Positive expansions of permuted basement and quasisymmetric Macdonald polynomials at $t=0$
It is well known that the $q$-Whittaker polynomials, which are $t=0$ specializations of the Macdonald polynomials $P_λ(X;q,t)$, expand positively as the sum of Schur polynomials. Macdonald polynomials have a quasisymmetric refinement: the quasisymmetric Macdonald polynomials $G_γ(X;q,t)$, and a nonsymmetric refinement: the ASEP polynomials $f_α(X;q,t)$. We study the $t=0$ specializations of both these families of polynomials and show analogous properties: the quasisymmetric Macdonald polynomials expand positively as a sum of quasisymmetric Schur functions, $\text{QS}_γ(X)$, and the ASEP polynomials expand positively as a sum of Demazure atoms, $\mathcal{A}_α(X)$. As a corollary of the latter, we prove more generally that any permuted basement Macdonald polynomial has a positive expansion in the Demazure atoms at $t=0$. We give a description of the structure coefficients of $G_γ(X;q,0)$ and $f_α(X;q,0)$ in both cases in terms of the charge statistic on a restricted set of semistandard tableaux.
Parametrizing the Grassmannian using pipe dreams
Postnikov gave a parametrization for the totally non-negative Grassmannian using the matroid decomposition and associating a network with \reflectbox{L}-diagrams. Talaska and Williams extend this result to the entire Grassmannian by using the Deodhar decomposition instead of the matroid decomposition, and the networks this time are associated with the generalized versions of \reflectbox{L}-diagrams, which are called Go-diagrams. We provide an alternative parametrization for the Deodhar components, this time constructing a network based on the pipe dreams associated with the Go-diagrams.
This parametrization has several nice properties; for one, it allows us to easily calculate the image of a point under the isomorphism $Gr_{k,n}\simeq Gr_{n-k,n}$. The second feature of this parametrization is that if we write the Plücker coordinates using the Lindstörm-Gessel-Viennot (LGV) lemma in our parametrization, we can associate a pipe dream to each summand, which allows us to reveal additional structure on the summands. Finally, as an application of our parametrization, we describe a case where we can conclude whether one Deodhar component lies inside the closure of another.

We study and derive identities for the multi-variate independence polynomials from the perspective of heaps theory. Using the inversion formula and the combinatorics of partially commutative algebras we show how the multi-variate version of Godsil type identity as well as the fundamental identity can be obtained from weight preserving bijections. Finally, we obtain a new multi-variate identity involving connected bipartite subgraphs similar to the Christoffel-Darboux type identities obtained by Bencs.
