On certain combinatorial expressions of TASEP transition probabilities
We study combinatorial structures arising from finite-time transition probabilities of the Totally Asymmetric Simple Exclusion Process with open boundary conditions. While much of the existing combinatorial theory regarding the TASEP concerns the steady-state distribution, we focus instead on the transient dynamics. We first show that the enumeration of transition sequences between two configurations of the open TASEP is equivalent to the enumeration of standard Young tableaux of a family of non-classical shapes which have been of recent interest in the combinatorial literature. This extends to the open-boundary setting the correspondence between the TASEP with periodic boundaries and cylindric tableaux.
We then introduce a family of tableau-like objects associated with Young diagrams in which repetitions of cells are allowed, subject to the partial order induced by the diagram. For each diagram, we collect the numbers of these objects into an exponential generating function. We prove that the entries of the homogeneous open TASEP transition matrix can be expressed as signed sums of such generating functions over suitable families of diagrams. This gives a combinatorial and order-theoretic interpretation of finite-time transition probabilities for the open TASEP, analogous to the combinatorial mappings known for steady-state probabilities.
A concise proof of cylindric Schur positivity
Cylindric Schur functions are a family of symmetric functions that generalize skew Schur functions. We give a short proof that skew cylindric Schur functions expand positively in terms of non-skew cylindric Schur functions. In particular, we show that the expansion coefficients are fusion coefficients.
Polynomials from tilings of rectangles
We study tilings of rectangular boards using unit squares together with a single type of big tile shaped as a Ferrers diagram.
We derive generating functions for these tilings, prove real-rootedness and interlacing properties of associated independence polynomials, and establish connections with several sequences in the OEIS. Our results touch on tilings involving L-shaped polyominoes, fault-free tilings, and cylindric variants. We prove that tiling polynomials for two-column Ferrers shapes are real-rooted and form interlacing sequences.
An RSK correspondence for cylindric tableaux
This paper establishes an analogue of the Robinson--Schensted correspondence for cylindric tableaux. In particular, for any pair of positive integers $(d,L)$, we construct a bijection between permutations that avoid the patterns $d\cdots 1 (d+1)$ and $1\cdots (L+1)$ and pairs of $(d,L)$-cylindric standard Young tableaux with a common shape. This arises as a special case of a Knuth-type generalization involving cylindric semistandard tableaux and a further generalization involving oscillating tableaux. Using these results, we construct several other bijections and derive enumerative consequences involving cylindric tableaux and pattern-avoiding permutations. For example, we give asymptotics for the number of permutations in $S_n$ that avoid the patterns $d\cdots 1 (d+1)$ and $1\cdots (L+1)$ as $n\to\infty$.
Tight cylindric partitions
In this note, we initiate the study of generating functions for tight cylindric partitions. For general (i.e., $r$-rowed for $r\geq 2$) tight cylindric partitions, we provide analogs of the Corteel--Welsh functional equations. We prove closed forms for the bivariate generating functions for 2-rowed tight cylindric partitions. We also show that these partitions are in bijection with a class of partitions studied by Dousse, Hardiman, and Konan.
On the representation number of grid graphs and cylindric grid graphs
The representation number of a graph is the minimum number of copies of each vertex required to represent the graph as a word, such that the letters corresponding to vertices $x$ and $y$ alternate if and only if $xy$ is an edge in the graph. It is known that path graphs, circle graphs, and ladder graphs have representation number 2, while prism graphs have representation number 3.
In this paper, we extend these results by showing that generalizations of the aforementioned graphs -- namely, the $m \times n$ grid graphs and $m \times n$ cylindrical grid graphs -- have representation number $3$ for $m \geq 3$ and $m \geq 2$, respectively, and $n\geq 3$. Furthermore, we discuss toroidal grid graphs in the context of word-representability, which leads to an interesting conjecture.
Method of Weighted Words on Cylindric Partitions
We study the generating functions of cylindric partitions having profile $c=(c_1, c_2, \ldots, c_r)$ with rank $2$ and levels $2, 3$ and $4$. As a result, we give expressions alternative to Borodin's formula for these generating functions. We use the method of weighted words which was first introduced by Alladi and Gordon, later was applied by Dousse in a new version to prove some partition identities and to get infinite products. We adapt the method to our subject with a more combinatorial approach.
Cylindric growth diagrams, walks in simplices, and exclusion processes
We establish bijections between three classes of combinatorial objects that have been studied in very different contexts: lattice walks in simplicial regions as introduced by Mortimer--Prellberg, standard cylindric tableaux as introduced by Gessel--Krattenthaler and Postnikov, and sequences of states in the totally asymmetric simple exclusion process. This perspective allows us to translate symmetries from one setting into another, revealing unexpected properties of these objects.
Specifically, we show that a recent bijection of Courtiel, Elvey Price and Marcovici between certain simplicial walks with forward and backward steps is equivalent to a cylindric analogue of the Robinson--Schensted correspondence. Originally defined by Neyman by iterating an insertion operation, we provide an alternative description of this correspondence by introducing a cylindric version of Fomin's growth diagrams. This natural description elucidates the symmetry of the correspondence, and it allows us to interpret the above walks as oscillating cylindric tableaux.
A MacMahon Analysis View of Cylindric Partitions
We study cylindric partitions with two-element profiles using MacMahon's partition analysis. We find explicit formulas for the generating functions of the number of cylindric partitions by first finding the recurrences using partition analysis and then solving them. We also note some q-series identities related to these objects that show the manifestly positive nature of some alternating series. We generalize the proven identities and conjecture new polynomial refinements of Andrews-Gordon and Bressoud identities, which are companions to Foda-Quano's refinements. Finally, using a variant of the Bailey lemma, we present many new infinite hierarchies of polynomial identities.

