Laplacian state transfer in graphs with involutions
For $q\in\mathbb{R}\backslash\{0\}$, the generalized Laplacian of a graph $X$ is the matrix $\mathscr{L}=Δ+qA$, where $Δ$ is the degree matrix and $A$ is the adjacency matrix of $X$. In this paper, we investigate perfect state transfer (PST) on graphs with possible loops equipped with non-trivial involutions, where we take the generalized Laplacian matrix as the Hamiltonian of the underlying spin network. We establish an equivalence between the existence of PST between certain pair (or plus states) in such a graph and PST between vertices in a subgraph induced by the involution. This allows us to prove that for almost all simple unweighted planar graphs (resp., almost all simple unweighted trees), the assignment of loops of weight one to exactly two vertices in the graph produces PST between pair states relative to $\mathscr{L}$. We also show that a path on $n$ vertices admits PST between end vertices relative to $\mathscr{L}$ if and only if $n =2$, or $(n,q)=(3,\frac{k^2-l^2}{8l^2})$ where $k>l$ are integers with $k \not\equiv l \pmod{2}$. For cycles, we show that the addition of an extra edge does not yield PST between vertices relative to Laplacian and signless Laplacian matrices. Furthermore, we show that the addition of a few suitable edges (including loops) in complete bipartite graphs, cycles, and paths yields PST between pair states.
Pretty good plus state transfer in cycles
We investigate fractional revival in graphs with respect to the adjacency, Laplacian, and signless Laplacian matrices. We observe that, under certain conditions, fractional revival is preserved under graph complementation. Then we establish a connection between fractional revival in a graph and in its double cover, and obtain a complete characterization of pretty good plus state transfer in cycles and their complements. This leads to characterizations of pretty good vertex state transfer in weighted paths with potential.
Quantum walks on finite and bounded infinite graphs
A weighted graph $G$ with countable vertex set is bounded if there is an upper bound on the maximum of the sum of absolute values of all edge weights incident to a vertex in $G$. In this paper, we prove a fundamental result on equitable partitions of bounded weighted graphs with twin subgraphs and use this fact to construct finite and bounded infinite graphs with pair and plus state transfer with the adjacency matrix as a Hamiltonian. We show that for each $k \ge 3$, (i) there are infinitely many connected unweighted graphs with maximum degree $k$ admitting pair state transfer at $τ\in\{\fracπ{\sqrt{2}},\fracπ{2}\}$, and (ii) there are infinitely many signed graphs with exactly one negative edge weight and whose underlying unweighted graphs have maximum degree $k$ admitting plus state transfer at $τ\in\{\fracπ{\sqrt{2}},\fracπ{2}\}$. Parallel results are proven for perfect state transfer between a plus state and a pair state, and for the existence of sedentary pair and plus states. We further prove that almost all connected unweighted finite planar graphs admit pair state transfer at $τ\in\{\fracπ{\sqrt{2}},\fracπ{2}\}$, and almost all connected unweighted finite planar graphs can be assigned a single negative edge weight resulting in plus state transfer, or perfect state transfer between a plus state and a pair state, at $τ\in\{\fracπ{\sqrt{2}},\fracπ{2}\}$. Analogous results are shown to hold for unweighted finite trees. Using blow-up graphs, Cayley graphs and graphs with tails, we construct new infinite families of (finite and infinite) unweighted graphs and signed graphs admitting pair or plus state transfer.
$q$-Laplacian State Transfer on Graphs with Involutions
We study the existence of state transfer with respect to the $q$-Laplacian matrix of a graph equipped with a non-trivial involution. We show that the occurrence of perfect state transfer between certain pair (or plus) states in such a graph is equivalent to the existence of vertex state transfer in a subgraph induced by the involution with potentials. This yields infinite families of trees with potentials and unicyclic graphs of maximum degree three that exhibit perfect pair state transfer. In particular, we investigate vertex and pair state transfer in edge-perturbed complete bipartite graphs, cycles, and paths with potentials only at the end vertices.
Perfect state transfer on graphs with clusters
Using graphs with clusters, we provide a unified approach for constructing graphs with pair state transfer-relative to the adjacency, Laplacian, and signless Laplacian matrix-between the same pair of states at the same time, despite being non-regular. We show that for each $k\geq 5$, there are infinitely many connected graphs with maximum valency $k$ admitting this property. This framework also aids in establishing sufficient conditions for pair state transfer in edge-perturbed graphs, including complete graphs and complete bipartite graphs. Furthermore, we utilize graph products to generate new infinite families of graphs with the above property.
Laplacian quantum walks on blow-up graphs
This paper is a sequel to the work of Bhattacharjya et al.\ (J. Phys. A-Math. 57.33: 335303, https://doi.org/10.1088/1751-8121/ad6653) on quantum state transfer on blow-up graphs, where instead of the adjacency matrix, we take the Laplacian matrix as the time-independent Hamiltonian associated with a blow-up graph. We characterize strong cospectrality, periodicity, perfect state transfer (LPST) and pretty good state transfer (LPGST) on blow-up graphs. We present several constructions of blow-up graphs with LPST and produce new infinite families of regular graphs where each vertex is involved in LPST. We also determine LPST and LPGST in blow-ups of classes of trees. Finally, if $n\equiv 0$ (mod 4), then the blow-up of $n$ copies of a graph $G$ has no LPST, but we show that under certain conditions, the addition of an appropriate matching this blow-up graph results in LPST.
Quantum Pair State Transfer on Isomorphic Branches
The evolution of certain pair state in a quantum network with isomorphic branches, governed by the Heisenberg $XY$ Hamiltonian, depends solely on the local structure, and it remains unaffected even if the global structure is altered. All graphs which enable high-fidelity vertex state transfer can be considered as isomorphic branches of a quantum network to exhibit high-fidelity pair state transfer. The results are used to unveil the existence of pair state transfer in various graphs, including paths, cycles, and others.
A Characterization of State Transfer on Double Subdivided Stars
A subdivided star $SK_{1,l}$ is obtained by identifying exactly one pendant vertex from $l$ copies of the path $P_3.$ This study is on the existence of quantum state transfer on double subdivided star $T_{l,m}$ which is a pair of subdivided stars $SK_{1,l}$ and $SK_{1,m}$ joined by an edge to the respective coalescence vertices. Using the Galois group of the characteristic polynomial of $T_{l,m},$ we analyze the linear independence of its eigenvalues which uncovers no perfect state transfer in double subdivided stars when considering the adjacency matrix as the Hamiltonian of corresponding quantum system. Then we establish a complete characterization on double subdivided stars exhibiting pretty good state transfer.
Quantum walks on blow-up graphs
A blow-up of $n$ copies of a graph $G$ is the graph $\overset{n}\uplus~G$ obtained by replacing every vertex of $G$ by an independent set of size $n$, where the copies of vertices in $G$ are adjacent in the blow-up if and only if the vertices adjacent in $G$. Our goal is to investigate the existence of quantum state transfer on a blow-up graph $\overset{n}\uplus~G$, where the adjacency matrix is taken to be the time-independent Hamiltonian of the quantum system represented by $\overset{n}\uplus~G$. In particular, we establish necessary and sufficient conditions for vertices in a blow-up graph to exhibit strong cospectrality and various types of high probability quantum transport, such as periodicity, perfect state transfer (PST) and pretty good state transfer (PGST). It turns out, if $\overset{n}\uplus~G$ admits PST or PGST, then one must have $n=2.$ Moreover, if $G$ has an invertible adjacency matrix, then we show that every vertex in $\overset{2}\uplus~G$ pairs up with a unique vertex to exhibit strong cospectrality. We then apply our results to determine infinite families of graphs whose blow-ups admit PST and PGST.

