Spectral extremal problems for fractional $ID$-$[a,b]$-factor-critical graphs
A factor of a graph is essentially a specific type spanning subgraph. In recent years, the spectral extremal problem of characterizing the existence of graph factors via eigenvalues has been widely studied. This paper focuses on fractional $ID$-$[a, b]$-factor-critical graphs, which are a natural generalization of fractional $[a,b]$-factors. Let $r \ge 1$ be an integer. A graph $G$ is fractional $ID$-$[a, b]$-factor-critical if for every independent set $I$ of $G$ with $|I| = r$, $G - I$ has a fractional $[a, b]$-factor. In 2026, Jia, Fan and Liu posed the spectral version conjecture for a graph to be fractional $ID$-$[a, b]$-factor-critical [Linear Algebra Appl. 732 (2026) 1-17]. In this paper, we first prove the conjecture holds for connected graphs when $b\ge 2r+2$. Furthermore, for minimum degree $δ(G)\ge a+r$, we present spectral radius and size conditions that ensure a graph is fractional $ID$-$[a, b]$-factor-critical, which improve the results of Jia, Fan and Liu.

Spectral extremal problems for $(a,b,k)$-critical and fractional $(a,b,k)$-critical graphs
A factor of a graph is essentially a specific type spanning subgraph. The study of characterizing the existence of $[a, b]$-factors based on eigenvalue conditions can be traced back to the work of Brouwer and Haemers (2005) on perfect matchings. With the advancement of graphs factor theory, the related spectral extremal problems, particularly the study of $[a,b]$-factors and fractional $[a,b]$-factors, have been widely studied by scholars. Our work is motivated by research related to the $[a,b]$-factors and fractional $[a,b]$-factors, and explores their generalizations: $(a,b,k)$-critical graphs and fractional $(a,b,k)$-critical graphs. A graph $G$ is called an $(a,b,k)$-critical (a fractional $(a,b,k)$-critical) graph if after deleting any $k$ vertices of $G$ the remaining graph of $G$ has an $[a,b]$-factor (a fractional $[a,b]$-factor). In this paper, we establish spectral radius conditions for a graph to be $(a,b,k)$-critical or fractional $(a,b,k)$-critical. When $k=0$, our results also resolve some open problems concerning $[a, b]$-factors and fractional $[a, b]$-factors.

Spectral radius and size conditions for fractional $(a,b,m)$-covered graphs
A fractional $(a,b,m)$-covered graph is a generalization of the concept of a fractional $[a,b]$-covered graph. For any $H \subseteq G$ with edge set $|E(H)| = m$, if there exists a fractional $[a,b]$-factor (the corresponding fractional indicator function is $h$) such that $h(e) = 1$ for any $e \in H$, then the graph $G$ is called a fractional $(a,b,m)$-covered graph. In this paper, we characterize the conditions for a graph to be a fractional $(a,b,m)$-covered graph from the perspectives of spectral radius and size, respectively.

Ordering digraphs with maximum outdegrees by their $A_α$ spectral radius
Let $G$ be a strongly connected digraph with $n$ vertices and $m$ arcs. For any real $α\in[0,1]$, the $A_α$ matrix of a digraph $G$ is defined as $$A_α(G)=αD(G)+(1-α)A(G),$$ where $A(G)$ is the adjacency matrix of $G$ and $D(G)$ is the outdegrees diagonal matrix of $G$. The eigenvalue of $A_α(G)$ with the largest modulus is called the $A_α$ spectral radius of $G$, denoted by $λ_α(G)$. In this paper, we first obtain an upper bound on $λ_α(G)$ for $α\in[\frac{1}{2},1)$. Employing this upper bound, we prove that for two strongly connected digraphs $G_1$ and $G_2$ with $n\ge4$ vertices and $m$ arcs, and $α\in [\frac{1}{\sqrt{2}},1)$, if the maximum outdegree $Δ^+(G_1)\ge 2α(1-α)(m-n+1)+2α$ and $Δ^+(G_1)>Δ^+(G_2)$, then $λ_α(G_1)>λ_α(G_2)$. Moreover, We also give another upper bound on $λ_α(G)$ for $α\in[\frac{1}{2},1)$. Employing this upper bound, we prove that for two strongly connected digraphs with $m$ arcs, and $α\in[\frac{1}{2},1)$, if the maximum outdegree $Δ^+(G_1)>\frac{2m}{3}+1$ and $Δ^+(G_1)>Δ^+(G_2)$, then $λ_α(G_1)+\frac{1}{4}>λ_α(G_2)$.

