The asymptotic behavior of the rectangle partition function $p(m,n)$
Let $p(m,n)$ denote the number of partitions of a rectangle $m\times n$ into integer-sided rectangular blocks, where two partitions are indistinguishable if they consist of the same multiset of blocks, regardless of their geometric arrangement. We present an elementary approach to show that, for every fixed positive integer $m$, $$ \log p(m,n)=π\sqrt{\tfrac{2mH_m}{3}}\sqrt{n}+O(\log n), \qquad \text{as }n\to\infty, $$ where $H_m$ denotes the $m$-th harmonic number. This confirms a conjecture recently posed by the authors and generalizes the Hardy--Ramanujan formula for integer partitions.
A note on the partition function of a rectangle
We investigate the asymptotic behavior of the rectangle partition functions $p(n,n)$ and $p(3,n)$. The function $p(n,n)$ counts partitions of the square $n\times n$ into rectangular blocks with integer sides, while $p(3,n)$ counts such partitions of the rectangle $3\times n$. Two rectangle partitions are identified when they contain the same multiset of rectangle types, and a block $a\times b$ is identified with a block $b\times a$. Our main results are $$ p(n,n) =
\exp\left( \left(\tfracπ{\sqrt3}+o(1)\right)n\sqrt{\log n} \right) $$ and $$ p(3,n) =
\exp\left( π\sqrt{\tfrac{11n}{3}}+O(\log n) \right). $$ We also present simpler upper and lower bounds for $p(n,n)$ and an independent upper bound for $p(3,n)$.
Submultiplicative Polynomials in Combinatorics
For normalized sequences $\left(g(n)\right)_{n\in\mathbb{N}}$ we consider recursively defined polynomials $P_n^g(x)$. In this paper we study their submultiplicative property, viewed as a Bessenrodt--Ono type inequality for the partition function, and provide an effective criterion for establishing it.
Rectangle partitions generalizing integer partitions
In this paper, we introduce a natural geometric extension of the partition function. More precisely, we investigate the problem of counting partitions of a rectangle into rectangular blocks with integer sides. Here, two partitions of a rectangle are indistinguishable if they consist of the same multiset of blocks, their geometric arrangement does not matter.
Log-Concavity and Log-Convexity of Restricted Infinite Products
In this paper we provide a classification on the sign distribution of $Δ_{E,\ell}(n):= p_{E,\ell }(n)^2 - p_{E,\ell }(n-1) \, p_{E,\ell }(n+1)$, where \begin{equation*} \sum_{n =0}^{\infty} p_{E,\ell }(n) \, q^n := \prod_{n \in S}
\left(1 - q^n \right)^{-f_{\ell}(n)},\quad (\ell \in \mathbb{N}, f_1\equiv 1). \end{equation*} We take the product over $1\in S \subset \mathbb{N}$ and denote the complement by $E$, the set of exceptions. In the case of $\ell=1$ and $E$ the multiples of $k$, $p_{E,1}\left( n\right) $ represents the number of $k$-regular partitions. More generally, let $f_{\ell}$ satisfy a certain growth condition. We determine the signs of $Δ_{E,\ell }(n)$ for $\ell$ large. The signs mainly depend on the occurrence of subsets of $\{2,3,4,5\}$ as a part of the exception set and the residue class of $n$ modulo $ r$, where $r $ depends on $E$. For example, let $2,3 \in S$ and $4$ an exception. Let $n$ be large. Then for almost all $\ell$ we have \begin{equation*} Δ_{E,\ell }(n) >0 \,\,\, \text{ for } n\equiv 2 \pmod{3}. \end{equation*} If we assume $3,4 \in S$ and $2$ an exception. Let $n$ be large. Then for almost all $\ell$ we have \begin{equation*} Δ_{E,\ell }(n) < 0 \,\,\, \text{ for } n\equiv 2 \pmod{3}. \end{equation*} Note that this property is independent of the integers $k\in S,k>4$.
On the Bessenrodt-Ono type inequality for a wide class of $A$-partition functions
The $A$-partition function $p_A(n)$ enumerates those partitions of $n$ whose parts belong to a fixed (finite or infinite) set $A$ of positive integers. On the other hand, the extended $A$-partition function $p_A\left(\boldsymbolμ\right)$ is defined as an multiplicative extension of the $A$-partition function to a function on $A$-partitions. In this paper, we investigate the Bessenrodt-Ono type inequality for a wide class of $A$-partition functions. In particular, we examine the property for both the $m$-ary partition function $b_m(n)$ and the $d$-th power partition function $p_d(n)$. Moreover, we show that $b_m(\boldsymbolμ)$ ($p_d(\boldsymbolμ)$) takes its maximum value at an explicitly described set of $m$-ary partitions (power partitions), where $\boldsymbolμ$ is an $m$-ary partition (a power partition) of $n$. Additionally, we exhibit analogous results for the Fibonacci partition function and the `factorial' partition function. It is worth pointing out that an elementary combinatorial reasoning plays a crucial role in our investigation.

