On the levels of rational regular orthogonal matrices for generalized cospectral graphs
For an $n$-vertex graph $G$ with adjacency matrix $A$, the walk matrix $W(G)$ of $G$ is the matrix $[e,Ae,\ldots,A^{n-1}e]$, where $e$ is the all-ones vector. Suppose that $W(G)$ is nonsingular and $p$ is an odd prime such that $W(G)$ has rank $n-1$ over the finite field $\mathbb{Z}/p\mathbb{Z}$. Let $H$ be a graph that is generalized cospectral with $G$, and $Q$ be the corresponding rational regular orthogonal matrix satisfying $Q^\mathsf{T} A(G) Q=A(H)$. We prove that \begin{equation*} v_p(\ell(Q))\le \frac{1}{2}v_p (\det W(G)) \end{equation*} where $\ell(Q)$ is the minimum positive integer $k$ such that $kQ$ is an integral matrix, and $v_p(m)$ is the maximum nonnegative integer $s$ such that $p^s$ divides $m$. This significantly improves upon a recent result of Qiu et al. [Discrete Math. 346 (2023) 113177] stating that $v_p(\ell(Q))\le v_p (\det W(G))-1.$

The Hamilton-Waterloo Problem for $C_3$-factors and $C_n$-factors
Published in Journal of Combinatorial Design 25(2017),385-418 • View PublicationBIB
The Hamilton-Waterloo problem asks for a 2-factorization of $K_v$ (for $v$ odd) or $K_v$ minus a $1$-factor (for $v$ even) into $C_m$-factors and $C_n$-factors. We completely solve the Hamilton-Waterloo problem in the case of $C_3$-factors and $C_n$-factors for $n=4,5,7$.

Semisymmetric graphs of order $2p^3$
A simple undirected graph is said to be {\em semisymmetric} if it is regular and edge-transitive but not vertex-transitive. Every semisymmetric graph is a bipartite graph with two parts of equal size. It was proved in [{\em J. Combin. Theory Ser. B} {\bf 3}(1967), 215-232] that there exist no semisymmetric graphs of order $2p$ and $2p^2$, where $p$ is a prime. The classification of semisymmetric graphs of order $2pq$ was given in [{\em Comm. in Algebra} {\bf 28}(2000), 2685-2715], for any distinct primes $p$ and $q$. Our long term goal is to determine all the semisymmetric graphs of order $2p^3$, for any prime $p$. All these graphs $\G$ are divided into two subclasses: (I) $\Aut(\G)$ acts unfaithfully on at least one bipart; and (II) $\Aut(\G)$ acts faithfully on both biparts. This paper gives a group theoretical characterization for Subclass (I) and based on this characterization, we shall give a complete classification for this subclass in our further research.