We consider quantum state transfer relative to the Laplacian matrix of a graph. Let $N(u)$ denote the set of all neighbors of a vertex $u$ in a graph $G$. A pair of vertices $u$ and $v$ are called twin vertices of $G$ provided $N(u)\setminus\{v \}=N(v)\setminus\{u \}$. We investigate the existence of quantum state transfer between a pair of twin vertices in a graph when the edge between the vertices is perturbed. We find that removal of any set of pairwise non-adjacent edges from a complete graph with a number of vertices divisible by $4$ results Laplacian perfect state transfer (or LPST) at $\fracπ{2}$ between the end vertices of every edge removed. Further, we show that all Laplacian integral graphs with a pair of twin vertices exhibit LPST when the edge between the vertices is perturbed. In contrast, we conclude that LPST can be achieved in every complete graph between the end vertices of any number of suitably perturbed non-adjacent edges. The results are further generalized to obtain a family of edge perturbed circulant graphs exhibiting Laplacian pretty good state transfer (or LPGST) between twin vertices. A subfamily of which is also identified to admit LPST at $\fracπ{2}$.
Quantum State Transfer on a Class of Circulant Graphs
We study the existence of quantum state transfer on non-integral circulant graphs. We find that continuous time quantum walks on quantum networks based on certain circulant graphs with $2^k$ $\left(k\in\mathbb{Z}\right)$ vertices exhibit pretty good state transfer when there is no external dynamic control over the system. We generalize few previously known results on pretty good state transfer on circulant graphs, and this way we re-discover all integral circulant graphs on $2^k$ vertices exhibiting perfect state transfer.