Rado's theorem about permutahedra and dominance order on partitions reveals that each Schur polynomial is M-convex, or equivalently, it has a saturated Newton polytope and this polytope is a generalized permutahedron as well. In this paper we show that the support of each dual $k$-Schur polynomial indexed by a $k$-bounded partition coincides with that of the Schur polynomial indexed by the same partition, and hence the two polynomials share the same saturated Newton polytope. The main result is based on our recursive algorithm to generate a semistandard $k$-tableau for a given shape and $k$-weight. As consequences, we obtain the M-convexity of dual $k$-Schur polynomials, affine Stanley symmetric polynomials and cylindric skew Schur polynomials.
Cylindric Schur functions
We generalize several classical results about Schur functions to the family of cylindric Schur functions. First, we give a combinatorial proof of a Murnaghan--Nakayama formula for expanding cylindric Schur functions in the power-sum basis. We also explore some cases where this formula is cancellation-free.
The second result is polynomiality of Kostka coefficients associated with stretched row-flagged skew Schur functions. This implies polynomiality of stretched cylindric Kostka coefficients. This generalizes a result by E. Rassart from 2004.
Finally, we also show the saturation property for the row-flagged skew Kostka coefficients which also implies the saturation property for cylindric Schur functions.
A Decomposition of Cylindric Partitions and Cylindric Partitions into Distinct Parts
We show that cylindric partitions are in one-to-one correspondence with a pair which has an ordinary partition and a colored partition into distinct parts. Then, we show the general form of the generating function for cylindric partitions into distinct parts and give some examples. We prove part of a conjecture by Corteel, Dousse, and Uncu. The approaches and proofs are elementary and combinatorial.

