Let $\mathsf{r}_k$ be the unique positive root of $x^k - (x+1)^{k-1} = 0$. We prove the best known bounds on the number $n_{g,d}$ of $d$-dimensional generalized numerical semigroups, in particular that
\[n_{g,d} > C_d^{g^{(d-1)/d}} \mathsf{r}_{2^d}^g\] for some constant $C_d > 0$, which can be made explicit. To do this, we extend the notion of multiplicity and depth to generalized numerical semigroups and show our lower bound is sharp for semigroups of depth 2. We also show other bounds on special classes of semigroups by introducing partition labelings, which extend the notion of Kunz words to the general setting.

In 1990, Backelin showed that the number of numerical semigroups with Frobenius number $f$ approaches $C_i \cdot 2^{f/2}$ for constants $C_0$ and $C_1$ depending on the parity of $f$. In this paper, we generalize this result to semigroups of arbitrary depth by showing there are $\lfloor{(q+1)^2/4}\rfloor^{f/(2q-2)+o(f)}$ semigroups with Frobenius number $f$ and depth $q$. More generally, for fixed $q \geq 3$, we show that, given $(q-1)m < f < qm$, the number of numerical semigroups with Frobenius number $f$ and multiplicity $m$ is\[\left(\left\lfloor \frac{(q+2)^2}{4} \right\rfloor^{α/2} \left \lfloor \frac{(q+1)^2}{4} \right\rfloor^{(1-α)/2}\right)^{m + o(m)}\] where $α= f/m - (q-1)$. Among other things, these results imply Backelin's result, strengthen bounds on $C_i$, characterize the limiting distribution of multiplicity and genus with respect to Frobenius number, and resolve a recent conjecture of Singhal on the number of semigroups with fixed Frobenius number and maximal embedding dimension.

Consider equipping an alphabet $\mathcal{A}$ with a group action that partitions the set of words into equivalence classes which we call patterns. We answer standard questions for the Penney's game on patterns and show non-transitivity for the game on patterns as the length of the pattern tends to infinity. We also analyze bounds on the pattern-based Conway leading number and expected wait time, and further explore the game under the cyclic and symmetric group actions.
