Multiple Clausen values and deformed Apéry-like series
With generalized central binomial coefficients $ \binom{2x}{x}:=\frac{Γ(2x+1)}{[Γ(x+1)]^2}$ defined through Euler's gamma function, we represent deformed Apéry-like series \[ \mathscr A_{s,n}:=\sum_{k=1}^\infty\left.\!\frac{\partial^n}{\partial x^n}\frac{1}{x^s\binom{2x}{x}}\right|_{x=k} \] by multiple Clausen values (MCVs), which belong to a special class of cyclotomic multiple zeta values (CMZVs) at level $3$. For example, exploiting provable algebraic relations among MCVs, we show that \[\mathscr A_{1,5}=-\frac{9[495L(χ_{-3},6)-30π^{2}L(χ_{-3},4)-2π^{4}L(χ_{-3},2)]}{4}\]and\[\mathscr A_{4,4}=\frac{352ζ_{5,3}}{15}+\frac{752537π^{8}}{10206000},\]where $ L(χ_{-3},s):=\sum_{n=0}^\infty\left[(3n+1)^{-s}-(3n+2)^{-s}\right]$ and $ ζ_{5,3}:=\sum_{m=1}^\infty\sum_{n=1}^{m-1}m^{-5}n^{-3}$.
A curious congruence modulo primes
For integers $l>0$ and $m\geqslant0$, we introduce the numbers $$S_l^{(m)}(n)=\sum_{k_1,\ldots,k_l\in\mathbb N\atop k_1+\cdots+k_l=n}\binom n{k_1,\ldots,k_l}^m \ \ (n=0,1,2,\ldots),$$ and prove that for any prime $p$ not dividing $l+1$ we have the congruence $$\sum_{n=1}^{p-1}\frac{(-1)^{mn}}{n^{m-1}}S_l^{(m)}(n)\equiv0\pmod p.$$ When $l=4$ and $m=2$, this yields the curious congruence $$\sum_{n=1}^{p-1}\frac{D(n)}n\equiv0\pmod p$$ for any prime $p\not=5$, where the Domb number $D(n)$ is given by $$D(n)=\sum_{k=0}^n\binom nk^2\binom{2k}k\binom{2(n-k)}{n-k}.$$
Exterior Algebra and an Extension of the Feng-Sun-Xiang Theorem in $p$-groups
Let $G$ be a finite group with $|G|=p^m$ where $p$ is a prime and $m$ is a positive integer. Let $k<p$. Let $a_1,\ldots,a_k\in G$ be pairwise distinct and let $b_1,\ldots,b_k\in G$. Then there exists a permutation $σ$ on $1,\ldots,k$ such that $a_1b_{σ(1)},\ldots,a_kb_{σ(k)}$ are pairwise distinct. This extends a theorem of Feng, Sun and Xiang, who proved that the conclusion holds in abelian $p$-groups.
On zero-sum problems of new types
In this paper, we investigate zero-sum problems of new types. For example, given $2n-1$ integers $a_1,\ldots,a_{2n-1}$ not divisible by an integer $n>1$, we prove that for some nonempty $I\subseteq\{1,\ldots,2n-1\}$ with $|I|\leqslant n$, the sum $\sum_{i\in I}a_i$ is divisible by $n$ but not divisible by $n^2$. We also pose several conjectures for further research.
Evaluation of two determinants involving $q$-integers
The $q$-analogue of an integer $m$ is given by $[m]_q=(1-q^m)/(1-q)$. Let $a$ be an integer, and let $n$ be a positive odd integer. Via discrete Fourier transforms, we establish the following two identities: $$\det\left[\left[\left\lfloor\frac{aj-(a+1)k}n\right\rfloor\right]_q\right]_{1\leqslant j,k\leqslant n}=-\left(\frac{a(a+1)}n\right)q^{(1-3n)/2}$$ and $$\det\left[\left[\left\lceil\frac{(a+1)j-ak}n\right\rceil\right]_q\right]_{1\leqslant j,k\leqslant n}=\left(\frac{a(a+1)}n\right)q^{(n-1)/2},$$ where $(\frac{\cdot}n)$ denotes the Jacobi symbol.
