triangular Diagonal Harmonics Conjectures
The purpose of this paper is mostly to present conjectures that extend, to the ``triangular partition'' context (partitions ``under any line'' in the terminology of Blaziak-Haiman-Morse-Pun-Seelinger), properties of Frobenius of multivariate diagonal harmonics modules
The super nabla operator
We consider here a new operator, called ``super nabla'', which is shown to be generic among operators for which the modified Macdonald polynomials are joint eigenfunctions. All previously known Macdonald eigenoperators can readily be obtained from super nabla, including the usual nabla operator, the Delta operators, and other operators that have appeared in the literature. Thus, the super nabla operator furnishes an overall unified viewpoint on this family of operators, as well as opening up new possibilities. We prove several new identities arising from specializations of the parameters $q$ and $t$ involved in the specification of these operators, as well as unifying combinatorial interpretations.
Combinatorics of Triangular Partitions

The aim of this paper is to develop the combinatorics of constructions associated to what we call \emph{triangular partitions}. As introduced in arXiv:2102.07931, these are the partitions whose cells are those lying below the line joining points $(r,0)$ and $(0,s)$, for any given positive reals $r$ and $s$. Classical notions such as Dyck paths and parking functions are naturally generalized by considering the set of partitions included in a given triangular partition. One of our striking results is that the restriction of the Young lattice to triangular partition has a planar Hasse diagram, with many nice properties. It follows that we may generalize the "first-return" recurrence, for the enumeration of classical Dyck paths, to the enumeration of all partitions contained in a fixed triangular one.
Symmetric Functions and Rectangular Catalan Combinatorics
Symmetric functions provide one of the most efficient tools for combinatorial enumeration, in the context of objects that may be acted upon by permutations. Only assuming a basic knowledge of linear algebra, we introduce and describe the classical toolbox of symmetric functions, and give many examples of their uses. In particular, we present how classical formulas of enumerative combinatorics afford a natural generalization in terms of symmetric functions. We then rapidly present Macdonald symmetric functions and associated operators, to go on with the description of their relations to rectangular Catalan combinatorics. We also discuss the link with a realization of the elliptic Hall algebra, as an algebra of operators on symmetric functions.
Macdonald polynomials and operators and Catalan Combinatorics
Our main aim with these notes is to introduce the combinatorial and symmetric function tools that relate to the description of the Poincare polynomial of the triply graded Khovanov-Rozansky homology of torus links, a.k.a. the (reduced) superpolynomial of these links.
The Bosonic-Fermionic Diagonal Coinvariant Modules Conjecture
We describe a general conjecture on how one may derive from the generic bosonic case all structural properties of multivariate diagonal coinvariant modules in $k$ sets of $n$ commuting variables (bosons), and $j$ sets of $n$ anticommuting variables (fermions).

This is the first in a series of papers in which we describe explicit structural properties of spaces of diagonal rectangular harmonic polynomials in $k$ sets of $n$ variables, both as $GL_k$-modules and $S_n$-modules, as well as some of there relations to areas such as Algebraic Combinatorics, Representation Theory, Algebraic Geometry, Knot Theory, and Theoretical Physics. Our global aim is to develop a unifying point of view for several areas of research of the last two decades having to do with Macdonald Polynomials Operator Theory, Diagonal Coinvariant Spaces, Rectangular-Catalan Combinatorics, the Delta-Conjecture, Hilbert Scheme of Points in the Plane, Khovanov-Rozansky Homology of $(m,n)$-Torus links, etc.
(GL_k x S_n)-modules and nabla of hook-indexed Schur functions
The aim of this paper is to describe structural properties of spaces of diagonal rectangular harmonic polynomials in several sets (say $k$) of $n$ variables, both as $GL_k$-modules and $S_n$-modules. We construct explicit such modules associated to any hook shape partitions. For the two sets of variables case, we conjecture that the associated graded Frobenius characteristic corresponds to the effect of the operator Nabla on the corresponding hook-indexed Schur function, up to a usual renormalization. We prove identities that give indirect support to this conjecture, and show that its restriction to one set of variables holds. We further give indications on how the several sets context gives a better understanding of questions regarding the structures of these modules and the links between them.
Golden Ratio and Phyllotaxis, what is the mathematical link?

Exploiting Markoff's Theory for rational approximations of real numbers, we explicitly link how hard it is to approximate a given number to an idealized notion of growth capacity for plants which we express as a modular invariant function depending on this number. Assuming that our growth capacity is biologically relevant, this allows us to explain in a satisfying mathematical way why the golden ratio occurs in nature.
Rectangular Schroder Parking Functions Combinatorics
We study Schroder paths drawn in a (m,n) rectangle, for any positive integers m and n. We get explicit enumeration formulas, closely linked to those for the corresponding (m,n)-Dyck paths. Moreover we study a Schroder version of (m,n)-parking functions, and associated (q,t)-analogs.

