A degree sum condition for the existence of a quasi 5-contractible edge in a quasi 5-connected graph
An edge of a quasi $k$-connected graph is said to be quasi $k$-contractible if the contraction of the edge results in a quasi $k$-connected graph. We show that every 5-connected graph contains a quasi 5-contractible edge. Furthermore, we prove that a quasi 5-connected graph possesses a quasi 5-contractible edge, if the degree sum of any two vertices with distance at most two is at least 9. This result strengthens a theorem proved by Kriesell when $k=4$ (M. Kriesell, A degree sum condition for the existence of a contractible edge in a $k$-connected graph, J. Combin. Theory Ser. B 82(2001)81-101).

A forbidden pair for quasi 5-contractible edges
An edge of a quasi $k$-connected graph is said to be quasi $k$-contractible if the contraction of the edge results in a quasi $k$-connected graph. If every quasi $k$-connected graph without a quasi $k$-contractible edge has either $H_{1}$ or $H_{2}$ as a subgraph, then an unordered pair of graphs $\{H_{1}, H_{2}\}$ is said to be a forbidden pair for quasi $k$-contractible edges. We prove that $\{K_{4}^{-}, \overline{P_{5}}\}$ is a forbidden pair for quasi 5-contractible edges, where $K_{4}^{-}$ is the graph obtained from $K_{4}$ by removing just one edge and $\overline{P_{5}}$ is the complement of a path on five vertices.

On regular 2-path Hamiltonian graphs
Kronk introduced the $l$-path hamiltonianicity of graphs in 1969. A graph is $l$-path Hamiltonian if every path of length not exceeding $l$ is contained in a Hamiltonian cycle. We have shown that if $P=uvz$ is a 2-path of a 2-connected, $k$-regular graph on at most $2k$ vertices and $G - V(P)$ is connected, then there must exist a Hamiltonian cycle in $G$ that contains the 2-path $P$. In this paper, we characterize a class of graphs that illustrate the sharpness of the bound $2k$. Additionally, we show that by excluding the class of graphs, both 2-connected, $k$-regular graphs on at most $2k + 1$ vertices and 3-connected, $k$-regular graphs on at most $3k-6$ vertices satisfy that there is a Hamiltonian cycle containing the 2-path $P$ if $G\setminus V(P)$ is connected.

Planar graphs without cycles of length from 4 to 7 are near-bipartite
A graph is near-bipartite if its vertex set can be partitioned into an independent set and a set which induces a forest. In this paper, planar graphs without cycles of length from 4 to 7 are shown to be near-bipartite.

Matching forcing polynomial of generalized Petersen graph GP(n, 2)
Harary et al. and Klein and Randic proposed the forcing number of a perfect matching in mathematics and chemistry, respectively. In detail, the forcing number of a perfect matching M of a graph G is the smallest cardinality of subsets of M that are contained in no other perfect matchings of G. The author and cooperators defined the forcing polynomial of G as the count polynomial for perfect matchings with the same forcing number of G, from which the average forcing number, forcing spectrum, and the maximum and minimum forcing numbers of G can be obtained. Up to now, a few papers have been considered on matching forcing problem of non-plane non-bipartite graphs. In this paper, we investigate the forcing polynomials of generalized Petersen graphs GP(n, 2) for n = 5, 6, . . . , 15, which is a typical class of non-plane non-bipartite graph.

On the forcing spectrum of generalized Petersen graphs P(n,2)
The forcing number of a perfect matching $M$ of a graph $G$ is the smallest cardinality of subsets of $M$ that are contained in no other perfect matchings of $G$. The forcing spectrum of $G$ is the collection of forcing numbers of all perfect matchings of $G$. In this paper, we classify the perfect matchings of a generalized Petersen graph $P(n,2)$ in two types, and show that the forcing spectrum is the union of two integer intervals. For $n\ge 34$, it is $\left[\lceil \frac { n }{ 12 } \rceil+1,\lceil \frac { n+3 }{ 7 } \rceil +δ(n)\right]\cup \left[\lceil \frac { n+2 }{ 6 } \rceil,\lceil \frac { n }{ 4 } \rceil\right]$, where $δ(n)=1$ if $n\equiv 3$ (mod 7), and $δ(n)=0$ otherwise.