Evaluations of some series via the WZ method
In this paper, we evaluate some series via the WZ method, and confirm several previous conjectures. For example, we prove the following two identities conjectured by the second author: $$\sum_{k=0}^{\infty} \frac{(28k^2 + 10k + 1) \binom{2k}{k}^5}{(6k + 1)(-64)^k \binom{3k}{k} \binom{6k}{3k}} = \frac{3}π$$ and $$\sum_{k=1}^\infty \frac{d^4}{dk^4}\left(\frac{(21k-8)Γ(k+1)^2}{k^3Γ(2k+1)}\right)=\frac{1959}2ζ(6)-432ζ(3)^2. $$
Various conjectural series identities
In this paper we collect over 75 new series identities (involving binomial coefficients) conjectured by the author in 2026. For example, we conjecture that $$\sum_{k=0}^\infty\frac{16k+3}{(-202^2)^k}\binom{2k}kT_k(19,-20)T_{2k}(9,-5)=\frac{43\sqrt{101}}{75π},$$ where $T_n(b,c)$ denotes the coefficient of $x^n$ in the expansion of $(x^2+bx+c)^n$. The conjectures in this paper might interest some readers and stimulate further research.
Series involving central binomial coefficients and harmonic numbers of order 2
We derive modular parametrizations for certain infinite series whose summands involve central binomial coefficients and second-order harmonic numbers. When the rates of convergence are certain rational numbers, modularity allows us to reduce the corresponding series to special values of the Dirichlet $L$-values. For example, we establish the following identity that has been recently conjectured by Sun:\[\sum_{k=0}^\infty\binom{2k}{k}^3\left[ \mathsf H_{2k}^{(2)}-\frac{25}{92}\mathsf H_{ k}^{(2)} +\frac{735L_{-7}(2)-86π^{2}}{1104}\right]\frac{1}{4096^{k}}=0,\] where $ \mathsf H^{(2)}_k:= \sum_{0<j\leq k}\frac{1}{j^2}$ and $ L_{-7}(2):= \sum_{n=1}^\infty\left(\frac{-7}{n}\right)\frac{1}{n^2}=\frac{1}{1^2}+\frac{1}{2^2}-\frac{1}{3^2}+\frac{1}{4^{2}}-\frac{1}{5^{2}}-\frac{1}{6^{2}}+\frac{1}{8^{2}}+\cdots $.
On series identities involving $\binom{4k}k$ and harmonic numbers
The harmonic numbers are those $H_n=\sum_{0<k\le n}\frac1k\ (n=0,1,2,\ldots)$. In this paper we confirm over ten conjectural series identities with summands involving the binomial coefficient $\binom{4k}k$ and harmonic numbers. For example, we prove the identities $$\sum_{k=1}^\infty \frac{\binom{4k}{k}}{16^k}\left((22k^2-92k+11)H_{4k}-\frac{449k-275}{2}-\frac{85}{12k}\right)=-151-\frac{80}{3}\log{2}$$ and $$ \sum_{k=0}^\infty\frac{\binom{4k}{k}((11k^2+8k+1)(10H_{4k}-17H_{2k})+2k+18)}{(3k+1)(3k+2)16^k}=8\log2,$$ which were previously conjectured by Z.-W. Sun.

In this paper we study a family of polynomials $$S_n^{(m)}(x):=\sum_{i,j=0}^n\binom ni^m\binom nj^m\binom{i+j}ix^{i+j}\ \ (m,n=0,1,2,\ldots).$$ For example, we show that $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-1}S_k^{(0)}(x)\equiv\frac x{2x-1}\left(1+\left(\frac{1-4x^2}p\right)\right)\pmod p $$ for any odd prime $p$ and integer $x\not\equiv1/2\pmod p$, where $(\frac{\cdot}p)$ denotes the Legendre symbol.
We also formulate some open conjectures on related congruences and series for $1/π$. For example, we conjecture that $$\sum_{k=0}^\infty(7k+1)\frac{S_k^{(2)}(1/11)}{9^k}=\frac{5445}{104\sqrt{39}\,π}$$ and $$\sum_{k=0}^\infty(1365k+181)\frac{S_k^{(2)}(1/18)}{16^k}=\frac{1377}{\sqrt2\,π}.$$
Evaluations of $ \sum_{k=1}^\infty \frac{x^k}{k^2\binom{3k}{k}}$ and related series
We perform polylogarithmic reductions for several classes of infinite sums motivated by Z.-W. Sun's related works in 2022--2023. For certain choices of parameters, these series can be expressed by cyclotomic multiple zeta values of levels $4$, $5$, $6$, $7$, $8$, $9$, $10$, and $12$. In particular, we obtain closed forms of the series $$\sum_{k=0}^\infty\frac{x_0^k}{(k+1)\binom{3k}k} \ \ \text{and}\ \ \sum_{k=1}^\infty\frac{x_0^k}{k^2\binom{3k}k}$$ for any $x_0\in(-27/4,27/4)$.
