Pollyanna and Polynomially \c{hi}-Bounded Graph Classes
A hereditary graph class is called polynomially $χ$-bounded if there exists a polynomial function $f$ such that $χ(G) \le f(ω(G))$ for every induced subgraph $G$. A class $\mathcal{C}$ is called Pollyanna if, for every $χ$-bounded class $\mathcal{F}$, the class $\mathcal{C} \cap \mathcal{F}$ is polynomially $χ$-bounded.
In the paper by Chudnovsky et al., \emph{Reuniting $χ$-boundedness with polynomial $χ$-boundedness} (J.\ Combin.\ Theory Ser.\ B 176 (2026), 30--73), the authors posed twelve problems and one conjecture concerning the Pollyanna framework. In this work, we investigate several of these problems by studying the chromatic number of hereditary graph classes defined by forbidden induced subgraphs.
We prove three new strong Pollyanna results. In particular, for every $t \ge 2$, every $\{\text{diamond}, \mathrm{hammer}(t)^+\}$-free graph is $t$-strongly Pollyanna. We also show that graph classes obtained by forbidding suitable combinations of bowties and dumbbells are $(2t-2)$-strongly Pollyanna.
We show that the class of $\{(2,2)$-bowtie, $P_5$, $(3,3)$-dumbbell$\}$-free graphs is polynomially $χ$-bounded. We also prove polynomial $χ$-boundedness for diamond-free graphs in which every edge lies in at least two triangles, under additional forbidden configurations.
On the analogue of Esperet's conjecture: Characterizing hereditary classes
In the paper [J. Graph Theory (2023) 102:458-471, the Esperet's conjecture has been posed: Every $χ$-bounded hereditary class is poly-$χ$-bounded]. This conjecture was first posed in [Habilitation Thesis, Université Grenoble Alpes, 24, 2017]. This is adapted from the Gyárfás--Sumner's conjecture which has been asserted in [The Theory and Applications of Graphs, (G. Chartrand, ed.), John Wiley & Sons, New York, 1981, pp. 557-576].
Although the Esperet's conjecture is false in general, in this study we consider an analogue of Esperet's conjecture as follows: Let $C$ be a hereditary class of graphs, and $d \ge 1$. Suppose that there is a function $f$ such that $χ(G) \le f(τ_d(G))$ for each $G \in C$. Can we always choose $f$ to be a polynomial? We investigate this conjecture by focusing on specific classes of graphs. This work identifies hereditary graph classes that do not contain specific induced subdivisions of claws and confirms that they adhere to the stated conjecture.
Towards Esperet's Conjecture: Polynomial $χ$-Bounds for Structured Graph Classes
In this paper, we establish that the class of $\{P_6, (2,2)\text{-broom}\}$-free graphs contains a subclass $\mathcal{L}_i$, defined by certain cutset conditions, whose chromatic number admits a linear $χ$-bound. Building on recent results showing that broom-free graphs excluding $K_d(t)$ as a subgraph admit a polynomial bound in~$t$ on their chromatic number (A broom is obtained from a path with one end $v$ by adding leaves adjacent to $v$), we extend this result to the hereditary class $\mathcal{H}$ of $C_4$-free and \emph{$p$-flag}-free graphs (where a \emph{$p$-flag} is a triangle with an attached $p$-path). We show that if $G \in \mathcal{H}$ is $B^{+}(p+2, t-1)$-free (for $p \ge 2$ and $t \ge 3$, that is, if it excludes a generalized broom with an additional leaf), and does not contain $K_d(t)$ as a subgraph, then $χ(G)$ is polynomially bounded in $t$. Furthermore, for the subclass of $\mathcal{H}$ excluding $K_3(t)$ as a subgraph, we prove that $χ(G)$ is linearly $χ$-bounded in $ω(G)$.
Edge-Locating Coloring of Graphs
An edge-locating coloring of a simple connected graph $G$ is a partition of its edge set into matchings such that the vertices of $G$ are distinguished by the distance to the matchings. The minimum number of the matchings of $G$ that admits an edge-locating coloring is the edge-locating chromatic number of $G$, and denoted by $χ'_L(G)$. In this paper we initiate to introduce the concept of edge-locating coloring and determine the exact values $χ'_L(G)$ of some custom graphs. The graphs $G$ with $χ'_L(G)\in \{2,m\}$ are characterized, where $m$ is the size of $G$. We investigate the relationship between order, diameter, and edge-locating chromatic number of $G$. For a complete graph $K_n$, we obtain the exact values of $χ'_L(K_n)$ and $χ'_L(K_n-M)$, where $M$ is a maximum matching; indeed this result is also extended for any graph. We will determine the edge-locating chromatic number of join graph $G+H$, where $G$ and $H$ are some well-known graphs. In particular, for any graph $G$, we show a relationship between $χ'_L(G+K_1)$ and $Δ(G)$. We investigate the edge-locating chromatic number of trees and present a characterization bound for any tree in terms of maximum degree, number of leaves, and the support vertices of trees. Finally, we prove that any edge-locating coloring of a graph is an edge distinguishing coloring.