On the $D_α$ spectral radius of non-transmission regular graphs
Let $G$ be a connected graph with order $n$ and size $m$. Let $D(G)$ and $Tr(G)$ be the distance matrix and diagonal matrix with vertex transmissions of $G$, respectively. For any real $α\in[0,1]$, the generalized distance matrix $D_α(G)$ of $G$ is defined as $$D_α(G)=αTr(G)+(1-α)D(G).$$ The largest eigenvalue of $D_α(G)$ is called the $D_α$ spectral radius or generalized distance spectral radius of $G$, denoted by $μ_α(G)$. In this paper, we establish a lower bound on the difference between the maximum vertex transmission and the $D_α$ spectral radius of non-transmission regular graphs, and we also characterize the extremal graphs attaining the bound.

Matching, odd $[1,b]$-factor and distance spectral radius of graphs with given some parameters
For a connected graph $G$, let $μ(G)$ denote the distance spectral radius of $G$. A matching in a graph $G$ is a set of disjoint edges of $G$. The maximum size of a matching in $G$ is called the matching number of $G$, denoted by $α(G)$. An odd $[1, b]$-factor of a graph $G$ is a spanning subgraph $G_0$ such that the degree $d_{G_0}(v)$ of $v$ in $G_0$ is odd and $1\le d_{G_0}(v)\le b$ for every vertex $v\in V (G)$. In this paper, we give a sharp upper bound in terms of the distance spectral radius to guarantee $α(G)>\frac{n-k}{2}$ in an $n$-vertex $t$-connected graph $G$, where $2\le k \le n-2$ is an integer. We also present a sharp upper bound in terms of distance spectral radius for the existence of an odd $[1,b]$-factor in a graph with given minimum degree $δ$.

On the distance spectral radius, fractional matching and factors of graphs with given minimum degree
A fractional matching of $G$ is a function $f: E(G)\to [0,1]$ such that $\sum_{e\in E_G(v_i)}f(e)\le 1$ for any $v_i\in V(G)$, where $E_G(v_i)=\{e: e\in E(G) \ \textrm{and}\ e \ \textrm{is incident with} \ v_i\}$. Let $α_f(G)$ denote the fractional matching number of $G$, which is defined as $α_f(G)=\max\{\sum_{e\in E(G)}f(e): f\ \textrm{is a fractional matching of} \ G\}$. Let $\{G_1,G_2,G_3,\dots\}$ be a set of graphs, a $\{G_1,G_2,G_3,\dots\}$-factor of a graph $G$ is a spanning subgraph of $G$ such that each component of which is isomorphic to one of $\{G_1,G_2,G_3,\dots\}$. In this paper, we first establish a sharp upper bound for the distance spectral radius to guarantee that $α_f(G)>\frac{n-k}{2}$ in a graph $G$ of order $n$ with given minimum degree, where $0<k<n$ is an integer. Then we give a sharp upper bound on the distance spectral radius of a graph $G$ with given minimum degree $δ$ to ensure that $G$ has a $\{K_2, \{C_k\}\}$-factor, where $3\le k<+\infty$ is an integer. Moreover, we obtain a sharp upper bound on the distance spectral radius for the existence of a $\{K_{1,1},K_{1,2},\dots,K_{1,k}\}$-factor with $2\le k<+\infty$ in a graph $G$ with given minimum degree.

On the $A_α$ spectral radius and $A_α$ energy of digraphs
Let $G$ be a digraph with adjacency matrix $A(G)$ and outdegrees diagonal matrix $D(G)$. For any real $α\in[0,1]$, the $A_α$ matrix $A_α(G)$ of a digraph $G$ is defined as $A_α(G)=αD(G)+(1-α)A(G)$. The eigenvalue of $A_α(G)$ with the largest modulus is called the $A_α$ spectral radius of $G$. In this paper, we first give some upper bounds for the $A_α$ spectral radius of a digraph and we also characterize the extremal digraphs attaining these bounds. Moreover, we define the $A_α$ energy of a digraph $G$ as $E^{A_α}(G)=\sum\limits_{i=1}^n(λ^α_i(G))^2$, where $n$ is the number of vertices and $λ^α_i(G)$ $(i=1,2,\ldots,n)$ are the eigenvalues of $A_α(G)$. We obtain a formula for $E^{A_α}(G)$, and give a lower and upper bounds for $E^{A_α}(G)$ and characterize the extremal digraphs that attain the lower and upper bounds. Finally, we characterize the extremal digraphs with maximum and minimum $A_α$ energy among all directed trees and unicyclic digraphs, respectively.

