On a general identity and a resulting class of umbral operators
We prove a new universal identity for umbral operators. This motivates the definition of a subclass obeying a simplified identity, which we then fully characterize. The results are illustrated with common examples of the theory of umbral calculus.
On formulas and fractional exponents for umbral operators
This study presents a new formula for umbral operators which provides three key insights. First, it clarifies a connection between umbral calculus and iteration theory. Second, it paves the way for a definition of fractional exponents of umbral operators. And lastly, its proof synthesizes a multitude of existing operational calculus results that demonstrates a new level of effectiveness in the field. We demonstrate its application through a new and natural extension of the Laguerre polynomials.
Explicit Expressions for Iterates of Power Series
In this paper, we present several formulas for both the discrete and fractional iterates of an invertible power series $f$, using a new unifying approach based on umbral calculus. Known formulas are extended, and their proofs simplified, while new expressions are introduced. In particular, by employing $q$-calculus identities, we eliminate the requirement for $f'(0)$ to equal $1$ and the resulting general expressions for the iterative logarithm are obtained as well.
Operational Umbral Calculus
In this paper, we investigate the power of nearly purely operational techniques in the study of umbral calculus. We present a concise reconstruction of the theory based on a systematic use of linear operators, with particular attention to umbral operators. We also give an in-depth study of the generating functions associated to umbral calculus, and show how these lead to short proofs of several advanced results, including the Lagrange-Bürmann inversion theorem. Finally, we discuss pseudoinverses for delta operators and illustrate our methods with a variety of examples.

In this paper, we derive formal general formulas for noncommutative exponentiation and the exponential function, while also revisiting an unrecognized, and yet powerful theorem. These tools are subsequently applied to derive counterparts for the exponential identity $e^{A+B} = e^A e^B$ and the binomial theorem $(A+B)^n = \sum \binom{n}{k} A^k B^{n-k}$ when the commutator $[B, A]$ is either an arbitrary quadratic polynomial or a monomial in $A$ or $B$. Analogous formulas are found when the commutator is bivariate. Furthermore, we introduce a novel operator bridging between the normal and antinormal ordered forms.
