Khovanov-Rozansky homology of Coxeter knots and Schröder polynomials for paths under any line
We introduce a family of generalized Schröder polynomials $S_τ(q,t,a)$, indexed by triangular partitions $τ$ and prove that $S_τ(q,t,a)$ agrees with the Poincaré series of the triply graded Khovanov-Rozansky homology of the Coxeter knot $K_τ$ associated to $τ$. For all integers $m,n,d\geq 1$ with $m,n$ relatively prime, the $(d,mnd+1)$-cable of the torus knot $T(m,n)$ appears as a special case. It is known that these knots are algebraic, and as a result we obtain a proof of the $q=1$ specialization of the Oblomkov-Rasmussen-Shende conjecture for these knots. Finally, we show that our Schröder polynomial computes the hook components in the Schur expansion of the symmetric function appearing in the shuffle theorem under any line, thus proving a triangular version of the $(q,t)$-Schröder theorem.

Generic curves and non-coprime Catalans
Published in Algebraic Geometry, 2024 • Search Publication
We compute the Poincaré polynomials of the compactified Jacobians for plane curve singularities with Puiseaux exponents $(nd,md,md+1)$, and relate them to the combinatorics of $q,t$-Catalan numbers in the non-coprime case. We also confirm a conjecture of Cherednik and Danilenko for such curves.

Equivariant K-theory of the space of partial flags

We use Drinfeld style generators and relations to define an algebra $\mathfrak{U}_n$ which is a ``$q=0$'' version of the affine quantum group of $\mathfrak{gl}_n.$ We then use the convolution product on the equivariant $K$-theory of varieties of pairs of partial flags in a $d$-dimensional vector space $V$ to define affine $0$-Schur algebras ${\mathbb S}_0^{\operatorname{aff}}(n,d)$ and to prove that for every $d$ there exists a surjective homomorphism from $\mathfrak{U}_n$ to ${\mathbb S}_0^{\operatorname{aff}}(n,d).$

Combinatorics of Triangular Partitions
Published • View PublicationBIB
The aim of this paper is to develop the combinatorics of constructions associated to what we call \emph{triangular partitions}. As introduced in arXiv:2102.07931, these are the partitions whose cells are those lying below the line joining points $(r,0)$ and $(0,s)$, for any given positive reals $r$ and $s$. Classical notions such as Dyck paths and parking functions are naturally generalized by considering the set of partitions included in a given triangular partition. One of our striking results is that the restriction of the Young lattice to triangular partition has a planar Hasse diagram, with many nice properties. It follows that we may generalize the "first-return" recurrence, for the enumeration of classical Dyck paths, to the enumeration of all partitions contained in a fixed triangular one.

Recursions for rational q,t-Catalan numbers
Published in J. Combin. Theory Ser. A 173 (2020), 105237 • View PublicationBIB
We give a simple recursion labeled by binary sequences which computes rational $q,t$-Catalan power series, both in relatively prime and non relatively prime cases. It is inspired by, but not identical to recursions due to B. Elias, M. Hogancamp, and A. Mellit, obtained in their study of link homology. We also compare our recursion with the Hogancamp-Mellit's recursion and verify a connection between the Khovanov-Rozansky homology of $N,M$-torus links and the rational $q,t$-Catalan power series for general positive $N,M.$

Pak-Stanley labeling for Central Graphical Arrangements
The original Pak-Stanley labeling was defined by Pak and Stanley as a bijective map from the set of regions of an extended Shi arrangement to the set of parking functions. This map was later generalized to other arrangements associated with graphs and directed multigraphs. In these more general cases the map is no longer bijective. However, it was shown Hopkins and Perkinson and then the first author that it is surjective to the set of the $G$-parking functions, where $G$ is the multigraph associated with the arrangement. This leads to a natural question: when is the generalized Pak-Stanley map bijective? In this paper we answer this question in the special case of central hyperplane arrangements, i.e. the case when all the hyperplanes of the arrangement pass through a common point.

Rational Dyck Paths in the Non Relatively Prime Case
Published in The Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, Volume 24, Issue 3 (2017) • View PublicationBIB
We study the relationship between rational slope Dyck paths and invariant subsets of $\mathbb Z,$ extending the work of the first two authors in the relatively prime case. We also find a bijection between $(dn,dm)$--Dyck paths and $d$-tuples of $(n,m)$-Dyck paths endowed with certain gluing data. These are the first steps towards understanding the relationship between rational slope Catalan combinatorics and the geometry of affine Springer fibers and knot invariants in the non relatively prime case.

