Interval hypergraphic polytopes (or deformed associahedra), Tamari interval posets, and weeping willows
For a hypergraph $\mathbb{H}$ on $[n]$, the hypergraphic polytope $\triangle_{\mathbb{H}}$ is the Minkowski sum of the standard simplices $\triangle_H$ for all $H \in \mathbb{H}$. We focus here on interval hypergraphs, where all hyperedges are intervals of $[n]$. They are precisely the deformations of Loday's associahedron. Their vertex posets are Tamari interval posets, and we describe which Tamari interval poset appears as a vertex poset in which interval hypergraphic polytope. We also characterize the interval hypergraphs $\mathbb{I}$ for which the hypergraphic polytope $\triangle_\mathbb{I}$ is simple, and we study their vertex posets, which we call weeping willows.
Lattice characterization of cyclic interval hypergraphic posets
Hypergraphic polytopes $Δ_{\mathbb{H}}$ arise as Minkowski sums of simplices indexed by the hyperedges of a hypergraph $\mathbb{H}$. Orienting the $1$-skeleton of such a polytope by a certain generic linear functional gives rise to the hypergraphic poset $P_{\mathbb{H}}$. Hypergraphic posets include the weak order for the permutahedron and the Tamari lattice for the associahedron. This motivates the problem of determining when $P_{\mathbb{H}}$ is a lattice. In this paper, we give a complete lattice characterization for cyclic interval hypergraphs, extending the result of Bergeron and Pilaud for interval hypergraphs, and the result of Adenbaum et al. for the complete cyclic interval hypergraph.
Source characterization of the hypergraphic posets
For a hypergraph $\mathbb{H}$ on $[n]$, the hypergraphic poset $P_\mathbb{H}$ is the transitive closure of the oriented $1$-skeleton of the hypergraphic polytope $Δ_\mathbb{H}$. In a recent paper, N. Bergeron and V. Pilaud provided a characterization of $P_\mathbb{H}$ based on the sources of acyclic orientations for interval hypergraphs. The goal of this work is to extend this source characterization of $P_\mathbb{H}$ for arbitrary hypergraphs on $[n]$.
Ornamentation lattices and intreeval hypergraphic lattices
Given a directed graph $D$ with transitive closure $\operatorname{tc}(D)$ and path hypergraph $\mathbb{P}(D)$, we study the connections between the (acyclic) reorientation poset of $\operatorname{tc}(D)$, the (acyclic) sourcing poset of $\mathbb{P}(D)$, and the (acyclic) ornamentation poset of $D$. Geometrically, the acyclic reorientation poset of $\operatorname{tc}(D)$ (resp. the acyclic sourcing poset of $\mathbb{P}(D)$) is the transitive closure of the skeleton of the graphical zonotope of $\operatorname{tc}(D)$ (resp. of the hypergraphic polytope of $\mathbb{P}(D)$) oriented in a linear direction. When $D$ is a rooted (or even unstarred) increasing tree, we show that the acyclic sourcing poset of $\mathbb{P}(D)$ is isomorphic to the ornamentation lattice of $D$, and that they form a lattice quotient of the acyclic reorientation lattice of $\operatorname{tc}(D)$. As a consequence, we obtain polytopal realizations of the ornamentation lattices of rooted (or even unstarred) increasing trees, answering an open question of C. Defant and A. Sack. When $D$ is an increasing tree, we show that the ornamentation lattice of $D$ is the MacNeille completion of the acyclic sourcing poset of $\mathbb{P}(D)$. Finally, still when $D$ is an increasing tree, we use the ornamentation lattice of $D$ to characterize the subhypergraphs of the path hypergraph $\mathbb{P}(D)$ whose acyclic sourcing poset is a lattice.
When are Hopf algebras determined by integer sequences?
We study the category of graded Hopf algebras that are free noncommutative, cocommutative, graded and connected from the perspective of the sequences of dimensions of the graded pieces. We show that a Hopf algebra exists with a given sequence of graded dimensions if and only if the ``INVERTi'' transformation of the sequence is nonnegative. We give conditions on the sequences of graded dimensions for two Hopf algebras $H$ and $K$ in this category under which there exists a surjective homomorphism from $H$ to $K$. We also give conditions such that an isomorphic copy of $H$ occurs as a Hopf subalgebra of $K$.
Proof of a conjecture of Matherne, Morales, and Selover on encodings of unit interval orders
There are two bijections from unit interval orders on $n$ elements to Dyck paths from $(0,0)$ to $(n,n)$. One is to consider the pairs of incomparable elements, which form the set of boxes between some Dyck path and the diagonal. Another is to find a particular part listing (in the sense of Guay-Paquet) which yields an isomorphic poset, and to interpret the part listing as the area sequence of a Dyck path. Matherne, Morales, and Selover conjectured that, for any unit interval order, these two Dyck paths are related by Haglund's well-known zeta bijection. In this paper we prove their conjecture.