Taylor coefficients and series involving harmonic numbers
During 2022--2023 Z.-W. Sun posed many conjectures on infinite series with summands involving generalized harmonic numbers. Motivated by this, we deduce $58$ series identities involving harmonic numbers, eight of which were previously conjectured by the second author. For example, we obtain that \[ \sum_{k=1}^{\infty} \frac{(-1)^k}{k^2{2k \choose k}{3k \choose k}} \left( \frac{7 k-2}{2 k-1} H_{k-1}^{(2)}-\frac{3}{4 k^2} \right) = \frac{π^4}{720}. \] and \[ \sum_{k=1}^\infty \frac{1}{k^2 {2k \choose k}^2} \left( \frac{30k-11}{k(2k-1)} (H_{2k-1}^{(3)} + 2 H_{k-1}^{(3)}) + \frac{27}{8k^4} \right) = 4 ζ(3)^2, \] where $H_n^{(m)}$ denotes $\sum_{0<j \le n}j^{-m}$.
New series involving binomial coefficients (II)
In this paper, we evaluate some series of the form $$\sum_{k=1}^\infty\frac{ak^2+bk+c}{k(3k-1)(3k-2)m^k\binom{4k}k}.$$ For example, we prove that $$\sum_{k=1}^\infty\frac{(5k^2-4k+1)8^{k}}{k(3k-1)(3k-2)\binom{4k}k}=\frac{3}2π$$ and $$\sum_{k=1}^\infty\frac{415k^2-343k+62}{k(3k-1)(3k-2)(-8)^k\binom{4k}k}=-3\log2.$$ We also pose many new conjectural series identities involving binomial coefficients; for example, we conjecture that $$\sum_{k=0}^\infty\frac{\binom{2k}k^3}{4096^k}\left(9(42k+5)\sum_{0\le j<k}\frac1{(2j+1)^4}+\frac{25}{(2k+1)^3}\right)=\frac 56π^3.$$
On an inverse problem for restricted sumsets
Let $n$ be a positive integer, and let $A$ be a set of $k\ge 2n-1$ integers. For the restricted sumset $$ S_n(A)=\{a_1+\cdots +a_n:\ a_1,\ldots,a_n\in A,\ \text{and}\ a_i^2\neq a_j^2\ \text{for} \ 1\le i<j\le n\}, $$ by a 2002 result of Liu and Sun we have $$|S_n(A)|\ge (k-1)n-\frac 32n(n-1)+1.$$ In this paper, we determine the structure of $A$ when the lower bound is attained.
A new result similar to the Graham-Pollak theorem
Let $n>1$ be an integer, and let $T$ be a tree with $n+1$ vertices $v_1,\ldots,v_{n+1}$, where $v_1$ and $v_{n+1}$ are two leaves of $T$. For each edge $e$ of $T$, assign a complex number $w(e)$ as its weight. We obtain that $$\det[x+d(v_{j+1},v_k)]_{1\le j,k\le n}=2^{n-2}\prod_{e\in E(T)}w(e),$$ where $d(v_{j+1},v_k)$ is the weighted distance between $v_{j+1}$ and $v_k$ in the tree $T$. This is similar to the celebrated Graham-Pollak theorem on determinants of distance matrices for trees. Actually, a more general result is deduced in this paper.
On determinants involving second-order recurrent sequences
Let $A$ and $B$ be complex numbers, and let $(w_n)_{n\ge0}$ be a sequence of complex numbers with $w_{n+1}=Aw_n-Bw_{n-1}$ for all $n=1,2,3,\ldots$. When $w_0=0$ and $w_1=1$, the sequence $(w_n)_{n\ge0}$ is just the Lucas sequence $(u_n(A,B))_{n\ge0}$. In this paper, we evaluate the determinants $$\det[w_{|j-k|}]_{1\le j,k\le n}\ \ \text{and}\ \ \det[w_{|j-k+1|}]_{1\le j,k\le n}.$$ In particular, we have $$\det[u_{|j-k|}(A,B)]_{1\le j,k\le n}=(-1)^{n-1}u_{n-1}(2A,(B+1)^2).$$ When $B=-1$ and $2\mid n$, we also determine the characteristic polynomial of the matrix $[w_{j+k}]_{0\le j,k\le n-1}$.