Let $G$ be a digraph with adjacency matrix $A(G)$. Let $D(G)$ be the diagonal matrix with outdegrees of vertices of $G$. Nikiforov \cite{Niki} proposed to study the convex combinations of the adjacency matrix and diagonal matrix of the degrees of undirected graphs. Liu et al. \cite{LWCL} extended the definition to digraphs. For any real $α\in[0,1]$, the matrix $A_α(G)$ of a digraph $G$ is defined as $$A_α(G)=αD(G)+(1-α)A(G).$$ The largest modulus of the eigenvalues of $A_α(G)$ is called the $A_α$ spectral radius of $G$, denoted by $λ_α(G)$. This paper proves some extremal results about the spectral radius $λ_α(G)$ that generalize previous results about $λ_0(G)$ and $λ_{\frac{1}{2}}(G)$. In particular, we characterize the extremal digraph with the maximum (or minimum) $A_α$ spectral radius among all $\widetilde{\infty}$-digraphs and $\widetildeθ$-digraphs on $n$ vertices. Furthermore, we determine the digraphs with the second and the third minimum $A_α$ spectral radius among all strongly connected bicyclic digraphs. For $0\leqα\leq\frac{1}{2}$, we also determine the digraphs with the second, the third and the fourth minimum $A_α$ spectral radius among all strongly connected digraphs on $n$ vertices. Finally, we characterize the digraph with the minimum $A_α$ spectral radius among all strongly connected bipartite digraphs which contain a complete bipartite subdigraph.

Let $D(G)$ and $D^Q(G)= Diag(Tr) + D(G)$ be the distance matrix and distance signless Laplacian matrix of a simple strongly connected digraph $G$, respectively, where $Diag(Tr)=\textrm{diag}(D_1,D_2,$ $\ldots,D_n)$ be the diagonal matrix with vertex transmissions of the digraph $G$. To track the gradual change of $D(G)$ into $D^Q(G)$, in this paper, we propose to study the convex combinations of $D(G)$ and $Diag(Tr)$ defined by $$D_α(G)=αDiag(Tr)+(1-α)D(G), \ \ 0\leq α\leq1.$$ This study reduces to merging the distance spectral and distance signless Laplacian spectral theories. The eigenvalue with the largest modulus of $D_α(G)$ is called the $D_α$ spectral radius of $G$, denoted by $μ_α(G)$. We determine the digraph which attains the maximum (or minimum) $D_α$ spectral radius among all strongly connected digraphs. Moreover, we also determine the digraphs which attain the minimum $D_α$ spectral radius among all strongly connected digraphs with given parameters such as dichromatic number, vertex connectivity or arc connectivity.

Merging the A- and Q-spectral theories for digraphs
Let $G$ be a digraph and $A(G)$ be the adjacency matrix of $G$. Let $D(G)$ be the diagonal matrix with outdegrees of vertices of $G$. For any real $α\in[0,1]$, Liu et al. \cite{LWCL} defined the matrix $A_α(G)$ as $$A_α(G)=αD(G)+(1-α)A(G).$$ The largest modulus of the eigenvalues of $A_α(G)$ is called the $A_α$ spectral radius of $G$. In this paper, we determine the digraphs which attain the maximum (or minimum) $A_α$ spectral radius among all strongly connected digraphs with given parameters such as girth, clique number, vertex connectivity or arc connectivity. We also discuss a number of open problems.
The unicyclic graphs with the second smallest normalized Laplacian eigenvalue no less than $1-\frac{\sqrt{6}}{3}$
Let $λ_{2}(G)$ be the second smallest normalized Laplacian eigenvalue of a graph $G$. In this paper, we determine all unicyclic graphs of order $n\geq21$ with $λ_{2}(G)\geq 1-\frac{\sqrt{6}}{3}$. Moreover, the unicyclic graphs with $λ_{2}(G)=1-\frac{\sqrt{6}}{3}$ are also determined.

The minimum Q-index of strongly connected bipartite digraphs with complete bipartite subdigraphs
Let $\mathcal{G}_{n,p,q}$ denote the set of strongly connected bipartite digraphs on $n$ vertices which contain a complete bipartite subdigraph $\overleftrightarrow{K_{p,q}}$, where $p, q, n$ are positive integers and $p+q \leq n$. In this paper, we study the Q-index (i.e. the signless Laplacian spectral radius) of $\mathcal{G}_{n,p,q}$, and determine the extremal digraph that has the minimum Q-index.

Let $G=(V(G) ,E(G))$ be a digraph without loops and multiarcs, where $V(G)=\{v_1,v_2,\ldots,v_n\}$ and $E(G)$ are the vertex set and the arc set of $G$, respectively. Let $d_i^{+}$ be the outdegree of the vertex $v_i$. Let $A(G)$ be the adjacency matrix of $G$ and $D(G)=\textrm{diag}(d_1^{+},d_2^{+},\ldots,d_n^{+})$ be the diagonal matrix with outdegrees of the vertices of $G$. Then we call $Q(G)=D(G)+A(G)$ the signless Laplacian matrix of $G$. The spectral radius of $Q(G)$ is called the signless Laplacian spectral radius of $G$, denoted by $q(G)$. In this paper, some upper bounds for $q(G)$ are obtained. Furthermore, some upper bounds on $q(G)$ involving outdegrees and the average 2-outdegrees of the vertices of $G$ are also derived.
