Stanley (1986) introduced the order polytope and chain polytope of a partially ordered set and showed that they are related by a piecewise-linear homeomorphism. In this paper we view order and chain polytopes as instances of distributive and anti-blocking polytopes, respectively. Both these classes of polytopes are defined in terms of the componentwise partial order on $\mathbb R^n$. We generalize Stanley's PL-homeomorphism to a large class of distributive polyhedra using infinite walks in marked networks.

We provide a Minkowski sum decomposition of marked chain-order polytopes into building blocks associated to elementary markings and thus give an explicit minimal set of generators of an associated semi-group algebra. We proceed by characterizing the reflexive polytopes among marked chain-order polytopes as those with the underlying marked poset being ranked.
Vertex-Maximal Lattice Polytopes Contained in 2-Simplices
Motivated by the problem of bounding the number of rays of plane tropical curves we study the following question: Given $n\in\mathbb{N}$ and a unimodular $2$-simplex $Δ$ what is the maximal number of vertices a lattice polytope contained in $n\cdot Δ$ can have? We determine this number for an infinite subset of $\mathbb{N}$ by providing a family of vertex-maximal polytopes and give bounds for the other cases.

For any marked poset we define a continuous family of polytopes, parametrized by a hypercube, generalizing the notions of marked order and marked chain polytopes. By providing transfer maps, we show that the vertices of the hypercube parametrize an Ehrhart equivalent family of lattice polytopes. The combinatorial type of the polytopes is constant when the parameters vary in the relative interior of each face of the hypercube. Moreover, with the help of a subdivision arising from a tropical hyperplane arrangement associated to the marked poset, we give an explicit description of the vertices of the polytope for generic parameters.

We study a class of polyhedra associated to marked posets. Examples of these polyhedra are Gelfand-Tsetlin polytopes and cones, as well as Berenstein-Zelevinsky polytopes, all of which have appeared in the representation theory of semi-simple Lie algebras. The faces of these polyhedra correspond to certain partitions of the underlying poset and we give a combinatorial characterization of these partitions. We specify a class of marked posets that give rise to polyhedra with facets in correspondence to the covering relations of the poset. On the convex geometrical side, we describe the recession cone of the polyhedra, discuss products and give a Minkowski sum decomposition. We briefly discuss intersections with affine subspaces that have also appeared in representation theory and recently in the theory of finite Hilbert space frames.
Cofibrant objects in the Thomason Model Structure
There are Quillen equivalent Thomason model structures on the category of small categories, the category of small acyclic categories and the category of posets. These share the property that cofibrant objects are posets. In fact, they share the same class of cofibrant objects. We show that every finite semilattice, every chain, every countable tree, every finite zigzag and every poset with five or less elements is cofibrant in all of those structures.

Hilbert space frames generalize orthonormal bases to allow redundancy in representations of vectors while keeping good reconstruction properties. A frame comes with an associated frame operator encoding essential properties of the frame. We study a polytope that arises in an algorithm for constructing all finite frames with given lengths of frame vectors and spectrum of the frame operator, which is a Gelfand-Tsetlin polytope. For equal norm tight frames, we give a non-redundant description of the polytope in terms of equations and inequalities. From this we obtain the dimension and number of facets of the polytope.
