Calculating the natural density of Mersenne numbers using nonstandard mathematical analysis
Currently, among the open (unsolved) problems in number theory is the following: it is unknown what is the natural density of the sequence of Mersenne numbers in the set of natural numbers. In the paper, using methods of nonstandard mathematical analysis, we obtain the following equation: the natural density of Mersenne numbers (some infinitesimal value $e$) multiplied by the sum of the reciprocals of odd numbers (the infinitely large value ω = 1 + 1/3 + 1/5 + ...) is equal to 1, or the equality $e$ = 1/ω is true. In nonstandard analysis, the resulting infinitesimal numbers $e$ and 1/ω are considered equivalent. We obtained this result by working with a two-dimensional matrix of non-negative integers, where odd numbers are separated from even ones by the Pepis-Kalmar pairing function.
Partitioning the set of natural numbers into Mersenne trees and into arithmetic progressions; Natural Matrix and Linnik's constant
We partition a series of natural numbers into infinite number sequences. We consider two partitioning options: (a) a forest of unary trees with recurrence formula of Mersenne numbers, and (b) a set of arithmetic progressions with difference $2^k$. Every tree starts with an even number, and any even number starts a certain tree. In the partitioning into arithmetic progressions, each progression starts with a Mersenne number, and each Mersenne number is the beginning of a particular arithmetic progression. Unary trees starting from some term are contained in OEIS A036991 (compact Dyck path codes), so we consider A036991 as a backbone of the partitions. In particular, we prove the existence of an arithmetic progression of any length in A036991. As a result of the partitions, we obtain a Natural Matrix with a packing function that captures the bijection between the set of natural numbers and the set of ordered pairs of natural numbers. In Natural Matrix, the even natural numbers are located on the $x$-axis, so the selection of primes in the considered arithmetic progressions is greatly simplified. A method for proving the infinity of primes in A036991 is proposed. In this regard, an attempt is made to reduce the Linnik's constant to $2$.
Dyck Numbers, IV. Nested patterns in OEIS A036991
Dyck paths (also balanced brackets and Dyck words) are among the most heavily studied Catalan families. This paper is a continuation of [2, 3, 4]. In the paper we are dealing with the numbering of Dyck paths, with the resulting numbers, the terms of the OEIS sequence A036991, which encode Dyck paths and which we have called the Dyck numbers. In this sequence, it turned out to be promising to investigate nested term patterns. The sequence is constructed entirely from nested patterns, with each pattern having an infinite number of copies. We have already considered repeated triplets of adjacent odd numbers; copies of such triplets in the process of expansion form quite complex structures, the analysis of which allows us to understand the structure of A036991. Additionally, we note that the composition of the terms of each pattern is repeated many times by a simple shift (offset) of Dyck numbers by some fixed value. As a result, pattern copies give us important parts of most levels and even give us new levels.
Dyck Numbers, III. Enumeration and bijection with symmetric Dyck paths
Dyck paths (also balanced brackets and Dyck words) are among the most heavily studied Catalan families. This paper is a continuation of [2, 3]. In the paper we enumerate the terms of the OEIS A036991, Dyck numbers, and construct a concomitant bijection with symmetric Dyck paths. In the case of binary coding of Dyck paths we work with compact natural numbers after removing leading zeros. Analysis of binary suffixes, allowed us to obtain a bijection between arbitrary A036991 terms and symmetric A036991 terms which encode symmetric Dyck paths. The bijection generates a forest of unary non-intersecting infinite trees. The root of each bijection tree is an asymmetric term; the other nodes are symmetrical. There are an infinite number of such trees. The reader is offered a software package for working with bijection trees.
