The toughness of random graphs
For a connected and non-complete graph $G$ of order $n$, its toughness is defined as \[
τ(G)=\min\bigl\{|S|/c(G-S):S\subseteq V(G),\ c(G-S)>1\bigr\}, \] where $c(G-S)$ denotes the number of components of $G-S$. Let $α(G)$ denote the independence number of $G$. An elementary bound on toughness is $$τ(G)\leq\frac{n-α(G)}{α(G)}.$$
Let $G(n,p)$ be the binomial random graph on vertex set $[n]$. Set $a=α(G(n,p))$. In this paper, we prove that \[
τ(G(n,p))=\frac{n-a}{a}+o(1) \] with high probability. Moreover, we show that there is a sequence $n_m\to\infty$ such that with high probability, \[
τ(G(n_{m},p))
\le\frac{n_{m}-a}a-\frac{1}{a}. \]
On $\ell$-distance-balancedness of cubic Cayley graphs of dihedral groups
A connected graph $Γ$ of diameter ${\rm diam}(Γ) \ge \ell$ is $\ell$-distance-balanced if $|W_{xy}(Γ)|=|W_{yx}(Γ)|$ for every $x,y\in V(Γ)$ with $d_Γ(x,y)=\ell$, where $W_{xy}(Γ)$ is the set of vertices of $Γ$ that are closer to $x$ than to $y$. $Γ$ is said to be highly distance-balanced if it is $\ell$-distance-balanced for every $\ell\in [{\rm diam}(Γ)]$. It is proved that every cubic Cayley graph whose generating set is one of $\{a,a^{n-1},ba^r\}$ and $\{a^k,a^{n-k},ba^t\}$ is highly distance-balanced. This partially solves a problem posed by Miklavič and Šparl.

The general position problem is to find the cardinality of a largest vertex subset S such that no triple of vertices of S lie on a common geodesic. For a connected graph G, the cardinality of S is denoted by gp(G) and called gp-number (or general position number) of G. In the paper, we obtain an upper bound and a lower bound regarding gp-number in all cactus with k cycles and t pendant edges. Furthermore, the gp-number of wheel graph is determined.