In recent literature concerning integer partitions one can find many results related to both the Bessenrodt-Ono type inequalities and log-concavity property. In this note we offer some general approach to this type of problems. More precisely, we prove that under some mild conditions on an increasing function $F$ of at most exponential growth satisfying the condition $F(\mathbb{N})\subset \mathbb{R}_{+}$, we have $F(a)F(b)>F(a+b)$ for sufficiently large positive integers $a, b$. Moreover, we show that if the sequence $(F(n))_{n\geq n_{0}}$ is log-concave and $\limsup_{n\rightarrow +\infty}F(n+n_{0})/F(n)<F(n_{0})$, then $F$ satisfies the Bessenrodt-Ono type inequality.
The Turán and Laguerre inequalities for quasi-polynomial-like functions
This paper deals with both the higher order Turán inequalities and the Laguerre inequalities for quasi-polynomial-like functions -- that are expressions of the form $f(n)=c_l(n)n^l+\cdots+c_d(n)n^d+o(n^d)$, where $d,l\in\mathbb{N}$ and $d\leqslant l$. A natural example of such a function is the $A$-partition function $p_{A}(n)$, which enumerates the number of partitions of $n$ with parts in the fixed finite multiset $A=\{a_1,a_2,\ldots,a_k\}$ of positive integers. For an arbitrary positive integer $d$, we present efficient criteria for both the order $d$ Turán inequality and the $d$th Laguarre inequality for quasi-polynomial-like functions. In particular, we apply these results to deduce non-trivial analogues for $p_A(n)$.
Polynomization of the Bessenrodt-Ono type inequalities for A-partition functions
For an arbitrary set or multiset $A$ of positive integers, we associate the $A$-partition function $p_A(n)$ (that is the number of partitions of $n$ whose parts belong to $A$). We also consider the analogue of the $k$-colored partition function, namely, $p_{A,-k}(n)$. Further, we define a family of polynomials $f_{A,n}(x)$ which satisfy the equality $f_{A,n}(k)=p_{A,-k}(n)$ for all $n\in\mathbb{Z}_{\geq0}$ and $k\in\mathbb{N}$. This paper concerns the polynomization of the Bessenrodt--Ono type inequality for $f_{A,n}(x)$: \begin{align*}
f_{A,a}(x)f_{A,b}(x)>f_{A,a+b}(x), \end{align*} where $a$ and $b$ are arbitrary positive integers; and delivers some efficient criteria for its solutions. Moreover, we also investigate a few basic properties related to both functions $f_{A,n}(x)$ and $f_{A,n}'(x)$.
Restricted partition functions and the $r$-log-concavity of quasi-polynomial-like functions
Let $\mathcal{A}=\left(a_i\right)_{i=1}^\infty$ be a weakly increasing sequence of positive integers and let $k$ be a fixed positive integer. For an arbitrary integer $n$, the restricted partition $p_\mathcal{A}(n,k)$ enumerates all the partitions of $n$ whose parts belong to the multiset $\{a_1,a_2,\ldots,a_k\}$. In this paper we investigate some generalizations of the log-concavity of $p_\mathcal{A}(n,k)$. We deal with both some basic extensions like, for instance, the strong log-concavity and a more intriguing challenge that is the $r$-log-concavity of both quasi-polynomial-like functions in general, and the restricted partition function in particular. For each of the problems, we present an efficient solution.

Let $\mathcal{A}=(a_i)_{i=1}^\infty$ be a non-decreasing sequence of positive integers and let $k\in\mathbb{N}_+$ be fixed. The function $p_\mathcal{A}(n,k)$ counts the number of partitions of $n$ with parts in the multiset $\{a_1,a_2,\ldots,a_k\}$. We find out a new type of Bessenrodt-Ono inequality for the function $p_\mathcal{A}(n,k)$. Further, we discover when and under what conditions on $k$, $\{a_1,a_2,\ldots,a_k\}$ and $N\in\mathbb{N}_+$, the sequence $\left(p_\mathcal{A}(n,k)\right)_{n=N}^\infty$ is log-concave. Our proofs are based on the asymptotic behavior of $p_\mathcal{A}(n,k)$, in particular, we apply the results of Netto and Pólya-Szegö as well as the Almkavist's estimation.

Let $\mathcal{A}=(a_n)_{n\in\mathbb{N}_+}$ be a sequence of positive integers. Let $p_\mathcal{A}(n,k)$ denote the number of multi-color partitions of $n$ into parts in $\{a_1,\ldots,a_k\}$. We examine several arithmetic properties of the sequence $(p_\mathcal{A}(n,k) \pmod{m})_{n\in\mathbb{N}}$ for an arbitrary fixed integer $m\geqslant2$. We investigate periodicity of the sequence and lower and upper bounds for the density of the set $\{n\in\mathbb{N}: p_\mathcal{A}(n,k) \equiv i \pmod{m}\}$ for a fixed positive integer $k$ and $i\in\{0,1,\ldots, m-1\}$. In particular, we apply our results to the special cases of the sequence $\mathcal{A}$. Furthermore, we present some results related to restricted $m$-ary partitions.