Rational Parking Functions and LLT Polynomials
Published in Journal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 140 (2016), 123-140 • View PublicationBIB
We prove that the combinatorial side of the "Rational Shuffle Conjecture" provides a Schur-positive symmetric polynomial. Furthermore, we prove that the contribution of a given rational Dyck path can be computed as a certain skew LLT polynomial, thus generalizing the result of Haglund, Haiman, Loehr, Remmel and Ulyanov. The corresponding skew diagram is described explicitly in terms of a certain (m,n)-core.

Multigraph Hyperplane Arrangements and Parking Functions

Back in the nineties Pak and Stanley introduced a labeling of the regions of a k-Shi arrangement by k-parking functions and proved its bijectivity. Duval, Klivans, and Martin considered a modification of this construction associated with a graph G. They introduced the G-Shi arrangement and a labeling of its regions by G-parking functions. They conjectured that their labeling is surjective, i.e. that every G-parking function appears as a label of a region of the G-Shi arrangement. Later Hopkins and Perkinson proved this conjecture. In particular, this provided a new proof of the bijectivity of Pak-Stanley labeling in the k=1 case. We generalize Hopkins-Perkinson's construction to the case of arrangements associated with oriented multigraphs. In particular, our construction provides a simple straightforward proof of the bijectivity of the original Pak-Stanley labeling for arbitrary k.

Affine permutations and rational slope parking functions
Published in Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 368 (2016), 8403-8445 • View PublicationBIB
We introduce a new approach to the enumeration of rational slope parking functions with respect to the area and a generalized dinv statistics, and relate the combinatorics of parking functions to that of affine permutations. We relate our construction to two previously known combinatorial constructions: Haglund's bijection exchanging the pairs of statistics (area, dinv) and (bounce, area) on Dyck paths, and Pak-Stanley labeling of the regions of k-Shi hyperplane arrangements by k-parking functions. Essentially, our approach can be viewed as a generalization and a unification of these two constructions. We also relate our combinatorial constructions to representation theory. We derive new formulas for the Poincare polynomials of certain affine Springer fibers and describe a connection to the theory of finite dimensional representations of DAHA and nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials.

A bijective proof of Loehr-Warrington's formulas for the statistics $\mbox{ctot}_{\frac{q}{p}}$ and $\mbox{midd}_{\frac{q}{p}}$
Published • View PublicationBIB
Loehr and Warrington introduced partitional statistics $\mbox{ctot}_{\frac{q}{p}}(D)$ and $\mbox{midd}_{\frac{q}{p}}(D)$ and provided formulas for these statistics in terms of the boundary graph of the Young diagram $D$. In this paper we give a bijective proof of Loehr-Warrington's formulas using the following simple combinatorial observation: given a Young diagram $D$ and two numbers $a$ and $l,$ the number of boxes in $D$ with the arm length $a$ and the leg length $l$ is one less than the number of boxes with the same properties in the complement to $D.$ Here the complement is taken inside the positive quadrant or, equivalently, a very large rectangle.

Compactified Jacobians and q,t-Catalan numbers, II

We continue the study of the rational-slope generalized $q,t$-Catalan numbers $c_{m,n}(q,t)$. We describe generalizations of the bijective constructions of J. Haglund and N. Loehr and use them to prove a weak symmetry property $c_{m,n}(q,1)=c_{m,n}(1,q)$ for $m=kn\pm 1$. We give a bijective proof of the full symmetry $c_{m,n}(q,t)=c_{m,n}(t,q)$ for $\min(m,n)\le 3$. As a corollary of these combinatorial constructions, we give a simple formula for the Poincaré polynomials of compactified Jacobians of plane curve singularities $x^{kn\pm 1}=y^n$. We also give a geometric interpretation of a relation between rational-slope Catalan numbers and the theory of $(m,n)$-cores discovered by J. Anderson.

J. Piontkowski described the homology of the Jacobi factor of a plane curve singularity with one Puiseux pair. We discuss the combinatorial structure of his answer, in particular, relate it to the bigraded deformation of Catalan numbers introduced by A. Garsia and M. Haiman.
