Spectral radius for the existence of $H_b$-factors in binding graphs
The binding number, denoted by $\mbox{bind}(G)$, of a graph $G$ is defined as the minimum value of $\frac{|N_G(X)|}{|X|}$ taken over any non-empty subset $X$ of $V(G)$ with $N_G(X)\neq V(G)$. A graph $G$ is said to be $r$-binding if $\mbox{bind}(G)\geq r$. The adjacency matrix of a graph $G$ is denoted by $A(G)$. The largest eigenvalue of $A(G)$ is called the spectral radius of $G$. An $H_b$-factor of a graph $G$ is defined as a spanning subgraph $F$ of $G$ such that for any $v\in V(G)$, $d_F(v)$ belongs to the set $\{1,3,5,\ldots,b-1,b\}$, where $b$ is an even integer with $b\geq2$. This note establishes a sufficient condition to guarantee that a connected $\frac{1}{b-1}$-binding graph $G$ of even order contains an $H_b$-factor based on the spectral radius.

Distance spectral radius for a graph to be k-critical with respect to [1,b]-odd factor
Let $G$ be a connected graph, and let $b$ and $k$ be two positive integers with $b\equiv1$ (mod 2). A $[1,b]$-odd factor of $G$ is a spanning subgraph $F$ of $G$ with $d_F(v)\equiv1$ (mod 2) and $1\leq d_F(v)\leq b$ for every $v\in V(G)$. A graph $G$ is called $k$-critical with respect to $[1,b]$-odd factor if $G-X$ contains a $[1,b]$-odd factor for every $X\subseteq V(G)$ with $|X|=k$. Let $\mathcal{D}(G)$ denote the distance matrix of $G$. The largest eigenvalue of $\mathcal{D}(G)$, denoted by $μ(G)$, is called the distance spectral radius of $G$. In this paper, we prove an upper bound for $μ(G)$ in a connected graph $G$ which guarantees $G$ to be $k$-critical with respect to $[1,b]$-odd factor.

Toughness and spectral radius in graphs
Let $t$ be a positive integer, and let $G$ be a connected graph of order $n$ with $n\geq t+2$. A graph $G$ is said to be $\frac{1}{t}$-tough if $|S|\geq\frac{1}{t}c(G-S)$ for every subset $S$ of $V(G)$ with $c(G-S)\geq2$, where $c(G-S)$ is the number of connected components in $G-S$. The adjacency matrix of $G$ is denoted by $A(G)$. Let $λ_1(G)\geqλ_2(G)\geq\dots\geqλ_n(G)$ be the eigenvalues of $A(G)$. In particular, the eigenvalue $λ_1(G)$ is called the spectral radius of $G$. In this paper, we prove that $G$ is a $\frac{1}{t}$-tough graph unless $G=K_1\vee(K_{n-t-1}\cup tK_1)$ if $λ_1(G)\geqη(t,n)$, where $η(t,n)$ is the largest root of $x^{3}-(n-t-2)x^{2}-(n-1)x+t(n-t-2)=0$.

Spanning trees and signless Laplacian spectral radius in graphs
Let $G$ be a connected graph and let $k$ be a positive integer. Let $T$ be a spanning tree of $G$. The leaf degree of a vertex $v\in V(T)$ is defined as the number of leaves adjacent to $v$ in $T$. The leaf degree of $T$ is the maximum leaf degree among all the vertices of $T$. Let $A(G)$ be the adjacency matrix of $G$ and $D(G)$ be the diagonal degree matrix of $G$. Let $Q(G)=D(G)+A(G)$ be the signless Laplacian matrix of $G$. The largest eigenvalue of $Q(G)$, denoted by $q(G)$, is called the signless Laplacian spectral radius of $G$. In this paper, we investigate the connection between the spanning tree and the signless Laplacian spectral radius of $G$, and put forward a sufficient condition based upon the signless Laplacian spectral radius to guarantee that a graph $G$ contains a spanning tree with leaf degree at most $k$. Finally, we construct some extremal graphs to claim all the bounds obtained in this paper are sharp.

Binomial coefficients and the ring of p-adic integers

Let k>1 be an integer and let p be a prime. We show that if $p^a\le k<2p^a$ or $k=p^aq+1$ (with 2q<p) for some a=1,2,..., then the set {\binom{n}{k}: n=0,1,2,...} is dense in the ring Z_p of p-adic integers, i.e., it contains a complete system of residues modulo any power of p.
