On a complete characterization of path-free complexes associated with complete multipartite graphs
Let $G$ be a graph and let $\PF_t(G)$ denote the simplicial complex whose faces are vertex subsets whose induced subgraphs contain no path on $t$ vertices. These complexes encode a forbidden-subgraph condition as a family of allowed vertex subsets.
In this paper, we study $t$-path-free complexes of complete multipartite graphs. Let \[ G=K_{n_1,\dots,n_m}, \qquad n_1\le\cdots\le n_m. \] We first obtain an explicit structural decomposition of $\PF_t(G)$ as a union of join complexes, together with an additional lower-dimensional size-truncation term. Using this decomposition, we show that for $t\le 2n_{m-1}-2$ the complex $\PF_t(G)$ is not sequentially Cohen-Macaulay, while for $t\ge 2 n_{m-1}-1$ it is vertex decomposable.
Consequently, we obtain a complete characterization for complete multipartite graphs: $\PF_t(G)$ is vertex decomposable if and only if $t\ge 2n_{m-1}-1$. Equivalently, this is also exactly the range in which $\PF_t(G)$ is shellable and sequentially Cohen-Macaulay. We further analyze the topology via a Mayer-Vietoris spectral sequence: for complete bipartite graphs, we determine the full homotopy type as an explicit wedge of spheres in all cases.
Left and right Bousfield localization on lattices
The key information of a model category structure on a poset is encoded in a transfer system, which is a combinatorial gadget, originally introduced to investigate homotopy coherence structures in equivariant homotopy theory. We describe how a transfer system associated with in a model structure on a lattice is affected by left and right Bousfield localization and provide a minimal generating system of morphisms which are responsible for the change in model structure. This leads to new concrete insights into the behavior of model categories on posets in general.
Cofibration category structures on the category of graphs
In this article, we show that there is no cofibration category structure on the category of finite graphs with $\times$-homotopy equivalences as the class of weak equivalences. Further, we show that it is not possible to enlarge the class of weak equivalences to get cofibration category structure on the category of finite graphs without including morphisms where domain and codomain have non-isomorphic stiff subgraphs.

Given a simple undirected graph $G$ there is a simplicial complex $\mathrm{Ind}(G)$, called the independence complex, whose faces correspond to the independent sets of $G$. This is a well studied concept because it provides a fertile ground for interactions between commutative algebra, graph theory and algebraic topology. One of the line of research pursued by many authors is to determine the graph classes for which the associated independence complex is Cohen-Macaulay. For example, it is known that when $G$ is a chordal graph the complex $\mathrm{Ind}(G)$ is in fact vertex decomposable, the strongest condition in the Cohen-Macaulay ladder.
In this article we consider a generalization of independence complex. Given $r\geq 1$, a subset of the vertex set is called $r$-independent if the connected components of the induced subgraph have cardinality at most $r$. The collection of all $r$-independent subsets of $G$ form a simplicial complex called the $r$-independence complex and is denoted by $\mathrm{Ind}_r(G)$. It is known that when $G$ is a chordal graph the complex $\mathrm{Ind}_r(G)$ has the homotopy type of a wedge of spheres. Hence it is natural to ask which of these complexes are shellable or even vertex decomposable. We prove, using Woodroofe's chordal hypergraph notion, that these complexes are always shellable when the underlying chordal graph is a tree. Further, using the notion of vertex splittable ideals we show that for caterpillar graphs the associated $r$-independence complex is vertex decomposable for all values of $r$. We also construct chordal graphs on $2r+2$ vertices such that their $r$-independence complexes are not sequentially Cohen-Macaulay for any $r \ge 2$.

The matching complex of a graph $G$ is a simplicial complex whose simplices are matchings in $G$. In the last few years the matching complexes of grid graphs have gained much attention among the topological combinatorists. In 2017, Braun and Hough obtained homological results related to the matching complexes of $2 \times n$ grid graphs. Further in 2019, Matsushita showed that the matching complexes of $2 \times n$ grid graphs are homotopy equivalent to a wedge of spheres. In this article we prove that the matching complexes of $3\times n$ grid graphs are homotopy equivalent to a wedge of spheres. We also give the comprehensive list of the dimensions of spheres appearing in the wedge.

The clique complex of a graph G is a simplicial complex whose simplices are all the cliques of G, and the line graph L(G) of G is a graph whose vertices are the edges of G and the edges of L(G) are incident edges of G. In this article, we determine the homotopy type of the clique complexes of line graphs for several classes of graphs including triangle-free graphs, chordal graphs, complete multipartite graphs, wheel-free graphs, and 4-regular circulant graphs. We also give a closed form formula for the homotopy type of these complexes in several cases.

We show that the independence complexes of generalised Mycielskian of complete graphs are homotopy equivalent to a wedge sum of spheres, and determine the number of copies and the dimensions of these spheres. We also prove that the independence complexes of categorical product of complete graphs are wedge sum of circles, upto homotopy. Further, we show that if we perturb a graph $G$ in a certain way, then the independence complex of this new graph is homotopy equivalent to the suspension of the independence complex of $G$.

In this article, we study model structures on the category of finite graphs with $\times$-homotopy equivalences as the weak equivalences. We show that there does not exist an analogue of Strøm-Hurewicz model structure on this category of graphs. More interestingly, we show that this category of graphs with $\times$-homotopy equivalences does not have a model structure whenever the class of cofibrations is a subclass of graph inclusions.
Lovász' original lower bound: Getting tighter bounds and Reducing computational complexity
In this article, we give conditions on a graph under which the Lovász' original bound of the graph can be improved by increasing the topological connectivity of its neighbourhood complex. We also work out conditions under which computing the topological connectivity of hom complex of a pair of graphs can be simplified. In particular, hom complex as a covariant functor acting on a double mapping cylinder of graphs is a homotopy pushout of hom complex functor applied to its subgraphs. We give applications of this result where the computation of hom complexes is simplified. Finally, we explain why double mapping cylinder of graphs does not give a satisfactory definition of homotopy pushout in the category of graphs.