In this paper, we mainly establish a congruence for a sum involving Apéry numbers, which was conjectured by Z.-W. Sun. Namely, for any prime $p>3$ and positive odd integer $m$, we prove that there is a $p$-adic integer $c_m$ only depending on $m$ such that $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-1}(2k+1)^{m}(-1)^kA_k\equiv c_mp\left(\frac{p}{3}\right)\pmod{p^3},$$ where $A_k=\sum_{j=0}^{k}\binom{k}{j}^2\binom{k+j}{j}^2$ is the Apéry number and $(\frac{\cdot}{p})$ is the Legendre symbol.
A novel permanent identity with applications
Let $n$ be a positive integer, and define the rational function $S(x_1,\ldots,x_{2n})$ as the permanent of the matrix $[x_{j,k}]_{1\le j,k\le 2n}$, where $$x_{j,k}=\begin{cases}(x_j+x_k)/(x_j-x_k)&\text{if}\ j\not=k,\\1&\text{if}\ j=k.\end{cases}$$ We give an explicit formula for $S(x_1,\ldots,x_{2n})$ which has the following consequence: If one of the variables $x_1,\ldots,x_{2n}$ takes zero, then $S(x_1,\ldots,x_{2n})$ vanishes, i.e., $$\sum_{τ\in S_{2n}}\prod_{j=1\atop τ(j)\not=j}^{2n}\frac{x_j+x_{τ(j)}}{x_j-x_{τ(j)}}=0,$$ where we view an empty product $\prod_{i\in\emptyset}a_i$ as $1$. As an application, we show that if $ζ$ is a primitive $2n$-th root of unity then $$\sum_{τ\in S_{2n}}\prod_{j=1\atop τ(j)\not=j}^{2n}\frac{1+ζ^{j-τ(j)}}{1-ζ^{j-τ(j)}}=((2n-1)!!)^2$$ as conjectured by Z.-W. Sun.

Let $n>1$ be an odd integer. For any primitive $n$-th root $ζ$ of unity in the complex field. Via the Engenvector-eigenvalue Identity, we show that $$\sum_{τ\in D(n-1)}\mathrm{sign}(τ)\prod_{j=1}^{n-1}\frac{1+ζ^{j-τ(j)}}{1-ζ^{j-τ(j)}} =(-1)^{\frac{n-1}{2}}\frac{((n-2)!!)^2}{n}, $$ where $D(n-1)$ is the set of all derangements of $1,\ldots,n-1$. This confirms a previous conjecture of Z.-W. Sun. Moreover, for each $δ=0,1$ we determine the value of $\det[x+m_{jk}]_{1\le j,k\le n}$ completely, where $$m_{jk}=\begin{cases}(1+ζ^{j-k})/(1-ζ^{j-k})&\text{if}\ j\not=k,\\δ&\text{if}\ j=k. \end{cases}$$

In this paper, via the beta function we evaluate some series of the type $\sum_{k=0}^\infty(ak+b)x^k/\binom{mk}{nk}$. For example, we prove that $$\sum_{k=0}^\infty\frac{(49k+1)8^k}{3^k\binom{3k}k}=81+16\sqrt3\,π\ \ \text{and}\ \ \sum_{k=0}^\infty\frac{10k-1}{\binom{4k}{2k}}=\frac{4\sqrt 3}{27}π.$$
We also establish the following efficient formula for computing $\log n$ with $1<n\le 85/4$: \begin{align*} &\sum_{k=0}^\infty\frac{(2(n^2+6n+1)^2(n^2-10n+1)k+P(n))(n-1)^{4k}} {(-n)^k(n+1)^{2k}\binom{4k}{2k}}\\ \ \ &=6n(n+1)(n-1)^3\log n-32n(n+1)^2(n^2-4n+1), \end{align*} where $$P(n):=n^6-58n^5+159n^4+52n^3+159n^2-58n+1.$$ In addition, we pose some conjectures on series whose summands involve $\binom{2k}k/(\binom{3k}k\binom{6k}{3k})\ (k\in\mathbb N)$.
