New Upper Bounds on the Size of Permutation Codes under Kendall $τ$-Metric

We first give two methods based on the representation theory of symmetric groups to study the largest size $P(n,d)$ of permutation codes of length $n$ i.e. subsets of the set $S_n$ all permutations on $\{1,\dots,n\}$ with the minimum distance (at least) $d$ under the Kendall $τ$-metric. The first method is an integer programming problem obtained from the transitive actions of $S_n$. The second method can be applied to refute the existence of perfect codes in $S_n$.\\ Here we reduce the known upper bound $(n-1)!-1$ for $P(n,3)$ to $(n-1)!-\lceil\frac{n}{3}\rceil+2\leq (n-1)!-2$, whenever $n\geq 11$ is any prime number. If $n=6$, $7$, $11$, $13$, $14$, $15$, $17$, the known upper bound for $P(n,3)$ is decreased by $3,3,9,11,1,1,4$, respectively.
The generalized X-join of Cayley graphs
As a main result of this paper we give conditions under which the generalized $X$-join of Cayley graphs is a Cayley graph. In particular, we show that $X$-join of isomorphic Cayley graphs is a Cayley grpah. To do this, new properties for a generalized wreath product of permutation groups are given in the case where the base group acts regularly. These are used to give conditions for the generalized wreath product to contain a regular subgroup, which are then applied to generalized $X$-joins of Cayley graphs. Along the way, it is shown that the generalized $X$-join of isomorphic Cayley graphs will always be a vertex transitive graph.
On the wedge product of table algebras and applications to association schemes
In this paper we will first present a generalization of the wedge product of association schemes to table algebras and give a necessary and sufficient condition for a table algebra to be the wedge product of two table algebras. Then we show that if the duals of two commutative table algebras are table algebras, then the dual of their wedge product is a table algebra, and is also isomorphic to the wedge product of the duals of those table algebras in the reverse order. Some applications to association schemes are also given.

An irreducible character $χ$ of an association scheme is called nonlinear if the multiplicity of $χ$ is greater than $1$. The main result of this paper gives a characterization of commutative association schemes with at most two nonlinear irreducible characters. This yields a characterization of finite groups with at most two nonlinear irreducible characters. A class of noncommutative association schemes with at most two nonlinear irreducible character is also given.
