Globally Simple Heffter Arrays $H(n;k)$ with $k \equiv 1 \pmod{4}$
Heffter arrays are combinatorial structures used to construct orthogonal cyclic cycle decompositions and biembeddings of complete graphs onto surfaces. A Heffter array $H(m,n;h,k)$ is an $m \times n$ partially filled array with distinct nonzero entries from $\mathbb{Z}_{2nk+1}$ such that each row contains $h$ filled cells, each column contains $k$ filled cells, the elements in the filled cells form a half-set of $\mathbb{Z}_{2nk+1}$, and every row and column sums to zero modulo $2nk+1$. If these row and column sums equal zero over the integers, the structure is called an integer Heffter array. Furthermore, such an array is called globally simple if the partial sums of the entries in each row and column, evaluated in their natural order, are distinct modulo $2nk+1$. When $m=n$ and $h=k$, the array is square and denoted by $H(n;k)$. While the existence of globally simple square Heffter arrays has been established for several congruence classes, the cases where $k \equiv 1,2 \pmod{4}$ for $k > 10$ have remained an open problem [1]. In this work, we address this gap in the literature by explicitly constructing globally simple integer Heffter arrays $H(n;k)$ for the previously open cases where $k \equiv 1 \pmod{4}$ and $n \equiv 0,3 \pmod{4}$. Consequently, these constructions guarantee the existence of orthogonal cyclic $k$-cycle decompositions of the complete graph $K_{2nk+1}$ for these parameters. [1] J.H. Dinitz and A. Pasotti. Orthogonal cycle systems with cycle length less than 10
An $H$-decomposition of $G$ is a partition of the edge-set of $G$ into subsets, where each subset induces a copy of the graph $H$. A $k$-orthogonal $H$-decomposition of a graph $G$ is a set of $k$ $H$-decompositions of $G$, such that any two copies of $H$ in distinct $H$-decompositions intersect in at most one edge. When $G=K_v$ we call the $H$-decomposition an $H$-system of order $v$. In this paper we consider the case $H$ is an $l$-cycle and construct a pair of orthogonal $l$-cycle systems for all admissible orders when $l=5,6,7, 8\ or\ 9$, except $(l,v)=(7,7)$ and $(l,v)=(9,9)$.
Almost 2-perfect 8-cycle systems
For an $m$-cycle $C$, an inside $m$-cycle of $C$ is a cycle on the same vertex set, that is edge-disjoint from $C$. In an $m$-cycle system, $(\mathcal{X}, \mathcal{C})$, if inside $m$-cycles can be chosen -one for each cycle- to form another $m$-cycle system, then $(\mathcal{X}, \mathcal{C})$ is called an almost $2$-perfect $m$-cycle system. Almost $2$-perfect cycle systems can be considered as generalisations of $2$-perfect cycle systems. Cycle packings are generalisations of cycle systems that allow to have leaves after decomposition. In this paper, we prove that an almost $2$-perfect maximum packing of $K_n$ with $8$-cycles of order $n$ exists for each $n\geq 8$. We also construct a maximum $8$-cycle packing of order $n$ which is not almost $2$-perfect for each $n \geq 10$.
Resolvable 3-star designs
Let Kv be the complete graph of order v and F be a set of 1-factors of Kv. In this article we study the existence of a resolvable decomposition of Kv - F into 3-stars when F has the minimum number of 1-factors. We completely solve the case in which F has the minimum number of 1- factors, with the possible exception of v in {40, 44, 52, 76, 92, 100, 280, 284, 328, 332, 428, 472, 476, 572}.

Maximum uniformly resolvable decompositions of $K_v$ and $K_v - I$ into 3-stars and 3-cycles
Let $K_v$ denote the complete graph of order $v$ and $K_v - I$ denote $K_v$ minus a 1-factor. In this article we investigate uniformly resolvable decompositions of $K_v$ and $K_v-I$ into $r$ classes containing only copies of $3$-stars and $s$ classes containing only copies of $3$-cycles. We completely determine the spectrum in the case where the number of resolution classes of 3-stars is maximum.