The transition matrix of a graph $G$ corresponding to the adjacency matrix $A$ is defined by $H(t):=\exp{\left(-itA\right)},$ where $t\in\mathbb{R}$. The graph is said to exhibit pretty good state transfer between a pair of vertices $u$ and $v$ if there exists a sequence $\left\lbrace t_k\right\rbrace$ of real numbers such that $\lim\limits_{k\rightarrow\infty} H(t_k) {\bf e}_u=γ{\bf e}_v$, where $γ$ is a complex number of unit modulus. We classify some circulant graphs exhibiting or not exhibiting pretty good state transfer. This generalize several pre-existing results on circulant graphs admitting pretty good state transfer.

Let $G$ be a graph with adjacency matrix $A$. The transition matrix of $G$ relative to $A$ is defined by $H(t):=\exp{\left(-itA\right)},\;t\in\Rl$. The graph $G$ is said to admit pretty good state transfer between a pair of vertices $u$ and $v$ if there exists a sequence of real numbers $\{t_k\}$ and a complex number $γ$ of unit modulus such that $\lim\limits_{k\rightarrow\infty} H(t_k) e_u=γe_v.$ We find that pretty good state transfer occurs in a cycle on $n$ vertices if and only if $n$ is a power of two and it occurs between every pair of antipodal vertices. In addition, we look for pretty good state transfer in more general circulant graphs. We prove that union (edge disjoint) of an integral circulant graph with a cycle, each on $2^k$ $(k\geq 3)$ vertices, admits pretty good state transfer. The complement of such union also admits pretty good state transfer. This enables us to find some non-circulant graphs admitting pretty good state transfer. Among the complement of cycles we also find a class of graphs not exhibiting pretty good state transfer.

Let $G$ be a graph with adjacency matrix $A$. The transition matrix of $G$ relative to $A$ is defined by $H_{A}(t):=\exp{(-itA)},\;t\in\Rl$. We say that the graph $G$ admits perfect state transfer between the verteices $u$ and $v$ at $τ\in\Rl$ if the $uv$-th entry of $H_{A}(τ)$ has unit modulus. Perfect state transfer is a rare phenomena so we consider an approximation called pretty good state transfer. We find that NEPS (Non-complete Extended P-Sum) of the path on three vertices with basis containing tuples with hamming weights of both parities do not exhibit perfect state transfer. But these NEPS admit pretty good state transfer with an additional condition. Further we investigate pretty good state transfer on Cartesian product of graphs and we find that a graph can have PGST from a vertex $u$ to two different vertices $v$ and $w$.

Let $G$ be a graph with adjacency matrix $A$. The transition matrix of $G$ is denoted by $H(t)$ and it is defined by $H(t):=\exp{\left(itA\right)},\;t\in\mathbb{R}.$ The graph $G$ has perfect state transfer (PST) from a vertex $u$ to another vertex $v$ if there exist $τ\left(\neq0\right)\in\mathbb{R}$ such that the $uv$-th entry of $H(τ)$ has unit modulus. In case when $u=v$, we say that $G$ is periodic at the vertex $u$ at time $τ$. The graph $G$ is said to be periodic if it is periodic at all vertices at the same time. A gcd-graph is a Cayley graph over a finite abelian group defined by greatest common divisors. We establish a sufficient condition for a gcd-graph to have periodicity and PST at $\fracπ{2}$. Using this we deduce that there exists gcd-graph having PST over an abelian group of order divisible by $4$. Also we find a necessary and sufficient condition for a class of gcd-graphs to be periodic at $π$. Using this we characterize a class of gcd-graphs not exhibiting PST at $\fracπ{2^{k}}$ for all positive integers $k$.

Perfect state transfer is significant in quantum communication networks. There are very few graphs having this property. So, it is useful to find some new graphs having perfect state transfer. A good way to construct new graphs is by forming NEPS. It is known that the graph $P_{3}$ exhibits perfect state transfer and so we investigate some NEPS of the path $P_{3}$. A sufficient condition is found for a NEPS of $P_{3}$ to have perfect state transfer. Using these NEPS, some other graphs are constructed having perfect state transfer. We also prove that for every $n\in \Nl\setminus \left\lbrace 1\right\rbrace$ and any odd positive integer $k< n$, there is a basis $Ω$ such that $NEPS(P_{3},\ldots, P_{3};Ω)$ is connected and exhibits perfect state transfer.
