Combinatorial identities from an inhomogeneous Ising chain
We study a family of inhomogeneous Ising chain models along with an equivalent family of nearest neighbour particle systems. By the correspondence between the two families we prove identities of combinatorial significance relating to certain integer and Frobenius partitions. In particular, for certain parameter values we see that one of our identities relates to generating functions for overpartitions. Using the identities we give a surprising product form of the partition function for an Ising chain with homogeneous interaction and an inhomogeneous external field. We also use the connection between the Ising chain and particle system to find interesting long-range reversible dynamics for the particle system that do not have a product form stationary measure.
Second Class Particle Behaviour in Blocking ASEP
We consider any fixed $d\in\mathbb{Z}_{>0}$ number of second class particles in the asymmetric simple exclusion process (ASEP), constructed via a basic coupling of two ASEPs. We give the joint distribution of the positions of the second class particles and also the probability of there being a second class particle at a given site, under the natural blocking measure for ASEP. In order to find these distributions we use results about the number of particles in half-infinite and finite site ranges of ASEP. Our investigations also lead to probabilistic proofs of well-known combinatorial identities; the Durfee rectangles identity, Euler's identity, and the $q$-Binomial Theorem.

We consider the family of nearest neighbour interacting particle systems on $\mathbb{Z}$ allowing $0$, $1$ or $2$ particles at a site. We parametrize a wide subfamily of processes exhibiting product blocking measure and show how this family can be "stood up" in the sense of Balázs and Bowen (2018). By comparing measures we prove new three variable Jacobi style identities, related to counting certain generalised Frobenius partitions with a $2$-repetition condition. By specialising to specific processes we produce two variable identities that are shown to relate to Jacobi triple product and various other identities of combinatorial significance. The family of $k$-exclusion processes for arbitrary $k$ are also considered and are shown to give similar Jacobi style identities relating to counting generalised Frobenius partitions with a $k$-repetition condition.