A subset $D\subseteq V(G)$ is called a $k$-distance dominating set of $G$ if every vertex in $V(G)\setminus D$ is within distance $k$ from some vertex of $D$. The minimum cardinality among all $k$-distance dominating sets of $G$ is called the $k$-distance domination number of $G$. In this note we give upper bound on the $k$-distance domination number of a connected bipartite graph and improve some results have been given like Theorem 2.1 and 2,7 in [Tian and Xu, A note on distance domination of graphs, Australian Journal of Combinatorics, 43 (2009), 181-190].

A set $D$ of vertices of a graph $G$ is a dominating set if each vertex of $V(G)\setminus D$ is adjacent to some vertex of $D$. The domination number of $G$, $γ(G)$, is the minimum cardinality of a dominating set of $G$. A graph $G$ is called domination vertex critical, or just $γ$-critical if removal of any vertex decreases the domination number. A graph $G$ is called domination vertex stable, or just $γ$-stable, if removal of any vertex does not decrease the domination number. For an even integer $n\ge 2$ and $1\le Δ\le \lfloor \log_2n \rfloor$, a Knödel graph $W_{Δ,n}$ is a $Δ$-regular bipartite graph of even order $n$, with vertices $(i,j)$, for $i=1,2$ and $0\le j \le n/2-1$, where for every $j$, $0\le j \le n/2-1$, there is an edge between vertex $(1,j)$ and every vertex $(2,j+2^k-1$ (mod (n/2)), for $k=0,1,\cdots,Δ-1$. in this paper, we study the domination criticality and domination stability of Knödel graphs. We charactrize the 3-regular and 4-regular Knödel graphs by $γ$-criticality or $γ$-stability.

In this paper, we find upper bounds on the open packing and $k$-limited packing numbers with emphasis on the cases $k=1$ and $k=2$. We solve the problem of characterizing all connected graphs on $n$ vertices with $ρ_{o}(G)=n/δ(G)$ which was presented in 2015 by Hamid and Saravanakumar. Also, by establishing a relation between the $k$-limited packing number and double domination number we improve two upper bounds given by Chellali and Haynes in 2005.

In this paper, we investigate the packing parameters in graphs. By applying the Mantel's theorem, We give upper bounds on packing and open packing numbers of triangle-free graphs along with characterizing the graphs for which the equalities hold and exhibit sharp Nordhaus-Gaddum type inequalities for packing numbers. We also solve the open problem of characterizing all connected graphs with $ρ_{o}(G)=n-ω(G)$ posed in [S. Hamid and S. Saravanakumar, {\em Packing parameters in graphs}, Discuss Math. Graph Theory, 35 (2015), 5--16].

We study the Nordhaus-Gaddum type results for $(k-1,k,j)$ and $k$-domination numbers of a graph $G$ and investigate these bounds for the $k$-limited packing and $k$-total limited packing numbers in graphs. As the special case $(k-1,k,j)=(1,2,0)$ we give an upper bound on $dd(G)+dd(\overline{G})$ stronger than that presented by Harary and Haynes (1996). Moreover, we establish upper bounds on the sum and product of packing and open packing numbers and characterize all graphs attaining these bounds.

In this paper, we study the inverse signed total domination number in graphs and present new lower and upper bounds on this parameter. For example by making use of the classic theorem of Turan (1941), we present a sharp upper bound for graphs with no induced complete subgraph of order greater than two. Also, we bound this parameter for a tree in terms of its order and the number of leaves and characterize all trees attaining this bound.

In this paper, we study the signed total domination number in graphs and present new sharp lower and upper bounds for this parameter. For example by making use of the classic theorem of Turan, we present a sharp lower bound on this parameter for graphs with no complete graph of order r+1 as a subgraph. Also, we prove that n-2(s-s') is an upper bound on the signed total domination number of any tree of order n with s support vertices and s' support vertives of degree two. Moreover, we characterize all trees attainig this bound.