Dyck Numbers, I. Successor Function
Dyck paths are among the most heavily studied Catalan families. In the paper we are dealing with the minimal numbering of Dyck paths, with the resulting numbers, the terms of the OEIS sequence A036991, which we have called Dyck numbers. We consider the successor function on the Dyck numbers, closed formulas are obtained. In particular, the formula for the successor of the Mersenne number is calculated (since OEIS A000225 is a subset of A036991). We have obtained the corresponding algorithm of the Dyck successor function, DS-function, and a Python program has been compiled. At the end of the paper, the size of the A036991 ranges is associated with the terms of OEIS A001405. The corresponding hypothesis is formulated.
Dyck path factorization
Dyck paths are among the most heavily studied Catalan families. We work with peaks and valleys to uniquely decompose Dyck paths into the simplest objects - prime fragments with a single peak. Each Dyck path is uniquely characterized by a set of peaks or a set of valleys. The appendix contains a python program with which the reader can factorize Dyck paths online.
Walking in the OEIS: From Motzkin numbers to Fibonacci numbers. The "shadows" of Motzkin numbers
In this paper, we consider nine OEIS sequences, the analysis of which allows us to find a connection between Motzkin numbers and Fibonacci numbers. In each Motzkin number, we distinguish an even component and an odd component, the difference of these two components is called the shadow of the Motzkin number. Reverse of the Motzkin shadows give us a sequence from the family of Fibonacci numbers.
Arithmetization of well-formed parenthesis strings. Motzkin Numbers of the Second Kind
In this paper, we perform an arithmetization of well-formed parenthesis strings with zeros (Motzkin words) and of corresponding Motzkin paths. The transformations used are reminiscent of Gödel numbering for mathematical objects of some formal language. We construct a Motzkin series that is as close as possible to natural numbers by many formal features. Parenthesis strings are encoded by ternary codes and corresponding natural numbers, Motzkin numbers of the 2nd kind, which made it possible to formalize and simplify the analysis of the successor function, to specify and clarify the procedure for selecting a successor. In the process of arithmetization of well-wormed parenthesis strings, various special numbers appeared. In this regard, in conclusion we will talk a little about numbers of the form $3^n+2$ and mirror numbers $2*3^n+1$.
4D Dyck triangle and its projections
The classic Dyck triangle, the Catalan triangle, and the Catalan convolution matrix are plane projections of the multidimensional Dyck triangle. In the Dyck path, each node is uniquely determined by two of four interrelated parameters: (i) the position of the current parenthesis, (ii) the current unbalance of the parentheses, (iii) the number of viewed left parentheses, and (iv) the same for right parentheses. The last two parameters can be redefined, respectively, as the index of the current Catalan number and the index of the summand in the decomposition of the Catalan number into the sum of squares (Dyck squares). For the 4D Dyck triangle, we consider six 2D projections (some of them are not yet in demand) and four 3D projections.
Decomposition of the Catalan number into the sum of squares
Analysis of the dynamics of the Dyck words helped solve the problem of representing the Catalan number as a sum of squares of natural numbers. In this case, the Dyck triangle is considered in different coordinates. In the calculations, we use the Catalan convolution matrix.
Naturalized bracket row and Motzkin triangle
The paper considers the sequence of the Motzkin words, which is constructed according to formal features of natural numbers. We investigate the decomposition of well-formed parentheses into the matched pairs of parentheses (analogous to Prime Numbers). The point triangle of bracket pairs is constructed and studied, as well as the numerical Motzkin triangle (similar to Pascal's triangle). To calculate the Motzkin triangle, the graphical method of stars and bars is used.
Factoring Middle Binomial Coefficients
The article describes prime intervals into the prime factorization of the middle binomial coefficient. Prime factors and prime powers are distributed in layers. Each layer consists of non-repeated prime numbers which are chosen (not calculated) from the noncrossing prime intervals. Repeated factors are formed when primes are duplicated among different layers.
Generating function for Naturalized Series: The case of Ordered Motzkin Words
We continue to consider the ordered lexicographic sequence, which is constructed according to the formal characteristics of a series of natural numbers. For analysis, we selected balanced parentheses with zeros, Motzkin words. As you know, generating functions allow you to work with combinatorial objects by analytical methods. Motzkin words are enumerated by Motzkin numbers, for the generation of which there is a corresponding generating function. In our case, restrictions are imposed on Motzkin words, for example, there are no leading zeros in bracket sets. The purpose of this article is to obtain the generating function of such modified Motzkin words.
