A generalization of Ramanujan's sum over finite groups
Let $G$ be a finite group, and let $x \in G$. Define $[x^G] := \{ y \in G : \langle x^G \rangle = \langle y^G \rangle \}$, where $\langle x^G \rangle$ denotes the normal subgroup of $G$ generated by the conjugacy class of $x$. In this paper, we determine an explicit formula for the eigenvalues of the normal Cayley graph $\text{Cay}(G, [x^G])$. These eigenvalues can be viewed as a generalization of classical Ramanujan's sum in the setting of finite groups. Surprisingly, the formula we derive for the eigenvalues of $\text{Cay}(G, [x^G])$ extends the known formula of classical Ramanujan's sum to the context of finite groups. This generalization not only enrich the theory of Ramanujan's sum but also provide new tools in spectral graph theory, representation theory, and algebraic number theory.

A formula for eigenvalues of integral Cayley graphs over abelian groups
Let $Z$ be an abelian group, $ x \in Z$, and $[x] = \{ y : \langle x \rangle = \langle y \rangle \}$. A graph is called integral if all its eigenvalues are integers. It is known that a Cayley graph is integral if and only if its connection set can be express as union of the sets $[x] $. In this paper, we determine an algebraic formula for eigenvalues of the integral Cayley graph when the connection set is $ [x]$. This formula involves an analogue of M$\ddot{\text{o}}$bius function.

HS-integral and Eisenstein integral normal mixed Cayley graphs

A mixed graph is said to be HS-\emph{integral} if the eigenvalues of its Hermitian-adjacency matrix of the second kind are integers. A mixed graph is called \emph{Eisenstein integral} if the eigenvalues of its (0, 1)-adjacency matrix are Eisenstein integers. We characterize the set $S$ for which the normal mixed Cayley graph $\text{Cay}(Γ, S)$ is HS-integral for any finite group $Γ$. We further show that a normal mixed Cayley graph is HS-integral if and only if it is Eisenstein integral. This paper generalizes the results of [M. Kadyan, B. Bhattacharjya. HS-integral and Eisenstein integral mixed Cayley graphs over abelian groups. Linear Algebra Appl. 645:68-90, 2022].

Further, the eigenvalues and the HS-eigenvalues of some oriented circulant graphs are expressed in terms of generalized M$\ddot{\text{o}}$bius function.

H-integral and Gaussian integral normal mixed Cayley graphs

If all the eigenvalues of the Hermitian-adjacency matrix of a mixed graph are integers, then the mixed graph is called \emph{H-integral}. If all the eigenvalues of the (0,1)-adjacency matrix of a mixed graph are \emph{Gaussian integers}, then the mixed graph is called \emph{Gaussian integral}. For any finite group $Γ$, we characterize the set $S$ for which the normal mixed Cayley graph $\text{Cay}(Γ, S)$ is H-integral. We further prove that a normal mixed Cayley graph is H-integral if and only if it is Gaussian integral.

Integral mixed cayley graph over abelian group

A mixed graph is said to be integral if all the eigenvalues of its Hermitian adjacency matrix are integer. Let $Γ$ be an abelian group. The \textit{mixed Cayley graph} $Cay(Γ,S)$ is a mixed graph on the vertex set $Γ$ and edge set $\{ (a,b): b-a\in S \}$, where $0\not\in S$. We characterize integral mixed Cayley graph $Cay(Γ,S)$ over abelian group in terms of its symbol set $S$.

Integral mixed circulant graph

A mixed graph is said to be \textit{integral} if all the eigenvalues of its Hermitian adjacency matrix are integer. The \textit{mixed circulant graph} $Circ(\mathbb{Z}_n,\mathcal{C})$ is a mixed graph on the vertex set $\mathbb{Z}_n$ and edge set $\{ (a,b): b-a\in \mathcal{C} \}$, where $0\not\in \mathcal{C}$. If $\mathcal{C}$ is closed under inverse, then $Circ(\mathbb{Z}_n,\mathcal{C})$ is called a \textit{circulant graph}. We express the eigenvalues of $Circ(\mathbb{Z}_n,\mathcal{C})$ in terms of primitive $n$-th roots of unity, and find a sufficient condition for integrality of the eigenvalues of $Circ(\mathbb{Z}_n,\mathcal{C})$. For $n\equiv 0 \Mod 4$, we factorize the cyclotomic polynomial into two irreducible factors over $\mathbb{Q}(i)$. Using this factorization, we characterize integral mixed circulant graphs in terms of its symbol set. We also express the integer eigenvalues of an integral oriented circulant graph in terms of a Ramanujan type sum, and discuss some of their properties.

Switching equivalence of Hermitian adjacency matrices of mixed graphs
Let $0 \in Γ$ and $Γ\setminus \{0\}$ be a subgroup of the complex numbers of unit modulus. Define $\mathcal{H}_{n}(Γ)$ to be the set of all $n\times n$ Hermitian matrices with entries in $Γ$, whose diagonal entries are zero. The matrices $A,B\in \mathcal{H}_{n}(Γ)$ are said to be switching equivalent if there is a diagonal matrix $D$, in which the diagonal entries belong to $Γ\setminus \{0\}$, such that $D^{-1} A D=B$. We find a characterization, in terms of fundamental cycles of graphs, of switching equivalence of matrices in $\mathcal{H}_{n}(Γ)$. We give sufficient conditions to characterize the cospectral matrices in $\mathcal{H}_{n}(Γ)$. We find bounds on the number of switching equivalence classes of all mixed graphs with the same underlying graph. We also provide the size of all switching equivalence classes of mixed cycles, and give a formula that calculates the size of a switching equivalence class of a mixed plane graph. We also discuss an action of the automorphism group of a graph on switching equivalence classes of matrices in $\mathcal{H}_{n}(Γ)$.