In this paper, we study large time large deviations for the height function $\mathfrak{h}(x,t)$ of the $q$-deformed polynuclear growth introduced in ABW22 [arXiv:2108.06018]. We show that the upper-tail deviations have speed $t$ and derive an explicit formula for the rate function $Φ_+(μ)$. On the other hand, we show that the lower-tail deviations have speed $t^2$ and express the corresponding rate function $Φ_-(μ)$ in terms of a variational problem. Our analysis relies on distributional identities between the height function $\mathfrak{h}$ and two important measures on the set of integer partitions: the Poissonized Plancherel measure and the cylindric Plancherel measure. Following a scheme developed in DT21 [arXiv:1910.09271], we analyze a Fredholm determinant representation for the $q$-Laplace transform of $\mathfrak{h}(x,t)$, from which we extract exact Lyapunov exponents and through inversion the upper-tail rate function $Φ_+$. The proof of the lower-tail large deviation principle is more subtle and requires several novel ideas which combine classical asymptotic results for the Plancherel measure and log-concavity properties of Schur polynomials. Techniques we develop to characterize the lower-tail are rather flexible and have the potential to generalize to other solvable growth models.
Companions to the Andrews-Gordon and Andrews-Bressoud identities, and recent conjectures of Capparelli, Meurman, Primc, and Primc
We find bivariate generating functions for the $k=1$ cases of recently conjectured colored partition identities of Capparelli, Meurman, A. Primc, and M. Primc that are slight variants of the generating functions for the sum sides of the Andrews-Gordon and Andrews-Bressoud identities, relating them to recent work of Warnaar. This $k=1$ cases turn out to be equivalent to identities of Jing, Misra, and Savage. Finally, we provide bijections for these identities involving two-line cylindric partitions, in the spirit of Corteel.

The purpose of the present paper is to give a realization of a cylindric diagram as a subset of root systems of type $A_{κ-1}^{(1)}$ and several characterization of its poset structure. Furthermore, the set of order ideals of a cylindric diagram is described as a weak Bruhat interval of the Weyl group.

The identities which are in the literature often called ``bounded Littlewood identities" are determinantal formulas for the sum of Schur functions indexed by partitions with bounded height. They have interesting combinatorial consequences such as connections between standard Young tableaux of bounded height, lattice walks in a Weyl chamber, and noncrossing matchings. In this paper we prove affine analogs of the bounded Littlewood identities. These are determinantal formulas for sums of cylindric Schur functions. We also study combinatorial aspects of these identities. As a consequence we obtain an unexpected connection between cylindric standard Young tableaux and \( r \)-noncrossing and \( s \)-nonnesting matchings.
Proofs of Modulo 11 and 13 Cylindric Kanade-Russell Conjectures for $A_2$ Rogers-Ramanujan Type Identities
We present proofs of two new families of sum-product identities arising from the cylindric partitions paradigm. Most of the presented expressions, the related sum-product identities, and the ingredients for the proofs were first conjectured by Kanade-Russell in the spirit of Andrews-Schilling-Warnaar identities of the $A_2$ Rogers-Ramanujan type. We follow the footsteps of Kanade-Russell while we alter the computations heavily to accomplish our goals.

For a $(3+1)$-free poset $P$, we define a hybrid of $P$-tableaux and cylindric tableaux called cylindric $P$-tableaux. We introduce $P$-analogs of cylindric Schur functions, defined by a determinantal formula, and prove that they are the weight generating functions of cylindric $P$-tableaux. We deduce that certain sums of the $e$-expansion coefficients of the chromatic symmetric function $X_{inc(P)}$ are positive. This improves on Gasharov's theorem on the Schur positivity of $X_{inc(P)}$ and gives further evidence for the Stanley-Stembridge conjecture.
Combinatorial constructions of generating functions of cylindric partitions with small profiles into unrestricted or distinct parts
In this paper, cylindric partitions into profiles $c=(1,1)$ and $c=(2,0)$ are considered. The generating functions into unrestricted cylindric partitions and cylindric partitions into distinct parts with these profiles are constructed. The constructions are combinatorial and they connect the cylindric partitions with ordinary partitions.

We give manifestly positive Andrews-Gordon type series for the level 3 standard modules of the affine Lie algebra of type $A^{(1)}_2$. We also give corresponding bipartition identities, which have representation theoretic interpretations via the vertex operators. Our proof is based on the Borodin product formula, the Corteel-Welsh recursion for the cylindric partitions, a $q$-version of Sister Celine's technique and a generalization of Andrews' partition ideals by finite automata due to Takigiku and the author.