Mathematics of Balanced Parentheses: The case of Ordered Motzkin Words
It is known that the core of mathematics is natural numbers. And everything related to the natural number is interesting to mathematicians. In this paper, we draw parallels between natural numbers and elements of a non-numeric lexicographic sequence, Motzkin words (well-formed strings of parentheses and zeros). We will also talk about the decomposition of Motzkin words into pairs of parentheses (analogue of Prime Numbers). Finally, we will try to interest the reader in the elements of mathematical analysis on bracket expressions. The nesting procedure of parentheses is described by the author as the differentiation of the weight function. We will work a little with derivatives for bracket pairs and also give some differential equations.
Arithmetic on Balanced Parentheses: The case of Ordered Motzkin Words
We establish a total lexicographical order on the set of Motzkin words. Elements are ordered similarly to Natural Numbers in accordance with known rules (axioms). As a result, we were able to obtain arithmetic and logical operations on the elements of the ordered sequence, Motzkin Row. This sequence consists of balanced brackets without leading zeros, with the exception of the initial word "0". It is the word "0" as well as the alphabetical symbol "0" that are analogues of numeric zero in the corresponding operations. Logical operations allow you to navigate Motzkin Row. Operations on words are accompanied by index equations, index polynomials.
Dynamics of balanced parentheses, lexicographic series and Dyck polynomials
The article deals with a lexicographic order in various sequences. Consider the axiomatic of lexicographic series, based on the properties of the natural numbers. Elements of the set are ordered first the code length; further in each sign range, sorting is performed according to the given order on the alphabet. The sequence of the Dyck words, Dyck series, is analyzed as an example of such lexicographical series. The basis of this series is the dynamics of the Dyck words. We solve the direct and inverse problem of identification of elements of the Dyck series. The polynomial equation on the Dyck triangle is investigated. We give a recursive equation for Dyck polynomials. A matrix of polynomial coefficients is constructed to solve some problems. In conclusion, the reader is offered a software service for identification of the Dyck words with index up to $10^{10}$.
Factoring Catalan numbers
The paper describes a prime factorization of the Catalan numbers. Odd prime factors are distributed in layers in accordance with Legendre's formula. The content of each layer is a network of the intervals, Chebyshev's Segments. The primes of Segment are not calculated and are selected on the basis of its bounds. Layers contain non-repeated primes. Repeated factors are formed when primes are duplicated among different layers. The paper slightly modifies Kummer's theorem for the selection of individual prime factors, also starting from the boundaries of Segments. In conclusion, the reader is offered a software service for factorization of the Catalan number with index up to $10^8$
Legendre's formula and $p$-adic analysis
In number theory, we know Legendre's formula $ v_p(n!) = \sum_{k \ge 1} \lfloor \frac{n}{p^k} \rfloor $, which calculates the $p$-adic valuation of the factorial, i.e. the exponent of the greatest power of a prime $p$ that divides $n!$. There is also the second (or alternative) equality $ v_p (n!) = \frac{n-s_p(n)}{p-1} $ where $s_p(n)$ is the $p$-adic weight of $n$ or the sum of digits of $n$ in base $p$. Both kinds of Legendre's formula allow us to determine valuations of the natural number, the odd factorial, binomial coefficients, Catalan numbers, and other combinatorial objects. The article examines the relationship between the $p$-adic valuation and $p$-adic weight and considers their increments. The arithmetic of the $p$-adic increments is proposed.
Dyck Paths in Four-Dimensional Space
In analyzing balanced parentheses, we consider a group of related variables in Dyck paths. In the four-dimensional space, the Dyck triangle is constructed, i.e. an integer lattice with Dyck paths.
