On well (edge) dominated and equimatchable strong product graphs
A graph is well-(edge-)dominated if every minimal (edge) dominating set is minimum. A graph is equimatchable if every maximal matching is maximum. We study these concepts on strong product graphs. We fully characterize well-edge-dominated and equimatchable strong product graphs of nontrivial graphs, and identify a large family of graphs whose strong products with any well-dominated graph are well-dominated.
Cycle Extendability of Hamiltonian Strongly Chordal Graphs

In 1990, Hendry conjectured that all Hamiltonian chordal graphs are cycle extendable. After a series of papers confirming the conjecture for a number of graph classes, the conjecture is yet refuted by Lafond and Seamone in 2015. Given that their counterexamples are not strongly chordal graphs and they are all only $2$-connected, Lafond and Seamone asked the following two questions: (1) Are Hamiltonian strongly chordal graphs cycle extendable? (2) Is there an integer $k$ such that all $k$-connected Hamiltonian chordal graphs are cycle extendable?
Later, a conjecture stronger than Hendry's is proposed. In this paper, we resolve all these questions in the negative. On the positive side, we add to the list of cycle extendable graphs two more graph classes, namely, Hamiltonian $4$-\textsc{fan}-free chordal graphs where every induced $K_5 - e$ has true twins, and Hamiltonian $\{4\textsc{-fan}, \overline{A} \}$-free chordal graphs.
Local Coloring and its Complexity

A $k$-coloring of a graph is an assignment of integers between $1$ and $k$ to vertices in the graph such that the endpoints of each edge receive different numbers. We study a local variation of the coloring problem, which imposes further requirements on three vertices: We are not allowed to use two consecutive numbers for a path on three vertices, or three consecutive numbers for a cycle on three vertices. Given a graph $G$ and a positive integer $k$, the local coloring problem asks for whether $G$ admits a local $k$-coloring. We give a characterization of graphs admitting local $3$-coloring, which implies a simple polynomial-time algorithm for it. Li et al.~[\href{http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.ipl.2017.09.013} {Inf.~Proc.~Letters 130 (2018)}] recently showed it is NP-hard when $k$ is an odd number of at least $5$, or $k = 4$. We show that it is NP-hard when $k$ is any fixed even number at least $6$, thereby completing the complexity picture of this problem. We close the paper with a short remark on local colorings of perfect graphs.