We formulate many open questions regarding the Schur positivity of the effect of interesting operators on symmetric functions, and give supporting evidence for why one should expect such behavior.
A q-Analog of Foulke's conjecture

We propose a $q$-analog of classical plethystic conjectures due to Foulkes. In our conjectures, a divided difference of plethysms of Hall-Littlewood polynomials $H_n(\mathbf{x};q)$ replaces the analogous difference of plethysms of complete homogeneous symmetric functions $h_n(\mathbf{x})$ in Foulkes conjecture. At $q=0$, we get back the original statement of Foulkes, and we show that our version holds at $q=1$. We discuss further supporting evidence, as well as various generalizations.

We enumerate interlaced pairs of parking functions whose underlying Dyck path has a bounded height. We obtain an explicit formula for this enumeration in the form of a quotient of analogs of Chebicheff polynomials having coefficients in the ring of symmetric functions.
Interlaced rectangular parking functions
The aim of this work is to extend to a general $S_m\times S_n$-module context the Grossman-Bizley paradigm that allows the enumeration of Dyck paths in a $m\times n$-rectangle. We obtain an explicit formula for the the "bi-Frobenius" characteristic of what we call {\em interlaced} rectangular parking functions in an $m\times n$-rectangle. These are obtained by labelling the $n$ vertical steps of an $m\times n$-Dyck path by the numbers from $1$ to $n$, together with an independent labelling of its horizontal steps by integers from $1$ to $m$. Our formula specializes to give the Frobenius characteristic of the $S_n$-module of $m\times n$-parking functions in the general situation. Hence, it subsumes the result of Armstrong-Loehr-Warrington which furnishes such a formula for the special case when $m$ and $n$ are coprime integers.
Some remarkable new Plethystic Operators in the Theory of Macdonald Polynomials

In the 90's a collection of Plethystic operators were introduced in [3], [7] and [8] to solve some Representation Theoretical problems arising from the Theory of Macdonald polynomials. This collection was enriched in the research that led to the results which appeared in [5], [6] and [9]. However since some of the identities resulting from these efforts were eventually not needed, this additional work remained unpublished. As a consequence of very recent publications [4], [11], [19], [20], [21], a truly remarkable expansion of this theory has taken place. However most of this work has appeared in a language that is virtually inaccessible to practitioners of Algebraic Combinatorics. Yet, these developments have led to a variety of new conjectures in [2] in the Combinatorics and Symmetric function Theory of Macdonald Polynomials. The present work results from an effort to obtain in an elementary and accessible manner all the background necessary to construct the symmetric function side of some of these new conjectures. It turns out that the above mentioned unpublished results provide precisely the tools needed to carry out this project to its completion.
Compositional (km,kn)-Shuffle Conjectures

In 2008, Haglund, Morse and Zabrocki formulated a Compositional form of the Shuffle Conjecture of Haglund et al. In very recent work, Gorsky and Negut by combining their discoveries with the work of Schiffmann-Vasserot on the symmetric function side and the work of Hikita and Gorsky-Mazin on the combinatorial side, were led to formulate an infinite family of conjectures that extend the original Shuffle Conjecture of Haglund et al. In fact, they formulated one conjecture for each pair (m,n) of coprime integers. This work of Gorsky-Negut leads naturally to the question as to where the Compositional Shuffle Conjecture of Haglund-Morse-Zabrocki fits into these recent developments. Our discovery here is that there is a compositional extension of the Gorsky-Negut Shuffle Conjecture for each pair (km,kn), with (m,n) co-prime and k > 1.
Combinatorics of r-Dyck paths, r-Parking functions, and the r-Tamari lattices
This paper's aim is to present recent combinatorial considerations on r-Dyck paths, r-Parking functions, and the r-Tamari lattices. Giving a better understanding of the combinatorics of these objects has become important in view of their (conjectural) role in the description of the graded character of the Sn-modules of bivariate and trivariate diagonal coinvariant spaces for the symmetric group.

We study, in a global uniform manner, the quotient of the ring of polynomials in l sets of n variables, by the ideal generated by diagonal quasi-invariant polynomials for general permutation groups W=G(r,n). We show that, for each such group W, there is an explicit universal symmetric function that gives the N^l-graded Hilbert series for these spaces. This function is universal in that its dependance on l only involves the number of variables it is calculated with. We also discuss the combinatorial implications of the observed fact that it affords an expansion as a positive coefficient polynomial in the complete homogeneous symmetric functions.
